Thanks, where do I find sunset in Juneau on May 14?
I often look at a weather website to see how many hours of sunlight there will be each day. I like to see how quickly the amount of daylight increases after December.

We are also going to alaska cruise in mid may first time cruiser - i am hearing this yesr winter started late and wondering if it going to be very cold - can some one from alaska or have just returned from cruise please le me know
Thanks a million
What is very cold to you? It was in the 40s today in Anchorage and people are out in everything from flip flops and shorts to jeans and sweatshirts.

Don't let the worry of rain stop you. Pack some rain gear and enjoy! If I let the rain and snow stop me I'd rarely be outside!

Mosquito bite reported in Eagle River last Saturday.

Kamloops and martincath, thank you for the taxi info.

My 100% Italian fiancé would not balk at the garlic - it's sliced so not as strong in the sauce - but a half teaspoon of red pepper flakes?! It's supposed to be angry!

Thank you for the detailed comparison. I considered RC for a fall cruise, but wasn't sure. I would feel more comfortable doing so now.

PUERTO CHIAPAS CONTINUED
Our last stop was at a small cocoa plantation for a chocolate making demonstration

Interesting pictures. I never realized how much the outside of a cocoa pod looks like a delicata squash!

Brief hijack? What you should have done is to start a completely new thread since your topic has absolutely nothing to do with the topic of thread. That would have been the polite thing to do.
Note to moderator - can you remove all the offending posts about CE course.
DON
There has been more than one apology about the hijack. There have been other hijacks, such as several posts about shoe shopping, but everyone seems to take it in stride. What I have not seen is a contribution by you related to the topic, other than to complain about a particular hijack - seems arbitrary.

One more hijack :D- aknursemom
Check out continuingeducation.net and CMEatsea.org. They both offer all kinds of CME cruises.
Thanks for the info! Fiance`and I are both psych NPs, so we want some pharm credits. I checked out some of the offerings. I think we are going to try one out next March!

I read about this brand of waterproof shoes in one of the guide books. It's called Xtratuf and they are known as the Alaskan sneaker. I found a pair of deck shoes on Amazon and they have been very comfortable. I bought the women's Finatic but I'm also considering buying the Chumrunner. Thanks for all of the suggestions.
I saw 5 different people walking around in these yesterday on my morning run around the park strip. Very soggy right now with the all the snow melting!

Similar popularity to any other destination. If he really wants to do it, he better hustle to Guest Services right away on boarding and sign up.
Thank you for the information. We are going to the port early and have splurged on a suite, so hopefully we will be boarding early enough to make it happen. My plan is to go straight to signing up.

We are in one of the older cabins , a minisuite starboard side aft, the cabin itself is a little tired but it does have the new mattress and 2 new flat sceen TV's which are mounted to the wall. As far as our cabin we picked it for the location, very little foot traffic passing by and it has a fully covered

Thank you for the cabin information. The TV placement is an improvement!

Is the UTS any more or less popular on Alaska cruises? It is my fiance's first cruise and his heart is set on doing this.

Thank you for the information on Club class dining!

Did you order room service from the MDR menu? How did you find the suite breakfast? Looking forward to our first suite in a few weeks and appreciate your descriptions!

Apologies to the OP for this brief hijack of the thread!!!!!
If you Google various terms like: psychology continuing education cruise (substitute mental health, psychiatry, etc for psychology; substitute CE, CEU, professional development, etc. for continuing education. It varies how different courses apply the terminology to their activity)
Also look at the various companies who you likely get brochures or emails from about CE courses as some of them offer cruises from time to time. I don’t think CC allows specific companies to be identified so I won’t be specific. The are a LOT for CME credits so your board may or may not allow that for your particular licensure.
Be aware that you can easily spend a long time on Google searching these out; they don’t come along often enough so you have to be persistent. We’d love it if we could do a CE cruise every year but either I can’t find one, can’t find one that the dates or cost works, or can’t find one that has a topic we want to do!
Hope this helps at least a bit:)
Have you been able to get any pharm cme from the cruises?
-
Good luck with the fit; hope you can sort that out. I plan on wearing knee high socks that are wool but aren’t any thicker than usual cotton socks worn with tennis shoes. Don’t ask me where I got them as I’ve had them for about a million years-lol
[Personal note to sunpsyche: there are often mental health continuing ed cruises! We’ve done about 8 of them over the years; get about 12 hours on sea days.]
Deleted. I see my question was answered!

Any reports on the cabins? Do you happen to be in one of the newer ones?
-
Thank you for posting the patters and all of the wonderful pictures! I'm looking forward to more!
-
Thank you for posting! I am sailing on Island in 36 days and am very interested in anything you have to report!

Fine quality sandpaper is available in the bathroom by the roll. 80 grit, I believe.

I don't understand why they can't have admission to Saxman Village for both the bus tours and some places for independents. Same with the Salmon bakes. Mt Roberts and Mendenhall glacier does it. Maybe it is different somehow.

I think you can go to the village regardless. Not sure about the native dancing. But if if it's the totems you're interested in, you can get in to see those. Will you be in Anchorage at all? The Alaska Native center is a great place to visit and they have dancing there, too.

I am unable to sign in. It says they are having technical difficulties. Guess I can't obsessively check my cruises today!
Water no longer available for pre-purchase!!

Probably, but why jack up the price to be three times what it used to cost? I can see an increase but not as high as what they did all at once.
