Can you advise which excursion you selected? There are several on the list. There will be 8 family members traveling. It sounds like a good fit for us. Thanks in advance!

Purchase candy or something that is specific to the area you live in. We like taking a Jack Daniels small cake when we exchange.

We plan on making this our go to for Tortola. I can't thank you enough! I would like to inquire, if you arrange the taxi for return, when you are dropped off at the cove? I am always a little worried about someone really coming back for us, and no current taxi flow to a specific spot. I would hate to be a pier runner! :0)

Best way for family of 8 to go on our own to St. John?

@portroyal I received a notice that you had replied, but no quote or message on the post. Thanks. -
Live from the Emerald Princess B2B April 20- May 10, 2024
Derbie replied to MissiCruzs's topic in Princess Cruises
We are due to sail on the Emerald on 5/20/24. Looking forward to your review. -
DH and I would like to take our son and his family to visit St. John in early July. My husband I and I did an excursion through a cruise ship a few years ago to St. John. The cruise line offers one, but $800 for us to go for 2.5 hours to the beach is pricey. I would like the kids to see St. John. We took them to Megans last go round. Would we take a cab to the ferry and then another cab to the Trunk beach in St. John? I am wondering if would we be any ahead of the game cost wise by doing this on our own? Would we gain any additional time at the beach, by doing it on our own? I realize there is lots of logistics and possible issues, with doing this on your own. Our ship is in port 9-6. All recommendations are appreciated! Thanks in advance,

Thank you for the valuable information. It will certainly help us make our decision.

How is the bidding system doing? Any comments?

How is the bidding system doing? Any comments?
Derbie replied to Bwana Tom's topic in Princess Cruises
We are sailing on the Emerald 5/20/24. The website is allowing bidding; however, when you search the cruise, it shows "sold out." Is this just a technical error? I have never bid on Princess before, so if anyone can advise, it would be greatly appreciated. -
Did you ever receive a reply from this group? My husband is interested in an excursion with them.

I think we may consider Smugglers Cove for our time in port. Given our timeframe, do you recommend a specific taxi? Should we attempt to reserve in advance? Thanks again for your superior assistance!

What do you ladies put in laundry bag?
Derbie replied to living at the beach's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We have used the service several times in the past. I found all my laundry was nicely done and clean. -
Good morning, We will have a party of 8, and we are trying to determine if we want to use Uber, etc., or locate a hotel that provides a shuttle to the port. The hotel we are looking at has an airport shuttle, but we arrive so late that I think we will have to take a cab or uber to the hotel on arrival. I didn't see anything about a port terminal shuttle. Thanks in advance,

Many, many kind thanks! Such great information. I will dig a bit further and make a game plan. A roll call passenger also recommended doing a beach day in Tortola. Again, your advice is sincerely appreciated!

We will be in port May 23rd, 2024. 9:00 am until 6:00 pm.

I found your advice very helpful! Thanks so much.

I appreciate the reply. We sail on Carnival and Princess (Holland as well, though they don't honor the OBC situation-I have been told) quite often. I wanted the stock strictly for the OBC.
-
We are supposed to work with our advisor this afternoon, in regards to purchasing 100 shares of Carnival stock. I am concerned, based on a thread posted on here, in regards to the OBC only being good through 2024. We have an 8-day cruise scheduled on Carnival Magic in June, and a 10-day for Emerald Princess next month. If this is the case, I may not want to put out the funds, if this no longer a benefit from owing stock. Any information is certainly welcome.

I am not a great swimmer, and my DH can't really swim at all. Although, he swears he can swim with fins on. Anyway, I read a post where someone said the water can be quite deep with the tide is coming in, at one point in the Baths. This may be the turning on point on what we do in port. Also, how long does it take (on average) to go through the Baths? Can anyone advise? If this is the case, we may pass and research other options. We would like to have a beach day on either the port of Tortola, or St. Kitts. If you have an opinion on this as well, it will be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance,

Just off the Magic (Mar 30 - Apr 6) (writeup)
Derbie replied to Sabalon's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
We are going on the Magic on June 29th (8 day Western). We are traveling with our son, wife and four grandchildren. We wanted to do the same route as you were on, but it is no longer a closed loop sailing. I had to hunt us down one where, our son's family could sail without passports. DH and I both have passports. I am most pleased to read your review. I was worried, as not all comments in the ship review board were positive. I understand you can't please all. I do worry there will be enough on the cruise to keep them busy. Last year, we took them on the Panorama and the year before on Oasis of the Seas. They are 18, 16, 14 and 8. Money belt tightening up, as the grandparents retire. :0) Now l et the port planning begin! -
Thank you very much! I would appreciate @blue_water offering up any advice. Also, I will dig a bit, and come up with our "must do" list.

I noticed you replied to an inquiry on a Tortola post that I read recently. If you have any suggestions for this port, I would be most appreciative!
