  1. I used my loot to do the 'Behind the Curtains' tour of the ship. It was pricy but was the best behind-the-scenes ship tour I ever did. Not sure if this is still offered.
  2. On the firm side but not objectionable. I slept like a baby on my 6 cruises.
  3. There is no way you can be happy about this situation. Keep us updated please.
  4. I would be very concerned about this and also very unhappy. Definitely give them a call.
  5. I can help you with this question. I have an onion allergy and I’m also on a no carb diet so eating is a challenge for me in any restaurant. I’ve taken six cruises on Virgin and can report that I’ve had good luck finding plain unseasoned food in several of the venues. It is a challenge as even the lamb chops, for example, are brined in an onion brine but the chef made a special order of unbrind lamb chops for me. I made friends with the chefs at several of the restaurants, and they went out of their way to take care of my dietary needs. Hope this helps.
  6. DeclanDiamond - I'm very tech savvy and yet I still find the VV app a real challenge to navigate. Regarding your travel docs: it sounds like you may be 'good to go' but you still may want to call Sailor Services to confirm. It sounds like you have a very unique situation.
  7. I was only referring to my experiences when logging in for the FIRST TIME after first embarking on the ship... It worked seamlessly for the rest of the cruise both on a off the ship. Just trying to help OP for their first-time VV adventure. 🙂
  8. This is excellent advice. I wear AirPods Pro noise-canceling earbuds 100% of the time when in public areas and real earplugs in venues like the Mannor.
  9. I've taken 6 cruises on Scarlett this year and found it very frustrating to get connected to the ship's wifi and logged to my account on each and every cruise. I always end up closing my app and restarting my iPhone before I could be connected. I was always onboard by 2 PM as a Sea Rover so it wasn't an issue caused by the rush of passengers logging in at the same time. Maybe others can post the double secret technique or procedure to easily log into ones account once on board.
  10. I would book your shows as soon as you get on board. Also a little-known and seldom discussed dining option is brunch (which can be booked once on board via the app) and are usually wide open for the first few hours.
  11. The porters in Miami use a ‘high tech’ Sharpie to write the names and cabin numbers on the tag. 🙂
  12. Bring all the red duds you have to fit in with the tribe. I'm not a Hugh fan of Scarlet Night but, with that said, I bought a red pair of Sketchers especially.
  13. Just checked mine - it’s working for me.
  14. As OP, I was interested to know when was 'the soonest' I could book a show. before my first VV Cruise. Six cruises later I discovered the answer was not unit I first boarded the ship. I'm speaking from my experience at Terminal V in Miami only but I could never access the ship's wifi before I boarded. I tried almost everything including trying including trying from the 5th-floor parking garage a stone's throw away from the ship. My experience was always before 2 PM because, as a Sea Rover, I was always in my room by then. I guess It is what it is 🙂
  15. This is showing up on the app for my upcoming cruise.
  16. My Rockstar suite on 14, under the pool, didn’t go well on Scarlet Night. I’m surprised VV designed their ships with some of their best suites in such a noisy location. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.
  17. I'm booked for a Dec. 17th cruise an my app is currently showing a "Restaurants coming soon" date of October 29th, 2023 (see attached). I add an appointment to my phone calendar to book restaurants first thing on Oct, 29th.
  18. The cabins I was looking at were single solo directly above The Manor. Can you imagine?
  19. From my 'School of Hard Knocks University' training: Avoid decks 8 and 14 at all costs.
  20. You will receive this solo letter if you booked a solo cabin. With that said; I am pretty sure the solo activities are open to all solos on board. I've never been to the Razzle Dazzle solo event but went to several of the meet and greet events on embarkation day. There were about 15-20 solo passengers at these meet and greets and is a good time to scope out the who's who traveling solo.
  21. If you're referring to events like Duel Reality, those can only be booked once onboard and connected to the ship's wifi (at least it was this way for my last 6 cruises). Regarding solo gatherings, there we 2 on my four day cruises. One during debarkation at 5 p.m. (up on the athletic deck) and another solos' party on day 2 or 3.
  22. I have to say VV cruises are the most inclusive when it comes to dress. Other ways too. I was expecting VV to be 'windjammer barefoot cruise' casual so wasn't planning on packing anything but shorts on my first cruise. I decided differently at the last minute and packed long pants. I'm glad I did. The vibe at night was far more sophisticated than expected. There was casual attire for sure but far more chic and stylish attire than expected. With that said, it's a 'nobody judges you, nobody cares' crowd. Wear what you want but, take a jacket. It's cold onboard at night.
  23. We were there fall, 2019 and were surprised at how warm it was. Light jackets during the day.
  24. Only walk through metal detectors used for people in Miami. Bags go through x-ray.
