For 2016?
Nieuw Amsterdam
Agreed. Love that ship and sailing out of
Vancouver.

I've been on Coral and Star and would definitely chose the Coral. It's a beautiful ship with the perfect design for scenic cruising. After the recent drydock the Island looks like a butchered version of Coral.

I've thoroughly enjoyed cruising on Celebrity to Alaska but I'd go with Princess. Their itineraries are unbeatable, especially the north and southbound sailings from Vancouver or Whittier.

Always a yes.

It's a great length and itinerary. I wouldn't hesitate to book it. I recently took a 7 day cruise after a few 10 and 11 night cruises and found it to be too short. I'm spoiled now.

I hope it's just a rumor and the glass elevators stay. Being forward on deck 11 we loved using those elevators and the wonderful observation deck.

Tracy Arm is a lovely experience but it really can't compare with the grandeur of Glacier Bay. I would also put the Hubbard glacier ahead of Tracey Arm and while IMO the Hubbard is at par with Glacier Bay there are differences that set them apart from one another.
My thoughts exactly.

I loved the Century..she was my favorite ship and I'll miss her. I also loved the Galaxy and Mercury, especially the Mercury because she felt more similar to Century.

Thanks so much for your live updates. I'm really enjoying them. I can't wait to step aboard the QM2 in a few weeks..doesn't quite seem real yet. I've been wanting to do a crossing on this ship since it inaugurated and it's finally happening. Thanks again! :)

Here we go... 673 photos are online... disregard my writing as it´s in German (unless you do speak German of course).;)

Your photos are fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing.

That sounds odd. I'll be on the Eclipse for the first time later this year. Did the passport bar serve food previously?

Another vote for the RT from Vancouver. It's a spectacular city, the inside passage is a highlight for me and enhances the cruise experience. I also love the Nieuw Amsterdam..it's a beautiful ship and the added venues, Tamarind and Silk Den, are wonderful.

Century was my first and favorite ship and I was fortunate to sail on her 3 times. I'm very sad to see her go.

I can't speak for Royal Caribbean but Royal Princess horizon court blows away any ship buffet I've experienced. No lines (on a Christmas cruise), endless selection and great tasting food.

My first cruise was on the Century when she was brand new. It was like nothing I'd ever experienced before and I was instantly hooked on cruising. I was fortunate enough to sail on her twice again last year and she was as beautiful as I'd remembered. Century will always be my favorite ship and I am sad to see her go.

Great video, thank you for sharing it. I remember being in Stanley park with my family many years ago and watching her sail away from Vancouver. We all commented on what a beautiful ship she was.

I'm happy to hear good things about the inside cabins on deck 3. We have one booked on the Eclipse in December..typically I avoid booking cabins below public rooms but the price was hard to beat. This is our first time on an S class ship and we can't wait!

I'm really bummed they're making these drastic changes to the Coral too. I loved that ship and was hoping to sail her again in her current state.

I loved both of these venues on NA. Although we experienced pretty severe vibration in Tamarind during our meal we actually found it comical after a few minutes. The food and service were outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful.

Who Here Sailed & Loved Celebrity Mercury?
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
I sailed on the Mercury for a B2B Alaska cruise and it was probably the best cruise I've ever taken. I can't remember having such a severe case of cruise withdrawal as I did after that cruise. Lol. For me the ship was a perfect mix of the Century and Galaxy which I also loved.
