  1. In your cabin there will be a little sea pass/ credit card holder. It has 3 slots. If you lose it GR will replace it and void the other card. I always keep my pass in that when on board and leave my wallet in the safe. I have found that the door can be opened with the card inside the holder. No need to take out for that When going on shore I will also take that holder. I will also put my passport card, credit card and some cash in it. That is all I need. My wallet stays in the safe. 2. No. I wouldn’t like to see that happen. If it did it would turn out like many other loyalty programs where there are so many getting into the higher levels that those levels becomes meaningless and the benefits become reduced or eliminated. It would dilute the program. I belonged to a casino rewards program like many others. They started applying points for credit card use. The highest level was diamond. Now that level has few benefits or status. It was replaced by ruby, platinum, and now I think black plus there are also a more exclusive level that is obtained thru gaming and not from credit card use. . Zenith is hard to obtain as it should be, but it will become the equivalent of select if they start rewarding points for credit card use. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  3. They limit restaurants that are open on port days to give the crew a chance to get off of the ship. They do a rotating duty in those that are open. That is why they are still open on port days if it is a late arrival. They can’t get off the ship and all of the passengers are still on board. The buffet would be worse than embarkation day if the other places weren’t open. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  4. Get the app Drinks Free. It has recipes for as many drinks as you would ever need, want, or don’t want. Plus many variations of the same drink. There is also a feature where you can list the available ingredients and liquors and it will list recipes you can make with them. Drink up πŸ₯ƒπŸ§‹πŸ₯‚πŸΎπŸ₯€πŸΉπŸ§‰πŸ»
  5. Short answer we loved it. It is in the middle of the ship. The bed doesn’t face the balcony and I don’t see the problem. We had a SS where the bed faced the balcony and it didn’t really do anything for us. The bath doesn’t have the window to look out. Not a big deal. I know many may think it is special. The balcony is large enough to have 2 loungers on it. I will gladly trade the bed facing the balcony and the bath window for those. We spend a lot of time on the balcony. The Magic Carpet is 2 decks above. It provides extra shade and protection from the elements plus there are cabins above instead of a public area. You can also look along the side of the ship through the side window, and yes they can see you. Also the other SS may have a pole in the balcony area. The SS are units of 4. The 2 middle units have a pole. Those balconies are also not as deep as the MC suites. We were able to use the stairs most of the times as we can climb a few flights to go to the retreat areas even though I have had both hips replaced. It all depended on how we felt. Some also may like the other suites as they are closer to the retreat areas but they will still take the elevator instead of the stairs. One flight or 2 doesn’t matter if you take the elevator. All of the retreat areas are at the front of the ship. Yes it would be a long walk. In the MC a you are basically in between the elevator and stair banks. Equal walk any way you want to go. Elevators came rather quickly. Hope it helps to decide. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  6. The problem was the cost of the wine was $10 over the price limit covered by the premium package. I think the price limit was $17 and that wine per glass was $27. I told him that I had the premium and didn’t want to go over that. When he suggested the wine and poured me to taste I again asked if it was covered and he said yes it is $10. To me that was meaning the cost per glass was $10 and covered by the premium package. What he meant was it was $10 over the limit even though I told him a few times I don’t want to go over the limit of the premium pack. Then to be charged for 6 glasses of wine when I say in total I only drank about 2 1/2 glasses because he kept topping off when it was still 1/2 to 3/4 full and I didn’t finish the last full glass. At the time I thought it was just good wine service when all he was after was the additional gratuity of $2/glass. My wife had a white wine that she asked for. It was in the premium package. Funny that he didn’t top her glass as many time as he did mine. I think her glass got refilled once and at that time it was almost empty. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  7. If the ship still has a library you will find a few of the cookbooks that people left. We did a chefs table. I had a premium drink pack. I mention that to the sommelier. He suggested a red wine. I tried it and it was ok, nothing special just red wine. I am not a wine expert or connoisseur. I asked if it was covered by the package and he said yes it is $10. Fine. My glass would get between 1/2 and 3/4 full and he would top it off. At the end of the dinner and he started to top it off again and I told him not to. I think I left about 3/4 of it. He then gave me a bill to sign. It was for 6 glasses of wine at $10 per plus the gratuity. I asked why I was getting it and he said because it was $10 over the premium allowance. I didn’t want to make a scene so I signed it. It was for $72. I took the receipt and went to GR and told them the problem. The next day I got a call. The charge was taken off and they were sorry for the misunderstanding. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…

  9. You were invited? Does that mean that you didn’t have to pay for it? What category of suite were you in? When sailing in a suite we would get approached by the Sommelier trying to sell us a wine experience, and by the Maitre D to purchase one of those dining experiences. They would say that there are a few openings if interested. We were never offered it for free. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  10. Smokers don’t realize how they reek from their smoke. It is really bad when you have a seat in the theater or lounge and a smoker sits next or around you. It is also a problem on a confined bus tour. That is why we no longer take tours. On the Edge class the smoking areas are usually: Port side areas are deck 4 rear outside of Eden, Sunset bar, and rear of pool area. Starboard is the Mast Bar. My wife will get migraines and I can feel your pain seeing what she goes thru. I don’t get migraines but I break out in hives from the smell of cigarette smoke. Hope this helps Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  11. You don’t need to attend the beyond the podium unless there is nothing else to do. It is always shown on the in room TV and runs continuously. Do some channel surfing and you will find it. It may be on the CD channel. I think that is why the presentation may not be well attended. