  1. Just for reference..we only know Lahaina, so I was wondering how far it was from the port as far as driving..
  2. So my DW & I are thinking of doing the Pride Of America Hawaii cruise for our anniversary May 2025..I know it's a long way off & things can change, but I read somewhere on here that NCL is no longer cruising up & down the Napali coast..this for us was a big attraction..I don't do helicopters, so a cruise up & down the Napali coast was what we were thinking...any recent cruisers give some thoughts/ answers on this? Also for Maui, were were thinking of going to Lahaina ( we were there about 20 yrs ago & loved it..), but obviously that's out now, and maybe for the next several years..how far is the Maui port from Lahaina? Thanks.. Big Al
  3. Hi all- my wife wants to try the Disney Wish for her b'day next Oct. '24...question: we are seasoned cruisers ( 46 cruises after Dec..), and we always get a table for 2..I thought I read somewhere that you can request this, but there's no guarantee you get it..true? Also, Does Palo still have their famous brunch? We had it on the Dream and till this day, it was the best breakfast we've ever had on a cruise... Not a dining question, but how's the adult pool area? Looks like one is at the back of the ship...thanks!! Big Al
  4. We were on the Joy in April for 12 nights..it was great, but you never would know that from seeing the show on the Joy...
  5. It is often only like $100-200 more...to me for a bigger shower & 2 vanities instead of one, that's a bargain...if it was $750-1000, that's different.. Big Al
  6. I find Mighty Cruise Ships very boring & disappointing each time...how many times do we have to see the Captain docking the ship and saying how tricky it is? How many times do we have to see there are people or one couple that are late for boarding and you see the staff talking to each other discussing how long they are going to wait before they leave port? How many times does the ship have engine trouble & we see the engineers discussing what to do? Once I have seen this a few times, I don't need to see 15 minutes of the ship docking at the port.. Instead I wish this show would be a REVIEW of the ship- notice how they don't show all the dining venues, any bars & lounges, nor all the different public spaces? That's what I would like to see..after 25 or 30 episodes of the same stories ( ship docking, problems with the engines, weather concerns, passengers missing, etc..), wouldn't you like to see THE SHIP, and not all the problems they experience? A friend of mine who has never cruised, watched 3 episodes and said he would now NEVER go on a cruise after watching all the ship's issues..can't blame him..I much prefer watching YouTube videos and see a review of all of the "Mighty Cruise Ship" instead of what they really should call the show - "Mighty Problems on Cruise Ships"...sorry, but this show disappoints me...
  7. We thought the Club Balcony on the Encore last year and the Joy this past April were worth it by far..the 2 vanities is nice to have- first time ever my wife & I could brush our teeth & fix our hair at the same time, but the shower is the big thing here..you could've put ANDRE THE GIANT in the there!! OMG, it was so spacious and there were several jets that come out and spray you all over ..best shower we've ever had on our 45 cruises..I HATE tight showers..we are booked again in a CB on the Escape in December..go for it! Big Al
  8. So my wife & I are planning a Mexican Riviera cruise next year and one of the ports is Ensenada..we are veteran cruisers ( 46 so far), and this is our first time doing the Mexican cruise..we do NOT like going into town and seeing the venders, listening to all the locals asking to see their store, etc..we have had enough of that in Cozumel, Nassau, Jamaica, etc., you probably know the drill..I am looking for a beach club in Ensenada or a tour that includes a beach or beach club...please post if you know any..thanks! Big Al
  9. Hi all...I recently saw a YouTube video on a HAL ship that showed a "beverage holder" available to purchase in one of the on board shops..I am interested in this because I am going on a Princess cruise early next year and Princess does NOT have any beverage holders in their theaters...this drives me nuts, as I usually have a beer or Martini in hand and now I must either hold it for 30-60 + minutes or put it under the chair if I desire a beverage..has anybody bought/ used this item & does it work? Thanks.. Big Al
  10. Great venue...was on the NCL Joy, Encore & Getaway recently...great Reuben sandwich, fish & chips, wings, turkey salad club, all great, all free...24/7 also..went there after the Beatle's shows or after the Frankie Valli shows..great eats after the shows...
