When we did the Baltic we spent a few days pre- cruise in Copenhagen.  We got some local cash from an ATM to pay for some local expenses. We did the same in Southampton when we boarded there. Once on board we did not require and local currency. Credit Cards are widely accepted. If you do require some local cash you can get it an an ATM. Guides on Princess tours accept US$ as tips. We also took some private tours where we paid in US$. These guides also accepted US$ for tips.

My response is based on you being from the U.S.. Correct?

    No we are from UK

  2. Going to the Baltic June 1 boarding at Southampton, with so many different sorts of currency's I would love to know if we can use our cards  in different ports for payment 😁

If not then do we have to get the correct currency and if so where from once we are there ?

    Thanks for your help

  3. Thank you all for replies, I have now heard back from there web page.

C&A store is like Premark, M&S ,the quality and standard are very good but the prices are even nicer. We had one where I live but it closed down quite a long time ago and boy is it missed.

Ventura is one of P&O cruise ships.

Thank you all for your help.

    La Palma Canary Islands Spain,

    Lisbon Portugal

    Thank you

  5. We thought we were doing a good thing in pre-purchasing our tix online. I mean, what can go wrong, hey? Anyway, arrived in beautiful Barcelona ready to take our HOHO all around the city, and learned that for this line you have to change your online ticket for a paper one at the office downtown, which means getting there yourself, right? See the frustration? Paid tickets, can't use them right away. As stated, just buy them when you get there. :)

Anyway, the red/green/blue line is fantastic - we took it around at least twice and our hotel was at the very end of the green line, so it worked perfectly for us.

    Enjoy your time. :)

Thanks Karen for that, i did read somewhere that tickets had to be bought online before arriving.

Hopefully will be able to get some tickets once we arrive, i did'it want to waste any time by queuing though. ;)

  6. You can buy HO HO bus tix when you arrive. Very easy. I wouldn't prepurchase. You can decide on the route you want to take when you arrive. It will depend on if you want to stop at a particular site or if you are just going for an overview.

I used this site a lot the first time we visited. You can get familiar with all kinds of city related things.

Had a very quick look at the tourist guide and they have Q&A section so big thank you for that.

Will take your advice and wait to purchase our tour tickets once we arrive, just thought i might be saving queuing time if i pre purchased them. ;)

    Thank you :)

  7. Thank you

Seems very hit and miss to me, think its very inportant to get things right and there should be a very clear guide if you can or cant bring them back on board ship, if you can how many.

Dont want customs to stop me when we arrive back at Southhampton.

  8. Can anyone help ?:o

We are going on Royal Carribean IOS August 2014.

My question is when we dock in the Spainish Mediterranean will i be allowed to bring 400 cigs back on board ?

 Sorry if i've posted on wrong thread but this is my first time.
