  1. Wallyj, thank you for the information. Well, the Patters I have may be out of date anyway, because they are from the last week of May and the first week of June.
  2. Thanks for the information and clarification. The only Princess cruise I had taken after the completed changeover to the current structure was in early 2019, but it was a group with many group activities so not our typical experience. Wallyj, is Callie Smit still the Entertainment Director?
  3. Thanks Wallyj and Mvaldes. We are on a b2b beginning 24 Aug. I was hoping Corinne would still be the cruise director because then the Princess Patters I have that were posted from a b2b in June should still be somewhat accurate. Usually when a new cruise director takes over, the schedule of activities changes. Oh well!
  4. Is Corinne Steel the Cruise Director? Also, please let us know where the Grand docked on your second stop at Skagway. It sounds like so far tendering has not been necessary. Hopefully that continues.
  5. PhotoGal07, I have really enjoyed the review and especially, the photos. By any chance do you have copies of the Patters and menus?
  6. Have you been in contact with the Celebrity disabled services office? What airline is this? If an American airline, they also have to have a special disabled services group. The fact that your husband uses a wheelchair was told to the CVP. Did this same person booked the air or did they communicate with the Celebrity air group. Did you ever get a form or anything from Celebrity about your husband's disability needs? I am guessing that the person booking didn't send you anything. The form is on the Celebrity website, but if you book directly with Celebrity, they are supposed to send you the disability form so you can send Celebrity a list of the disabled needs. This is also how Celebrity is supposed to confirm you actually need the wheelchair accessible cabin. It sound to me like Celebrity really dropped the ball on this and are the ones who made the mistake. I do think it should be elevated, especially since you have nothing to lose since the change makes the costs prohibited. Also, the airline may have some responsibility. What airline and what is the actual type of plane in your booking?
  7. When you booked, did you fill out the special services notification for the airline that advised them you had a power chair? If so, and the airlines took that booking, then the airline should move you to a flight that will accommodate the power chair in the cargo hold. Also, did you advise the Celebrity cruise disabled accommodation dept you were booking flights through Celebrity? They are also supposed to assist with disabled accommodation.
  8. Is this the cruise night booklet that a travel agent can give?
  9. Since the catheter has to stay in for two weeks, it sounds like a Foley catheter versus an intermittent catherization yourself. We have traveled in both circumstances so if you need more information about how to handle the intermittent catherization issues that may arise, then please post and I will try to address those questions as best I can. What you described sounds like what you have is a Foley catheter so you will have a bag attached to the catheter which will need to be periodically emptied. Only problem I can see with that is that you will likely have more than 3 oz of liquid. I doubt that it will arise as an issue, but just in case, you may want to take a letter which verifies that you will have a Foley catheter and bag which will contain the urine. Go to the bathroom before you get into the security line and empty the catheter. Hopefully any delay through security won't cause the catheter bag to have much urine. As long as you can walk unassisted, the catheter should not set off the security devices like the metal detector. The only issue you could have is if you get selected for the intensive search. If that happens I suggest you ask for a private screening. I am assuming that you would be wearing a leg bag so that the catheter bag is not showing. This could pose an issue in the more intensive screening and you may have to show that bag. I suggest the private screening if you are unlucky enough to be randomly selected for the more intensive search. I suggest that you bring some spare catheter bags with you in case your bag develops a leak. All of them except for one could be put in your checked luggage. Put at least one in your carry-on in case of a bag leak on your travels. I also suggest that you bring one catheter kit with the size Foley catheter that you use and carry this in your checked luggage. In the event something happens to the catheter and it needs to be replaced, you will have a replacement handy. There is a likelihood that the ship or other clinics you may go to would not have exactly what you are using. If you need to carry the larger bag which is not a leg bag, there are bag covers which you might want to purchase. Also I suggest you talk to your doctor about a prophylactic antibiotic. Since you will be traveling and using public and hotel/ship bathrooms, you could pick up an infection. The antibiotic may keep that from happening.
  10. We have been to this show, including our family member who is a full-time wheelchair user. The seating area for wheelchairs is up front. Unless it is changed since we were there (which has been several years ago) we just pulled up in the wheelchair in front of the lowest row of seats. They did have areas of seating set aside for wheelchairs and scooters. Because the ship gets a group rate, it's usually cheaper to purchase as a ship excursion. There was no transportation provided. It is downtown relatively close to the main piers. Even though we purchased it as a ship excursion, we just went directly to the theater.
  11. Do any of the dock designations listed above require tendering?
  12. Perhaps a benefit only if you are not a full-time wheelchair user and sailing Princess--then you are not allowed to tender. Very disappointing as well as frustrating to see everyone else getting off the ship (and still having to pay port charges)
  13. Yes the DMW shows the entire date and it doesn't give an option for club class on the second week. It also is not giving the reservation for the complimentary specialty dining--it insisted on payment, which we didn't make so it did not make the reservation. Also we are getting the personalized celebration insert for the second week which requires the rectangular holder. We want the regular circular holder for the first week so I can wear it in a bracelet. How will we be able to do this if they don't send a medallion for each cruise?
  14. It is also not letting me order a medallion for the second cruise. I also hope we will not have a problem with dining as we are in a suite in the second cruise and a balcony for the first. Also, if the medallion shows only the first cruise information to staff, it will not have the correct cabin number for charges for the second cruise.
  15. Ours show up as a back to back also. I called and was told the app couldn't show the cruises any other way. We aren't even in the same cabin on both cruises.
  16. I found the answer in as to the attachment on this current holder in some photos I finally found on the internet. So I appreciate the suggestions for attachments and we have ordered the reel clip. I had previously tried to search CC for threads regarding the medallion holder options but the search function on CC still doesn't work for me. When this thread came up, I was excited to finally be able to get some assistance. So thanks to everyone.
  17. Do you know if the rectangular holder has something that that will allow the retractable holder to attach? I assume there is some way it attachs to that $7 premium lanyard.
  18. Ok, thanks. Do you know if it will fit on a clip or anything other than a lanyard?
  19. I had read on this thread that the old holder wasn't being sent out. However, on the Medallion Class app, the customized inserts (such as birthday or retirement) are still being offered for a fee(with personalization if desired). It also requires you to purchase an upgraded lanyard ($7) as it says the it won't work on the regular free lanyard. So I assumed that if you purchased this, it would come in a rectangular holder. The picture of the customized insert looks like the one Masterly made for you. So it seems like Princess is still doing something like that insert if you pay for it, but I don't know because we haven't ordered it yet. One of our party has a pacemaker and can't use a lanyard. He would prefer a clip, although a watch type wristband would work except we would need to be careful of the position of his arm. So I was trying to find other options besides the lanyard to determine if it was possible for him to even use the customized medallion insert.
  20. Can these clips be used on the medallion with the insert which I understand comes encased in the small plastic square?
  21. Great review! I enjoyed your "live" thread also, especially the photos. Thank you so much for including the Patters and menus. Do you remember about what time you got to the Lionsgate Bridge on after sailaway?
  22. We want to order the personalized celebration insert, but you have to have the large square. The only option accessory option Princess had on their website is the premium lanyard. However we really don't want that. We would prefer a clip or even a watch type bracelet. Did anyone ever use an alternative accessory on the square one or does anyone have any suggestions?
  23. What about b2b Whittier to Vancouver to Whittier? Do you have to get off the ship?