  11. Hi all...I was wondering for those who have cruised on the Enchanted Princess since the April 2023 dry dock: 1) In the new Irish Pub, are there TV screens to watch sports? Last year when we went on the EP, there were NO public places to see any sports...some people were pretty upset..most cruise ships ( certainly new cruise ships..) have sports bars.. also, did anybody notice what draft beers were on tap ( NOT bottled..) ? 2) Anybody dine in Rudi's Seafood place? I read a few reviews that it was very good.. 3) Replace the curtained showers with glass enclosed? I know the new Sun Princess will have that, much to the applause of many who prefer ( like me) glass enclosed showers...we are going 3/17/24...thanks! Big Al
  12. Where do you make reservations? On deck 6 where Guest Services are, or somewhere else? Big Al
  13. Thanks so much Portia for this! DW & myself along with my SIL & hubby are going Dec. 9th ( along with schwaja3) and was wondering about the Supper Club...it seems there are usually 2 shows- one at 6:00 & one at 8:30 pm..is the early show dinner & later show no dinner, or can you dine at both shows? We probably will do the 8:30 show & dine somewhere else...I am interested in the ABBA & Beatles shows...thanks for any tips! Big Al
  14. The buffet in the OL is very small & limited & is open in the early AM, then closes till 2 pm..there is no dining outside in the OL, but you can dine outside on deck 8 on the Waterfront...
  15. I was on the Encore Jan.'22 and it was great...don't miss the Observation Lounge on deck 15..perhaps the best public space I've ever seen on any ship..Beatles show fantastic..dining outdoors on deck 8 also super...beers in the district Brew House great...
  16. I really appreciate you posting this as we will be on the Escape 12/9/23..just got off the Joy 4/27 after a 12 day cruise..super cruise...the Joy was also sold out @ 3800 passengers..we didn't have a problem going to our 5:30 dinners at the Manhattan Room..maybe because it was very early..our 5 specialty dining dinners @ Ocean Blue, Cagney's, Teppanyaki, Le Bistro ( outside on deck 8..fantastic!!), and the Food Republic were all amazing..loved the Local too..Reuben & chicken salad sandwich there were great along with the fish & chips..thanks again! Big Al
  17. Hi all..my wife & I are going to Tortola in December on the Escape and she cannot swim..we were at the Baths about 12 yrs ago, but I walked thru the caves while my wife took some pics & maybe a video...I need to know if at any time going thru the caves at the Baths, do you need to swim because it is too deep to walk OR can you walk safely thru the entire caves area? BTW, she is only 4'11...thanks! I also put this post up on the Tortola site.. Big Al

  19. YEESSSS..They have Harp!! Thanks soooo much..Roy will be so happy..thanks again for posting this! We leave this Saturday... Big Al
  20. Thanks, but I know the District Brew House has 26 beers on draft plus another 70 in bottles and I don't see that amount here..I think these might be the beers at normal bars..but thanks!!
  21. Hey guys does anybody know if HARP is available on the NCL ships, specifically the Joy? We are going next week and my friend loves Harp, but I don't remember seeing it when I was on the Encore last year..I figure the District Brew House might have it..maybe someone has a list of the beers there? Thanks...
  22. Thanks for the photo.."Diet Sprite" has been "Sprite Zero" for a few years now..same product, different name..I hope it is Diet Sprite, the only soda I drink a bit of...😎
  23. Hey guys I know NCL switched their soda to Coke products recently..I was wondering if anybody knows whether they carry Sprite Zero ( AKA Diet Sprite ) and if it's included in the regular drink package? Also, the hair dryer in the cabin, is it in the drawer ( like most cabins..), or in the bathroom? Thanks..going on the Joy 4/15 for 12 nights...just checking.. Big Al
  24. Our Meet & Greet ( which I organized ) is also at the Brew House on the 4/15 cruise...can't wait!!