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  12. I don’t know what kind of zoo the comedian is referring to as all the zoos that I have been to are organized and under control with the animals confined in pens, or cages. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ It appears to be more of a jungle where the animals are running wild. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  13. The difference would be if the bed is by the balcony or lavatory. Also if the head of the bed is towards the front of the ship or the rear. The later may affect those with motion issues that have a problem with the way they are moving when laying down. The cabin may have an obstructed view, be too far from the stairs or elevators, be near a public area, or have one above or below. Other differences would be the deck level and location that affect the movement in the cabin. The cabin may also be close to a smoking area. Depending on your preference. Some cabins in the same category also have larger balconies. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  14. In St Maarten you should try walking to town instead of taking the water taxi. It is a 1/2 mile walk. Along the way you can see mountain goats in the cliff on the opposite side of the road. Crabs and etc in the draining ditch along the walkway. There are a few beverage stands, and also people with coolers selling beer, and other drinks for a few dollars to drink along the way. There is also a cheese store that provides samples. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  15. There is also monitor as you enter the buffet that shows what the daily themes will be for the entire cruise. It may take a few minutes of watching to get to the screen that shows it. I would suggest having your phone ready to take a photo when it pops up. I think it is near the port side entrance Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  16. When in a suite I have a hard time not dining in Luminae on sea days. Eden is nice for their chocolate cookies and brownies. It is a hard choice between Luminae and Eden Cafe on sea days. We will have lunch in Luminae and then go to Eden Cafe and stock up on their brownies and Cookies. Their cookies are different than those served at Cafe al Bacio and the buffet. Have a little and keep the rest of for later on. Chocolate and bourbon makes a nice combo. I suggest to try the Chocolate Pill for desert in Luminae if you love chocolate. It is on the Daniel Buolard (sp) option at the bottom of the main dinner menu every night in Luminae. It is easy to miss when the desert menu is delivered because it isn’t on it. So you have to remember to order it. Or just take a photo of the main menu and look it when ordering a desert. Tip also order a scoop of gelato or ice cream to go with it. Honestly I can’t tell the difference so I get the flavor that I want and is available. I think gelato has less cream so it doesn’t have as many calories. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  17. You need to try all of the bars. What I could tell you today will change tomorrow. I like old fashions. It doesn’t take me long to find the bar and BT that makes it the correct way (the way that I like it). Same bar different BT and the drink is different. I will tell them how I like it and they still can’t get it right. The BTs in the retreat lounge will normally make the drinks the way you like. I usually start out with asking for an Old Fashion to give it a try. You never know, I may like it better than the way that i usually drink them. You have a drink pack. Try as many drinks as you think you may like. EX at the Martini Bar I order a drink. Don’t like it then looking at the menu based on that drink I can eliminate many others as they are just a variation. I don’t like real sweet foo foo drinks so I usually avoid those frozen drinks at the pool. I may occasionally give one a try but end up leaving it. You need to find the bar, and BT on your own On our last cruise on the Constellation in a suite we spent most of our bar time in the Retreat Lounge, and Cellar Masters. Never sat at the Martini bar, Rendezvous, or any outside bars. We found the bar and BTs that we liked. Prior to that cruise we were also in a suite and spent most of our bar time in the Retreat lounge, Craft Social, Eden, and Martini Bar. The time before on the Beyond we spent a lot of time at the World Class bar. The BTs changed and so did some of their drinks, especially paying extra for a drink that use to be included in the premium pack. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…

  20. Never noticed it. I had to go to the website to see what this thread was referring to. Sometimes when there is too much it is like you can’t see the forest for the trees. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  21. It use to be the prepaid gratuities, $400 pp SBC, premium bev pack, premium wifi. and butler. On our last cruise in a SS we didn’t have a dedicated butler but have heard that they are rolling out the service again starting on the Edge Class ships. May take some time to staffing the whole fleet. New bookings don’t include the gratuities or any SBC. Everything is nice but the way the prices are I doubt we will be booking anymore in a suite. Can’t justify the extra cost. I know people will say once you try a suite you will never go back. Not true. We have done it a few times and not missed it. We booked our next 3 cruises in AQ and won’t do a move up bid. Enjoy it while you can and don’t chase after what others do. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  22. Do you think? I am sure that they regret commissioning her. Too bad they let her ruin the other ships during their upgrading before waking up. I do have to congratulate Kelly for giving them a bigger con job than P. T. Barnum, and snow job than Colonel Parker. Shame on those that approved the final designs. They should all be canned. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  23. The big winner is not designed by Kelly Hoppen. I wonder why they made that comment????πŸ™„ Adding 12 more cabins with a capacity of 4 people will also add 12 to 48 more passengers in Luminae with the normal being 24. The area isn’t that large and If they add more tables it will be very congested Happy to see that they are going to have a walk in shower instead of those dangerous bath tubs. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  24. If you booked thru a big box warehouse your cruise won’t be eligible. I think there is also a clause that pertains to group rates not being eligible. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
  25. We usually sail in AQ and occasionally a suite depending on the price point. I have heard many comments that the suites and AQ get the best room attendants and servers. I don’t know where they get that info. We had some that were rookies. It was their first time ever on a cruise ship. We have had some bad ones but overall they have been good. Happy cruising πŸŒŠπŸš’πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŒ…
