How far in advance would be sufficient to book Armando?

O’s “Luggage Forward” Service: Is it Reliable?
cayman09 replied to harryw's topic in Oceania Cruises
I've used them round trip on two occasions, so a total of four times shipped and all with air tags. Never had an issue with them. On one trip they actually opened and removed a small inexpensive device that I mistakenly packed but left the Air Tag inside. -
We disembarked from Regatta in March and stayed 2 nights at the Hilton, a beautiful property. gave us a chance to see the area, relax and then a short hop to the airport.

Don't pack anything with rechargeable batteries, it will be removed. It's pricy but you can't beat embarking after a 5 day pre cruise trip to find your shipped luggage right outside your cabin door waiting for you.

I see Marina arriving in Miami on 12/3 on CruiseMapper.
-
Yes, there was a charge for Lyre's non alcoholic spirits on Regatta in March.

Marina November 1 “Holy Lands and Treasures” Itinerary Changes
cayman09 replied to GeorgiaPeach51's topic in Oceania Cruises
You seem to indicate that Oceania is the only cruise line in this situation when in fact all lines with the same ports are facing the same decision. Have you seen anything posted on these boards that leads you to believe that Oceania is an outlier it their decision? I know you're disappointed but to lash out against one line without knowing if other affected ones are doing something different is a bit self centered. -
We stayed at the Hilton after we debarking from Regatta in March. It was recently totally renovated, has multiple restaurants and is connected to a small mall via a skybridge. The pool area is quite large and has great views of Moorea.

I posed this same question directly to Azamara for an Italy Intensive cruise. They replied that they are negotiating new contracts and they would be ready 9 months prior to embarking. I asked to see any current itineraries & pricing just to get an idea and they refused. I then told them that I usually book air a year in advance since I use points & miles for business class, no response.

Viking Ocean wanted full payment 15 months in advance and wouldn't budge. I had been on their river cruises and reluctantly paid in full 6 months prior to sailing but this 15 month policy is a deal breaker for me. I'm happy on Oceania and I'm booked on Azamara now. They will be my go to for the near future.

We tried the service for the last two cruises because we had pre-cruise tours. It was pricy but the ability to send the big luggage direct to the ship while we only had to deal with the carry on for the tours was worth it for our sore backs.

I used air tags with Luggage Forward. They made it through but my battery camera grip did not. They also used DHL who destroyed my handles but on the good side Luggage Forward promptly paid the claim.

After 5 HAL cruises and their ever growing sized ships we tried Oceania. We loved HAL but the crowding and decreased service & food levels were concerning. On our last transatlantic the main dining room was the last straw. On consecutive nights, a waiter missed taking an order from one of six at our table and the next night took all of the orders but never delivered one dinner. Coffee was served cold and came after breakfast was served and no refills offered. We were so disappointed that we paid for specialty restaurants the last half of the cruise. Our first Oceania cruise was a refreshing change on Regatta. The food in every restaurant was a step up, the service was superb and the small size of the ship fit our needs. We're already booked on Sirena for January.

Same question regarding pre/post cruise journeys and city stays. Is there a booklet showing descriptions and cost? For example, I can see both listed on an Italy Intensive for 8/22, but cannot click on them or see a description.

Oceania Insignia Cruise Review - June, 2023
cayman09 replied to Smokeyham's topic in Oceania Cruises
We were on Regatta for 18 days in the South Pacific skirting a cyclone that actually prevented us from stopping at Vanuatu even for a humanitarian mission. We didn't feel much of anything aboard Regatta, she did just fine in those waters. -
Did the tour with another cruise line 4 years ago. Very moving, especially the American Cemetery. Had lunch at an outdoor cafe right across from Omaha Beach. Best tour of our cruise.

What’s you’re favorite memory on Oceania?
cayman09 replied to BrakeawayTakeaway's topic in Oceania Cruises
Getting ice cream in the Terrace on the first night on Regatta when the very friendly server asked our names during a nice conversation. The next morning that same server was making cappuccino in Baristas when I came in and she not only beamed a bright smile and called me by name but also asked where my DW was - by name. That was our introduction to Oceania and the best staff we've had on any of our dozen cruises on other lines. We are booked again already for January. -
I believe there were 2 of those in Horizons on Regatta when we were on board in March.
-
First Oceania cruises after over 10 with main lines. Absolutely loved it and loved Regatta. We're booking another right now for the end of the year. We're converts now and will probably never go back to the big ships. The food, the staff who greet you by name, the ambience of the ship and the value. It's for us!

Sydney to Tahiti 18 days on Regatta, great cruise.

Just stayed 3 days at the Hilton, very nice property with multiple restaurants and an enclosed walkway to a small shopping area with a supermarket. Have you inquired with them for a day room?
-
We also were in 8044 for 18 days last month. Didn't hear anything and loved the !location right near the elevator.
