  1. Anything is possible. If you don’t like the cabin and see that one is available in the same category you might be able to change to that cabin. If you do that you it will usually be the cabin you get. Have done that in the past. Don’t mean that they still do that. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  2. It is if you want some free wine and have free time to kill. Usually 2 reds and 2 whites. They go over the basics about clarity, legs, aromas, and how to act as if you know what you doing when sampling a wine. it depends on who is giving it. Sometimes it is difficult to hear, or understand the presenter as their first language isn’t English. Drink the wine and enjoy the time. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. It depends on the quality of the glass. They make many different qualities. I have seen them for sale at Target, Bed, Bath, and Beyond, as other retailers. It depends on what quality of glass you want and what marketing ploy you bought into. Do they use Reidel glasses for wine competitions? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Personally wine tasted the best when cruising down the street with my date drinking it out of a bottle wrapped in a brown paper sack that was purchased with no questions asked back in the day. Cash was king. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  4. Yes you can. It has to be done about 3 days before the end of the cruise. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  5. Monitor your booked cruise on the Celebrity site thru the manage my cruise. Look at the section for food and drink where they show the liquor packages, upgrade, and etc. They occasionally offer discounts on the packages and upgrades. I purchased a discounted upgrade thru a sale that was less than $10/day pp. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. The quality is bar grade. They don’t serve the drinks in the expensive grade. That would be cost prohibited for many reasons such as thief, breakage, and hand wash. I was at a high end boutique wine store and there were Reidel glasses in a barrel. They were about $4. I asked about them being so cheap and also about just laying in a wine barrel. I was told that they are bar quality and it was to display that they can take a little abuse. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. Why would you chat with anyone in the Persian Gardens? It is supposed to be peaceful, relaxing, and quiet. Not a chat room. There are signs that many don’t see that request silence. They ignore it by talking on their phones, playing video games with the sound, or watching videos. Agree that the Persian Gardens on the M class really lacks. It is like sitting in a church pew in a dungeon and can get very personable with 4 or more people. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  8. If you purchase duty free liquor anywhere during the cruise it will be available in your cabin on the last night of that cruise. I am sure if you bought wine in a port it would also be the same. If you are purchasing duty free alcohol to take home the limit isn’t per cruise. I applies to a 30 day rolling period. The same with the duty free exemption on merchandise. This is for the US Customs. Put the wine limit for 2 in each carry on, and in each bag of luggage. Then what you buy during the cruise in the ports, or their shop adds up. Sometimes I have brought liquor on board from a port and it was just passed thru. ( actually told to drop off at the table but just kept walking πŸ™„). If they confiscate your wine what are you losing? Worth a try. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€—πŸ‘ 🀫
  9. Part of the email I received today about what the butler can do for you. interesting about the meals being served course by course. I have never received that. The food was dropped off on the table and that was it. Hope they now provide larger tables and better chairs. 3: We Will Make Reservations for You Whether you want to reserve a table at Luminae, the private restaurant exclusively for Retreat guests, or wish to dine in your suite, your Retreat Butler and team will act as your personal reservationist throughout your cruise. When dining in your suite, we’ll set the table, serve the meal course by course, then clean up afterward, while you enjoy a freshly made coffee or a glass of wine while gazing at the stars from your veranda. We will also book dining times at the other onboard specialty restaurants, as well as make appointments for spa treatments, fitness classes, and onboard special events such as cooking classes or lectures. We can also work with the onboard shore excursions team to arrange for Private Journeys excursions or Discovery Tours, or any other in-port sightseeing you might desire. 10. Here are photos of the deck plan. The OP also mentioned connecting to non suite cabins. These cabins would work. They are available on almost every deck with MC suites I don’t know how they are priced when used to connect to a suite as I am sure they would want the suite privileges and amenities. I don’t know what living space is but the deluxe inside cabin has a bed, sofa, and lav and is used like any other inside cabin. 11172, and 11176 can be connected to the MC suite by the door indicated by the line, or entered thru the common hallway. The cabins 11176 and 11158 are IV cabins that have a bed, lav, and sofa and can be accessed by the doors connecting to the MC suite or from the main hallway. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. The Edge class has Magic Carpet suites and adjacent inside, or IV rooms that can be connected Look on the deck plan. You can identify them by the line connecting them. We have been in the MG suites and asked the butler about them. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. If you are a Captain club member they have a promo of buying 3 and getting 4. Check your perks for your status. If it pre purchase at a discount rate you don’t get the extra card. You have to evaluate the offer. I was able to purchase 3 cards for $22 during a sale that worked out better than 3 @ $39 plus 1 bonus You can only pick up the cards during the time they go on sale. That is about 2 hours before the game. When you pick up the cards you have to have the sea pass card with the name of the person that they were purchased for. I found out the hard way. Stood in line for 45 minutes while my wife held our seats. Got to the front and the cards were in her name. I had to go get her sea pass card. The salesperson said that I could just come to the front of the line. Sure. There were 3 others also doing the same and it was an uneasy feeling getting the looks and jeers from those in the regular line as she sandwiched us in. