  1. I always liked 3 for Free, too, but I agree that it’s unlikely that it will apply to a November cruise if it’s repeated. I don’t like Sip n Sail because I don’t drink anything but water. Remember, you can ask them to remove the amenities package and give you a reduced price. I have a big cruise booked for next year and I saved a lot. It will be a lot cheaper for me to pay my own gratuities. I don’t know if they will always let you remove the amenities package, but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
  2. Thanks to everyone. This makes me feel better about it. I still think I would prefer to make my own, but it will be a new experience. It will be fun and I’ll be on a cruise!!!! 🤗
  3. Wow. Thanks for the picture. Now, I’m looking forward to trying it. I hope they don’t have long lines for salads.
  4. Thanks. I eat a big salad every day while I’m cruising. I really look forward to it.
  5. I love that. That’s one of the reasons I like to make my own. I pick things from different areas.
  6. Thanks everyone. Thanks for all the great information. It sounds like I may be able to get a salad that I like. Dressing on the side is a good idea.
  7. Thanks. This is a change then from my previous HAL cruises. I’m sure I’ll survive. I don’t really like my salad mixed in a bowl. Maybe they can make it the way I want.
  8. I’d never blast you, Roz. Thanks. I prefer self serve. I’m sure I’ll survive.
  9. I read the CC review of the Eurodam and it says the buffet has a salad area where they will mix a salad for you. There were always salad bars on my previous HAL cruises. Has that changed? I understand the whole cleanliness thing about them serving food to you in the buffet, but I really like making my own salad. Thanks in advance for any information. 😎
  10. Thanks. I do like Evian better.
  11. Do they have their own water? That could make a difference.
  12. Thanks. Sounds great. I look forward to trying it.
  13. Thanks so much. That really helps. My online price for 12 bottles is more than $42.
  14. Thank you, that’s what I needed to know. The water package is a value if individual bottles are $6.50. Unfortunately, I am not a 4 star mariner yet.
  15. Thanks. I’ve never eaten in the Pinnacle Grill. I should try it.
  16. Forgive me for asking questions that have probably been answered, but I’ve been away from CC for awhile and I can’t seem to find anything when I do searches. I just booked a cruise on the Eurodam. I haven’t sailed with HAL in a few years. A couple questions: How much does HAL charge for a single liter bottle of water? I’m trying to decide on the value of the water package. ( I know tap water is perfectly fine.) Does the Eurodam have an unlimited WiFi package? If so, how much is it and does it work well? Does HAL let you pay your daily gratuities with OBC? I seem to recall that I’ve done this before, but I was recently on another cruise line that didn’t allow it. Do do they serve lunch in the MDR every day or just sea days? Thank you in advance. Much appreciated.
  17. I want to add that I had friends in the Haven on the Breakaway last year and it was really great. Princess has nothing like the Haven experience. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  18. Thanks for taking the time to write such a lengthy review. I’m a Princess cruiser, but I try other cruise lines. Last December I reluctantly went on the Breakaway to cruise with friends. We had met on Princess cruises over they years and now they all like NCL. I thought what the heck. I had an outstanding time. In September, I went on the Bliss to Alaska. I had gone on the Ruby last September to Alaska. The cruise on the Bliss was a far better experience. The ship is beautiful. The entertainment is far superior to Princess. Most people get amenities when they book. I don’t drink, so I typically choose the dinner package. The specialty restaurants are fun and good. My steaks in Cagney’s were better quality than the Crown Grill, IMO. I never experienced nickel and diming any more than any other ship. I, also, bid up to a great balcony cabin on the Bliss. Last year, I was offered an upsell on the Ruby which I was happy with. I paid less for the upsell on the Bliss than on the Ruby. I had no issues with any booking or checking in on the Bliss. My friends had no issues either. Everyone I dealt with was happy and helpful. The staff all had great attitudes. I did pre-book our activities because I read on CC here that it would be wise to do so. None of the specialty restaurants were ever full when we went there. We never had trouble getting seats at the shows that we reserved, but we did get there early. Jersey Boys on the Bliss and Rock of Ages on the Breakaway are the best shows I’ve seen on a cruise ship. The Beatles tribute shows in the Cavern were always packed and there were no reservations for that. The food was all good. I like the buffet better on the NCL ships by far and that includes the Royal class ships. I’m okay with the buffet on the Royal class ships, but it is confusing and too spread out. I agree that there aren’t enough pools on the NCL ships, but I’m no longer a pool person. I miss MUTS on NCL. The only disappointment with my Alaska cruise was that glacier cruising was cancelled due to a medical emergency and that is out of everyone’s control. I’m going on the Regal soon. It will be interesting to compare. I have to say that NCL is doing a lot right. NCL is getting better and Princess is not what it once was. I still love Princess , but I have to admit that NCL is winning me over. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  19. I booked a sailaway for my upcoming Alaska cruise on the Bliss. I don’t drink, so I decided I didn’t need the amenities for an extra $1000. I bought a dinner package for $87. I was assigned an inside cabin that was pretty far forward, but not bad in any way as far as I can tell. I bid for an upsell and was given a mid-ship balcony. I’m really happy with how it all worked out. I was on the Ruby Princess for 2 cruises last year and both cruises were fine. At one port in Alaska, Juneau maybe, many of the excursions come back at the same time and the lines to get back on the ship can be horrible if you get in that mix. I’m sure that could happen on any ship if timing is unfortunate. For me, it was bad last year because it was pouring rain the whole time. They had two lines to reboard. Princess is fine for me and it’s my normal cruise line of choice, but I’m really liking NCL lately. I hope you enjoy it. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  20. I use battery operated tea lights from the dollar store. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  21. I’m going on 3 cruises this fall. I will be sailing with 10 people during these cruises (not all on all 3 cruises) and I met 9 of 10 of the people on cruises. Some of them I’ve known for over 15 years. I’ve been very lucky and blessed. I’ve had a great time. Sent from my iPad using Forums
  22. Thanks again for all your thoughts. I appreciate it. It makes me feel better that I’m not the only one who feels this way. I simply don’t want all the worries. I completely forgot about the World Cup. I’ll be sure to take that into consideration. ❤️ Thanks. Sent from my iPad using Forums
