  1. Thanks for all the updates while you were on the Equinox. I hope you made it home without any complications.

I have read that the debarkation process in Miami is usually pretty fast and easy. I assumed that was because the passengers cleared customs in Key West. What was your debarkation process like?

We were just on the Equinox as well. We got off of the ship at around 9:00 am. From the time we got off until the time we were in the van to the airport it was only 14 minutes!!! Fastest debarkation we have ever experienced!

  2. R u sure u didn't take Dramamine? Dramamine will definately make you sleepy. Some people report drowsy-ness with bonine but it's sold as 'non-drowsy'; it doesn't make me even a little bit drowsy, though feeling a little seasick and then having that wear of will put me out. May have been a combination of the two. Bonine shouldn't make you that drowsy

I was thinking the same thing. I stopped taking Dramamine cuz of the drowsiness and now swear by bonine since it is non drowsy

  3. I would never book a Caribbean cruise in September. It is too risky. Unfortunately people will book cruises during hurricane season. Stupid? Risky? Attracted to a low price? Whatever the reason, the ship's fill their cabins. We know people who book Caribbean cruises during hurricane season. They are hooked in by the cheap prices. Wonder how many people will wish they had stayed home.

We booked for a September cruise. We knew it was hurricane season, but having lived in a hurricane prone area we took the chance hoping that we would be good to go. It wasn't cheap either as we just booked in July. It is our "empty nester" get away. Since we decided to go last minute this was pretty much our only option. Now we sit and wonder if we will sail next week and if not where will we go? Would we book again in the future during hurricane season? Probably not, but do we regret doing it? No.........and the cruise is sold out.

  4. With Irma causing so much damage I have been wondering what Celebrity might do about the upcoming cruise on September 15 if Miami sustains too much damage. Royal Caribbean is delaying some of their cruises that are suooosed to sail this weekend and will change ports if need be. They have mentioned Tampa, but I guess Equinox can't go there. When Harvey hit, ships couldn't get into Galveston so a couple of them went to New Orleans. The current passengers on the Equinox have to get off somewhere. Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced anything like this before. Once the Equinox sails hopefully the cruise will be good since it goes to Grand Cayman and the ABC islands and finishing in the Keys.

  5. Which package?

The soda package covers soda only so if you want a caffe latte or a juice (other than what is in the dispensers) or a bottled water you pay for the whole drink price, as I understand it.

Then there are the non-alcoholic drink packages. They cover many drinks beyond just sodas.

There is no package named "soft drink package".

Yes there is a soda only package. It is for soda only and juice would have to be purchased, unless you get it at breakfast when it is included in the buffet, but not sure what juice you are looking for. The juice in the machines aren't "real"juice...if that makes sense

  6. Having sailed on both Celebrity and Carnival, there is no comparison!! Celebrity is MUCH better in all aspects, especially if you aren't taking your kids. My kids first Celebrity was when they were 14 and 16 and they even liked it better than Carnival. Enjoy! You will love it!

  7. chicagopaul, on your survey you could include that EVERYONE who works on the web site must be made to book an actual cruise, book excursions and pay for them online before being able to continue working on the site.

I'd also be interested in hearing if LLP disembarks early and if anything changes once she's off the ship. Someone on a previous Presidents cruise indicated things changed after she left early on theirs .

Great live thread so far. Thankx

Couldn't agree more! We have a cruise booked for Mid September. I have done checkin and prInted our Xpress pass a few weeks ago and today I received an email saying that I need to do it! What? Really?!

  8. I think the connecting cabins on Solstice have the connection via a reconfigurable hall entrance rather than via a through the wall connection; if so, then are they really noisier than a regular cabin?

No they aren't. We have had connecting cabins and didn't even use it with the hall entrance. We just had our balcony opened up.

  9. I can get into my account but the problem is that it shows that we haven't done our check in yet. Not only have we done it, but we have already printed our Xpress pass. Now what do I do? Check in again, or assume all is good? .....we all know what happens when we assume things 😜

  10. When an upgrade is done on board the bartender that does the upgrade gets the tips for it. I had heard about this, but didn't confirm until we heard from a bartender that is on our upcoming cruise. We are friends on Facebook and he confirmed that if we upgrade with him he will get the tip, so I'm sure we will get asked a million times, but will wait and upgrade with him.

  11. I would definitely go with 9288..9235..or 9272. We prefer port side so personally I would choose 9235. We love the cabins on the hump. There is a smoking area on the port side but we have never had a problem smelling smoke. If you are concerned then go with 9288 or 9272. Also, on S class ships the cabins don't connect inside the cabin so I wouldn't worry about that.

  12. We did our online check in, printed the Xpress pass and received our luggage tags a few weeks ago and now the stupid website says that we have to complete our check in! Since I already have our Xpress pass printed off I'm not sure that I should even attempt to access our reservation again. Afraid that if I do it all over again the same thing will happen 😡😤

  13. Hmmm - how do you propose the cruise line proves they are potty trained? And by the way, "yours" may be trained, but do you want them swimming with one that is not, regardless what their parents claimed?

All I was saying is how can you really put an age limit on it. Yes, mine were trained early yet I know some kids who weren't trained until they were 4!! It's a tough call!! I'm just glad that if kids are in swim diapers the parents are asked to remove them from the pool!!