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. I went to a bar and asked for the drink of the day. The BT asked what it was. I showed him the daily paper. He said there is no special price. I asked the cruise director about the drink of the day and he said it is just a suggestion of a drink to drink that day. Occasionally they will have a special price on a bucket of beer on limited brands, buy 5 and pay for 6. 😱πŸ€ͺπŸ€—. Or is it the other way???? The first day on a cruise years ago I went to a bar and told the BT that I read on CC that if I give him a generous tip he would serve me free drinks. It was a 7 day cruise. He told me that if I gave him around $500 he would give me all the drinks I wanted and would let the other BTs know to do the same. He sold me the premium drink pack. πŸ»πŸ§‰πŸΉπŸ₯€πŸΎπŸ₯‚πŸ§‹πŸ₯ƒπŸΊπŸΈπŸ· Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  14. I have been on cruises where there were over 1500 elite and above. Elite status is very common. The tenders serve those that have tours thru the cruise first. Then the other priorities like suites and etc. in reality everyone has a priority that is next in line. One time we were in a AI resort on an island. We booked a snorkeling tour and basically ran to get to the designated meet up area at 8:30 as requested. We got there and no one was around. A few others showed up and about 9:15 one of the workers showed up. We were rather irritated about having to rush to get there by 8:30 and then wait. Answer. You are on vacation it is Caribbean time, don’t rush relax. Our tour left around 10. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. The few ports that I have been to there are signs that indicate suites and Zenith check in areas. You need to look for that. From my experience there is no one directing or redirecting you to that area. If you go to the regular check in area they won’t acknowledge you as being in a suite or being zenith and will just process you thru where you will end up in the general waiting area. When arriving at the port ask where the suite check in area is. It can easily be missed because there may be a group people hanging around in front of the sign waiting to enter before their allotted time, or the rest of their group. 17. You could or couldn’t refare? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. I think you are saying that you couldn’t. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  18. Back in the 60’s I was working at Dodge Main. We got a β€œemployee discount” on Chrysler products. I went to a dealer and got a price on a Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi. After he gave me the price I said I am a Chrysler employee and get a discount. He said what discount do you want to use? The 15% customer discount that I gave you or the 15% employee discount. I left and bought a 1966 Chevy Nova SS with 327, 365 HP Mickey Thompson enhanced engine. The hemi’s and GTO’s were slugs compared to that car and the car cost less. I wish I had that car today. I also had a 63 Vette it was fun but had a lot of issues, the Nova was my favorite. Discounts are marketing tools to make you think you are getting a bargain on an inflated price that some may pay. 19. Depends on what you like. It is best to visit every bar and ask what they have in stock. It changes from cruise to cruise and also during the cruise when they get restocked by the wine brought on at the cruise port. The WCB, Martini, and Craft bars all serve wine and so does Cafe al Bacio. There are also bars in the Buffet. if you like a certain style or type of wine ask as they might also have a bottle left over that they no longer stock. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  20. I think the question is maybe mostly used for the cruise trip insurance and also air travel thru the cruise line. Residency could also be used for maybe sales tax charged by your state or the laws that they have regarding the contract. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. It deends on when you booked your cruise and the promo perks you received. I have cruises booked in a SS where I have the perks of premium drink pack, premium wifi, gratuities, and OBC. Those were the perks when I booked the cruise. If I book a SS now it includes the perks of a premium drink pack, and premium wifi. These are perks of a promo and not amenities of a SS. No perks of OBC or gratuities are included. I will be charged the daily rate for the gratuities Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. I don’t know how they get paid but they like being there. And yes I think most guests tip them during the cruise. 125 suites at an average of $10 per suite/ cruise not bad and is probably tax free. I know they like being there because on one cruise the BT told me that it will be their last day there because a customer complained that they had to wait too long to be served and they were sad because they really liked working there. There may be more to that but I was only told their side of the story. As someone said no matter how thin you slice the ham there is always 2 sides. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. Another hotel to check out in Key West is the Mansion on the sea. It is at the end of Duval, near the ocean and has a beach Very nice place https://www.themansiononthesea.com Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. Here are a few that aren’t tourist traps. They are very popular but not known to the turkeys as they aren’t on Duval. Blue Haven Moon dog cafe Kaya restaurant Give them a google and check out the reviews. They are all about 5 star rating based on the reviews. May have wait to get seated depending on the time. if you want a really nice place to stay check out Santa Maria Suites. It is at about one block from the end of Duval that is near the most southern marker . Very luxurious and not cheap but still cheaper than a suite/day pp on Celebrity and with 2 to the room you will still have a lot of money left to spend on more food and drinks than you could indulge in. Plus you could buy liquor at a store to have in your room or at the pool or beach. Liquor prices in Fl are very cheap at Total Wine or Costco The hotel also has a manger’s reception.
