  1. What is the normal rate per bag. One person tells me it $2-$3 bag and others tell me it's $5 bag.
  2. Yea the only thing you can do to ensure that your bag makes it on the ship is to make sure it goes on one of those carts. Not everyone has time to stand there and stare at their bags waiting fo rit to be loaded.
  3. The porters fight each other for the tips not caring what happens with the luggage.
  4. That was the only was they knew the bag never made it on the ship. Best investment you can make when it comes to travel.
  5. I agree. It's a very messy process they have when taking the bags and it would be very easy to walk off with someones bag
  6. How do you overlook a large bag. Not going to say it was intentional but would not put it past them to flag their bag because they felt the tip was inadequate. What is the normal rate for each bag when tipping
  7. They never got their bag. Thankfully it only had their nicer clothes, shoes and toiletries. Royal was able to assist with the bathroom stuff since they felt bad and gave them shipboard credit to use in the store for any meds/creams/etc. It was in Ft Lauderdale. The bag was waiting for them in an office but there were no apologies. They submitted a claim with their travel insurance to see if they are entitles to any compensation. They suspect the porter pushed it to the side since they only tipped $10 for the 3 bags.
  8. So our friends just returned from their cruise and one of their bags never made it on the ship after handing it to the porters. The only way they can tell it did not make it is because they had an apple airtag and they could see it still in the terminal after the ship was at sea. Has anyone ever done this and have any of you ever opted to skip the porters and bring your luggage on-board. I heard stories about them getting greedy with the tips and requesting more $$ for the bags (my friend told me they gave them $10 for 3 bags and they were wanting more.
  9. A while back we were on a cruise where the cabin next to us had a scooter. Every night they would park it in front of our cabin door blocking us in. We called the front desk to ask them to notify the cabin with the scooter not to park it there. After the 3rd call to the front desk, we heard the old man in the cabin next door cursing about us and basically saying "where else am I supposed to park it." The front desk forced the room steward to move it every night from the front of our cabin door to theirs.
  10. We just p[aid 72.99 PP on our upcoming cruise. The way we look at it, you must take advantage of everything the beverage package has to offer. We usually have 2 coffees each in the morning and those run about $5-$6 each plus we drink a lot of bottled water during the day. I believe they either have San Pellegrino or Evian. We have several drinks through the day. Just make sure you ask for top shelf liquor when ordering a drink. You may spend a little less without it or spend a lot more. It's nice not having to track every drink you purchased to make sure you do run up a huge bar bill. On our last cruise we opted not to get the beverage package and ended up spending $400 more than what the beverage package cost.
  11. So in the morning my wife and I will have 2 coffees each (Expresso and then a cappuccino). If I go by myself with both out sea cards, will they give me all 4 drinks or only 2 then go back in line for the other 2. Also does the same go for regular drinks?
  12. So my 3yo son is super picky and will only eat pizza and sometimes pasta with meatballs. What kind of menu items do they have in the MDR for kids or will I have to go to the buffet to give him food. Will wait staff accommodate to picky eaters?
  13. If we buy the beverage package now, is it refundable if we change our mind before we cruise?
  14. So a few questions. My wife and I are traveling with our Kids who are 8 and 4. The in-laws are also coming where we are staying in attached rooms. Wife and I plan on purchasing Beverage packages. Does Royal ever do good deals for the beverage packages on Black Friday or on the ship. On a previous cruise many years ago, we purchased a beverage package when we boarded where it was BOGO. Also, since there are 6 of us, can we request a window seat in the dining room when we board/check in?
