1. We're booked for the Nov. 20th Golden Princess out of San Pedro. I have some questions/concerns I was hoping you fine people of CC could answer/confirm.

Question 1, 2, 3: We received 200 OBC for this booking and 25 OBC for using my FCC. If I recall correctly, I have to use all of this because none of it is refundable to me or lose it...

May I use it to pay the gratuity? May I use it on alcohol? May I use it for the casino?

Question 4: On our first cruise we walked off by ourselves with our luggage...

Are we allowed to walk on with our luggage or do I have to hand it over to the porters? Last time our luggage took longer than we would've liked to arrive.

Question 5, 6: How does the Crown Grill work...

Is it just like the MDRs but higher quality food? Is it worth the extra charge?

Question 7, 8: MUTS...

Do they show Thursday Night Football on MUTS? Is Sailaway in the same area as MUTS or a different area?

Question 9: MDR...

Is breakfast and lunch served everyday or only specific days? I know breakfast is available to Suite passengers in Sabitini's I believe, but we are in a guaranteed balcony.

Last questions: Alfredo's...

Why isn't it on the Golden? We absolutely loved it on the Sapphire. Correct me if I'm wrong.

2. I noticed a decrease in service in two areas in my previous two Princess cruises (Crown and Star):

Horizon Court: The tables weren't set and you had to go pick up your omelet rather than having it delivered to you.

MUTS: No cookies, milk, hot chocolate, or popcorn was brought to us.

I had come to expect these things from my Sapphire and two Golden experiences.

We were on the Sapphire last December for our first cruise. We experienced no long wait for ATD and we went all different times. MUTS also had cookies and milk. Don't remember popcorn though.

My wife ordered an omelette and it was delivered to our table. Sure hope service hasn't changed so drastically in less than a year.

3. Sushi! My fiancée will be so happy.

Those steaks looked delicious. However, I sure do hope the pizza tastes better than it looked, and by seeing that you only got one slice, I don't think you would say so.

What is that dish with the spiral of purple onion? Looks like rolled up salmon sashimi. Not sure though. I lost count of how many of those plates you had.

Where was most of this dining done at? All over the ship? Or mostly just the MDR?

4. Yes you can take your luggage on board yourself . Keep in mind that the bags have to be able to pass thru the security scanner. That means they have to conform to airline size carry on bags in all dimensions except length.
Do you know the dimensions by any chance?
5. Sailing in exactly a week on the Sapphire out of San Pedro and are super excited.

One question, when we arrive at the pier, do we HAVE to give our luggage to the porters? Just like you can self disembark, can you also self embark? I rather deal with our luggage ourselves and have it immediately in our room instead of wondering when it is arriving.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

6. We also had a similar issue last month on the Golden. Our Steward entered our room at 7am. The deadbolt was in place and the do not disturb sign was out. Quite dismaying to us and we thought an isolated incident. Obviously this is not the case.
But how is that possible?! You had your DO NOT DISTURB SIGN out! Excuse my sarcasm, but many people in this thread swear that is the endallbeall needed so no one enters the room.
7.
In case of a real EM if only Supervisors have a master key?
Having to waste precious time finding that supervisor in a EM situation.
If there was a fire and a person was deaf and did not hear the alarm.?
I don't want to hijack this thread with this debate.

Read this thread for MANY great alternatives to stewards having a master key card.
8. I pray you never create a "Code Alpha" situation. The delay while they break down your door could mean life or death.

[bTW I'm not condoning the Princess policy here. It does seem that passengers should be able to have a reasonable expectation of privacy. But achieving the way you suggest could put you in harm's way.]

Please explain what kind of emergency I would face by having my door secure. Like someone already stated, I would not put the security bar or wedge if I was in there by myself. If something happened to me, my soon to be wife could open the door and vice-versa. A fire or something of that sort, I expect to be awaken by the alarm.
