  1. Yes, they do. Your PCC is wrong on this one.

Every cabin on every ship in the Vista, Signature, Pinnacle classes, and the Prinsendam, have a fridge.

On the S- and R-class ships, every cabin with a balcony has a fridge. The inside and outside cabins on those ships are the ones that can rent one.

If you rent a fridge do they stock it? If they do,do you get the Mariner discount?

  2.

What is a 'therapy dog'. And why would it be in a stroller? Is a 'therapy dog' a 'service dog'.

Do 'therapy dogs' have the same 'rights' as 'service dogs'.

Service dogs are not therapy dogs or comfort dogs. Therapy or comfort dogs do not have the same rights service dogs.

Check out post #55 for more info about service dogs and the ADA. Very informative. It makes you realize how many people abuse this law

  3. Just wondering what is above and below Main Deck room J1088

Has anyone been in that stateroom or anywhere near there, if so, is it ok??

    Thanks

    Ron S

According to the deck plan it looks like J1088 is directly below the Queen!s Lounge

  4. So no hard-copy is produced? I realize it would be expensive to mail. I would gladly stop by HAL HQ and pick one up in person if they have printed ones there. ;)

    They do publish hard copies

Your TA should have one if not if you have a cruise in the near future the FCC might have one. I got last years on a cruise. From the FCC

  5. We booked flex air along with our cruise after first deciding which flights we wanted. The record locator was available at the time of booking and we selected seats. I was not able to upgrade to comfort plus on Delta until final cruise payment was made, however.

I continually checked on the cost of the flights before making final cruise payment. The flights went down in price and an adjustment was made on my invoice when I called HAL.

    Enjoy your cruise

Did you book with a TA or directly thru HAL

  6. I don't think they do that with gratuities any more but if you booked a F category or higher I think you got two suitcases per passenger shipped for free. I would much rather have the gratuities as that is around $2,500 per stateroom. Being cheap and also retired by the time of our WC we are renting a car to FLL, about a nine hour drive so luggage is not a issue for us. I can get a one way rental for around $125.

An additional way to save is to do an early final payment, May of 2016 in our case for a 3% discount. You can still cancel up to the final payment date. That's a nice savings.

Unless I mistaken the gratuities are prepaid for OV staterooms C-F Check the Cruise Atlas Page 172.

  7. Can anyone tell me if all the outside cabins on the Veendam have tubs, and if so, are they high and hard to get into and do they have the bars to hold onto inside? According to the cabin description it shows all outside cabins with tubs. Thank you in advance.

We just returned from the Veendam last week. Had an OV room on deck 5 with a tub. It is high but has a grab bar. Not difficult to get in.

  8. With HAL changing "Formal" Nights to "Gala" Nights, will the Captain continue to host a table at Dinner?

yes. We just returned from the Veendam and we chatted with a couple at the Mariner Reception who were invited to join the Captain's table that evening.

  9. Osterdamn April 19th to May 10th. Last cruise was last fall and no I don't want a free cruise. Just want to get what I paid for

We were on the same cruise and thought everything was great. We were on Deck 6 and had fantastic room stewards. Also I thought the food was very good and the selections were O.K. Our waiter was excellent and had our table(late seating) ready to leave at 9:15 or 9:30 every night. The ship was spotless.

You are right about some of the buses. The one we used in Kauai was a disgrace

Hopefully you will find a cruise line you won't be disappointed in.

  10. Just got off her in November. She is in great shape. Great ship. We did no excursions but went ashore in every port. All the ports had local crafts and the usual souvenirs. Costa Maya is a little more developed. The food was just OK but I'm very finicky. Our waiter and assistant waiter were both new and were still learning. Did not go to any shows and have no idea who the CD was.

    Hope this helps a little

  11. Ah... That explains it. Would you cruise on the Ryndam in Oct. 2015 knowing it will be transferred in November?

Yes . We have just booked the Ryndam's final cruise with HAL

    Great itinary
