  1. Yes I was and another type of blood thinner tablet which I just had to take for a year.
  2. Yes we had one delivered every day but they were two days behind, I didn’t explain that properly! For example on the Tuesday we’d get the transactions from Friday and so on.
  3. Yes indeed, I was so glad I went to the GP that day.
  4. Looking forward to hear more about your trip megabear, hope your bag arrives soon and you have a great cruise.
  5. I wish I’d been offered statins earlier, all I had was 5 yearly ‘well woman’ checks. When they said my cholesterol was raised a bit I got it down by diet and had a checkup 3 months later. Then I was forgotten about until the next 5 years. Then I went to my GP with chest pains, was immediately put on statins and BP medication and I thought ‘this is a bit over the top I haven’t had any tests yet’ A week later (in 2018) I was sent to a ‘chest pain clinic’ at the hospital and she wrote in her notes ‘untreated cholesterol since 2010’ I was sent for an angiogram and from that had my stent. Luckily I was employed by Lloyds Bank at the time and we had Bupa cover through them for £5 a month. That meant I got my stent in two weeks instead of the at least 12 week wait at the hospital. I’ll be forever grateful for that Bupa cover.
  6. Have a fabulous cruise, look forward to hearing all about it.
  7. Do you remember looking them up on microfiche? If a customer had a query they had to wait two days for us to get the microfiche!
  8. Afternoon all, we did get out yesterday, went to Hole gardens near Rolvenden. The sun eventually came out but it wasn’t wall to wall sunshine as predicted. However we left home with grey skies and it was the same when we came home so we were glad we went.
  9. Yes this annoys me greatly as after my stent my insurance has obviously risen. I can tell by the questions I’m at the lower end as it were eg have you had a heart attack (no) how many stents (1) but that cholesterol question bugs me. My cholesterol level is pretty low since I was put on the statins but I bet there are loads of people walking around now with very high levels who have no idea.
  10. It’s been poor here for weeks. This weekend is supposed to be good though.
  11. Re Eurovision I’d got fed up of it in recent years and sadly didn’t see Sam actually get second. I’d got fed up of all the weird voting. However I’m all for it this year, Liverpool is a fantastic city and I’ve enjoyed all the feel good factor around it. I think our entry has got a good chance. We brought some wine and snacks today ready to watch tomorrow.
  12. Morning all, absolutely chucking it down here now. We actually had a nice day yesterday, but back to gloom again, would really like summer to arrive now. Supposed to be nice tomorrow so hopefully we’ll go on a little jaunt.
  13. Those names really made me laugh 😆 Reminds me when I was in a Knightsbridge park a few years ago !
  14. My Dad has a floppy heart valve and it wasn’t picked up until he was 60 or 70! They said he was probably born with it too, he’s 85 now.
  15. Oh I hate that, luckily covid put paid to that and it hasn’t returned- yet! I have been known not to answer the door if I’m not expecting anyone 😆Hubby said to me ‘you can’t do that’ and I said It’s my house I can do what I want!
  16. Loved Dinner Ladies, Victoria Wood is sadly missed.
  17. So pleased to hear from you @kalos and glad you got away to lovely Funchal. Your hotel room and balcony look fantastic even it there were some problems. I feel quite emotional reading all the responses here, what a lovely community we have here. I’m off to bed now feeling all warm and fuzzy 😊
  18. Ok then my hot food and toast!
  19. I do think it’s a bit ridiculous, I pick up a juice and my breakfast plate, I often get a bowl of fruit and some hot items but I haven’t got three hands! Oh well… not the end of the world but it means loads of people will be going up and down constantly.
  20. Morning all, I enjoyed the concert overall, my favourite bit was definitely the light show and the drones, especially the blue whale. I also enjoyed watching the Royals dancing and singing 😁 These Bank Holidays are good when my day off is Tuesday 😊 Of course I’ll have my grandson today which is lovely. He had ‘parents evening’ last week and he is so good at his phonics that his teacher is giving him extra work. Of course I knew that anyway 😊
  21. You must have some sort of immunity from it! When our children had chickenpox my husband couldn’t remember if he’d had it but as he didn’t catch it from them we decided he must have had . I was 11 when I had and it was nasty then.
  22. Love raspberry but nowadays the seeds get in my teeth so prefer strawberry now.
