Finally!! We were in first phase with a May 9 sailing date. I requested FCC about March 15 which I finally saw in my account about 6 weeks ago, but did not get other $1100+ in ppd expenses back and was concerned that they had "forgotten" all that. Was planning to get all details with dates paid and write a nasty letter and possibly get with Visa. However, I just happened to notice several credits to my Visa yesterday that posted on June 4th. It was odd how they kept some items as separate credits for ppd gratuities, specialty restaurants, spa,. But then they lumped PPP, airport transfers, and cruises taxes/port fees into a single credit. It took me a bit to figure out what they had done but every penny was there. Still no communication at all! Would have been nice to have gotten a notification when the FCC was done, letting me know my other refunds were pending. It would also have been nice to get a notification when refunds were done and claim closed. Maybe a final statement with a break down? Someone had to review and do refunds and just the extra little steps of communication would have made the long wait far less stressful.

We used Uber to get everywhere around SF when we were there in Oct. So easy, fast and fairly inexpensive.

Does anyone have any info, good or bad, on a car/limo service from SFO to downtown hotel?
-
We did this a few years ago and rented with Budget for a one way rental. No problems and it was reasonable. May depend on time of year, though. The drive was quite nice, except at border. We had about an hour and a half delay there.

When we did this we stayed at the Seattle Courtyard Downtown/ Pioneer Square and walked with our suitcases the few blocks to the train station. Hotel was quite nice.

If you want something new, give Norwegian a try. We have cruised Princess many times and Royal Caribbean a few. (I enjoyed RC too). We have done 1 Celebrity and it was just ok. Only 1 Norwegian, but it was on the Epic, in a spa balcony cabin, and it was great. I also loved the variety of restaurants, rather than a main dining room. While we are still cruising Princess, I am looking forward to another Norwegian cruise.

Mother of the Bride here. Our daughter chose an "at sea" wedding after reading so much on these boards. We did a "sort of " traditional announcement from the parents and included information about the cruise and a link to the website my daughter's TA set up for her. I will be happy to e-mail a copy of the announcement to anyone who would like to see it.

KKAL474,
We were able to book the reservations at Sabatinis as well as the reception as soon as we booked the wedding. We have to finalize the count 60 days prior.

We are getting married at sea on January 21, 2007 on the Grand Princess. I hope to do a 2 hour hors d'oeuvre/open bar reception at Skywalkers and then dinner at Sabatinis. I can't wait!!!
GrandWedding2007,
I have just booked the Grand Princess for our daughter's wedding in April and we will be doing about the same thing you will. Please keep my e-mail address and let me know how everything goes and what you would or would not do differently. We have sailed on the Grand twice before and it's a lovely ship and I have a lot of confidence that Princess will do a good job. We have also dined in Sabatini's and loved it! I am especially interested in how well the flowers and your cake turn out. Also for FebWedding - I spoke with Princess today and Sabatinis will seat 90! I found that hard to believe, but I assume they rearrange tables and make it happen. It is definately well worth doing for the price.
Thanks,
Deborah
