Where does the boat dock in Key West
Sea saw 56 replied to conniehar's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
My understanding is - To go on a military installation in the United States you must have either a Passport OR a Real ID. We didn't feel the need to get our Real ID (more paperwork must be produced) for years to fly, since we held a Passport. It doesn't have to do with the port, it is being on a military installation. -
Fantastic, Thank you Charles!

I can see on a Bermuda Webcam that the (NCL) Ferry to St. Georges picks people up on the inside of the pier where the cruise ships dock. Where does the Ferry to Hamilton pick up passengers?

We disembarked at Boston in October. My SIL had too many bags with her and was pulled out of the escalator line, told she must use the elevator. She was barely a minute behind us getting down to the baggage hall, very few of leaving the haven were using the elevator. Wasn't an issue on that day anyway. Hope the same applies to you.

Thank you so much Charles

We will arrive in Bermuda (first time in Bermuda) April 14th on the Gem for 3 days. Is it correct to assume we will be able to get to: St. Georges (free) via NCL Ferry Hamilton (buy tokens there in the Dockyard) via Public Ferry Both from the Dockyard in mid-April?

Alaska out of Seattle.....where to stay
Sea saw 56 replied to Beer Belly's topic in West Coast Departures
I agree with Laszlo, the Edgewater could not be more convenient. We stayed there our last Alaska cruise. Cab from the airport was easy. The Edgewater has a nice bar and very nice restaurant that serves breakfast, dinner, and we even had snacks and bar food there when we arrived for happy hour. We woke in the morning to look out the window and see the NCL Spirit sitting right in front of our window waiting for us. A very short stroll, even with winter weighted-down luggage, being dragged by a 70 some year old man with a new knee replacement. It's not the cheapest place to stay, but we loved it and the atmosphere overlooking the harbor. There is also another major brand hotel, prolly less expensive, right across the street from it. Could be a Marriott (?) that many people stay at. I am sure someone will chime in with the name of it. Several restaurants there on the water front. -
Is it the end for stops in Bar Harbor?

We are diamond and have only cruised in Haven/full suite. -
Is it the end for stops in Bar Harbor?
Sea saw 56 replied to Laszlo's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We were in Bar Harbor last October. We had visited there on Dawn and Jewel class ships several times. The wait last October to tender back to the Pearl after our shore excursion was crazy. The line wrapped around several times and stretched as far as you could see on down the street. We were in line nearly an hour - and would have been afraid we would miss our ship if so many of our shipmates weren't standing there in line with us. We weren't really late getting back from our ship sponsored excursion either. I can not imagine what it would be like on one of the away class ships, and I am not one that usually minds tendering. -
We take passport, room card, some cash/credit card, phone. We always cut the name and number of the port agent from the front page of the dailies and put it with our money just in case.

One of our favourite suites ever was 9316 (Aft Penthouse with Master Bedroom and Large Balcony) on the Getaway/Breakaway. While not in the haven proper you can spend as much time there as you like. You are as welcome there as any other suite dweller. It is a bit of a walk, but hey, we enjoy the walk and it certainly doesn't hurt to get the extra exercise if physically able. The suite has one of the largest balconies you will find. We had 2 padded loungers with a table between them, a table and 4 chairs that are under a covered area that we used in the rain, and there was enough room for a crowd out there! It has 2 bathrooms and a separate master bedroom. We were treated the same by the butler and concierge as we were accustomed to being treated in the Owners Suite or Garden Villa (your experience may vary). Would take one of the corner suites on 9 or 12 anyday - but preferred 9. There are several videos out there. You will not be disappointed

Our first Bermuda cruise is April 12-19. Are whale watching tours available in the port area? Don’t see any listed through NCL. -
Room service charge in non Haven suites?
Sea saw 56 replied to meglet's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We sailed in a 2 BR (non-haven) suite on the Pearl in October. We ordered a full breakfast in the suite on all mornings that we had shore excursions + disembarkation day. We did the same in a Penthouse Suite (non-haven) on the Spirit the previous fall. We were not charged. I anticipate that to be the case when we sail on the Gem, another 2 BR (non haven) suite in April. -

Sea saw 56 replied to swemto's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I will be watching your thread closely because I love your writing style. -
September of '22 we arrived in Juneau on the NCL Spirit. We anchored and had to tender in. It will depend on how many ships are in port the day you arrive.

Are Fresh Floral Arrangements Still Delivered To Suites?
Sea saw 56 replied to hernando52's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
We have not seen any fresh flowers the past 3 cruises. Instead, some type of green "cactus looking" thing in a small planter on the living room coffee table. Not even sure if it was fake or real. -
We have cruised from Miami, Port Canaveral, and Tampa. The least favorite was Port Canaveral…our favorite was Tampa.

Whats the cheapest way to get a haven room?
Sea saw 56 replied to justacruiser1's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Book early, we always know what room we want and it always goes up a lot before sail date. -
Continental Breakfast room service
Sea saw 56 replied to elliotlake12's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Is it "haven" suite, or just suite. We'll be in a 2 BR suite on the Pearl soon, we were able to order breakfast without a fee in that suite on the Dawn. -
Specialty Dinner on first night?
Sea saw 56 replied to RocketMan275's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Next best thing to a bottle of champs. One cruise we complained that out of two bottles, one was champagne and the other Prosecco. Butler said “it’s good, it’s Prosecco “. Learned to enjoy Prosecco after that 😊 -

Prosecco not really sweet, lower sugar champagne-like.
