  1. Just booked this cruise, really looking forward to it. I don't like short cruises, was really happy to see this longer one added
  2. After being cancelled on yet again, I'm booking a whole year out from what would have been my 4th "re-booking" on Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady... Hopefully, the "5th time" is the charm...
  3. We were able to reschedule our 2020 sailing from July 19, 2020 until this new date. We were very impressed with the level of assistance and helpfulness that we received from Virgin Voyages staff. As we are all in our 70s we felt this was prudent. I hope others that need to change are able to so with the same ease and clarity that we experienced.
  4. This is the Roll Call for the (currently) first scheduled VV Scarlett Lady sailing for 2021, "Riviera Maya" May 9 - 14, 2021. Barring any additional cancellations, this should be an extra fun celebration as Virgin Voyages will finally be getting the party started after so many delays! I'm a 50 year old first-time cruiser from Connecticut. I decided to rebook for this sailing after my earlier reservations were cancelled. I'm planning on going solo and I'm booked in an upgraded Sea Terrace cabin on Deck 14. I also have a second voyage booked for November in a RockStar Sweet Aft Suit
  5. I just booked this today as my "free cruise" in the Shipload of Love contest... I was nominated by another Cruise Critic member back in February, and just got the official news this week. It appears that this will be only the second cruise out of Miami, once the ship reaches the US. I was originally booked for May of last year, then September, then May of this year... Of course, none of those ended up happening, and I've pushed my original cruise out to May of next year. Once I found out that I had won the contest, I wanted to try and be among the first on board. I would have chosen the very f
  6. Dominican Daze! We got our COVID-19 vaccines in January and decided to use our cruise credit to roll the dice on a May, 2021 cruise. Will there be enough vaccinated passengers for the ship to set sail? Fingers crossed. Who's joining us?
  7. My husband and I just booked this cruise. We're really looking forward to seeing how the Virgin experience is. I'm also quite curious to see if we will only be allowed to visit Cozumel on a Virgin excursion or not - if we can go on our own, I may be setting up a group for snorkeling, drinking and swimming with one of my favorite boat guys.
  8. There was no roll call set up for this sailing, so here it is... They cancelled/chartered my scheduled June 6th 2021 cruise, so I rebooked this, and with any luck, it will actually be "a go"...
  9. Agree, Solo Sups can be outrageously expensive. My preferred CL often has a large selection at +25% which is more bearable, but still a nasty extra IMHO. Agree on the coach thing. I'd hate all the unpacking stuff - but worse is that I just dont like coaches. Ships I love, especially in rough (but not too rough!) seas. Something relaxing about watching swells - unless you need to tender of course! Have now had 6 cruises cancelled for Covid. The first of those was meant to sail in August last year and ended at Tower Bridge - paid in Full in May 2018.... I used the credit
  10. Hi all, My girlfriend and I have booked this cruise - very excited to see how Virgin 'do' cruising. We've previously cruised with RCL, HAL and Marella (TUI) and also have another cruise booked for May '22 with P&O! We've missed travelling over the last 18m so excited to get back to it again 🙂
  11. Good morning all. Just a bit of info if anyone needs to fly to Southampton en-route to Portsmouth in light of the demise of Flybe. I was researching for flights from Manchester and found Loganair were now operating the route. However, the flights are operated by Blue Islands. Now, many may have heard of Loganair over Blue Islands and would be tempted to book with them. However, booking direct with Blue Islands not only saved us £50, but the baggage allowance with Blue Islands is greater than with Loganair (even though you are on a Blue Islands aircraft). Blue Islands ch
  12. If I was on a direct line, I'd certainly let the train take the strain. I'd need to get into London and then a 2 hour plus drag to get there as opposed to 90 mins in the car - which is fine going..... but not so keen to do it in reverse. The $400 for us, is split, so equates to just 5 drinks per day, so its a question of if we need 2 lots! lol I'm looking at it as being 4 nights and first time to let hair down in nigh 18 months! I did ask the question on when this needs to be bought - and told the promotion does end on 30th April - else $300 will mean $300.... Actually
  13. Well, since no one else has started one for this date, here we go!... This board in general hasn't been getting much action at all, considering this is a brand new and exciting cruise line... Hopefully that'll pick up when the first sailings begin. I had originally booked for June 26th, but I realized that the stop in Cozumel was on a Sunday. Now, I'll be visiting Cozumel on "taco Tuesday"!!!... 123 days to go!!!...
  14. Hi there Anthony here and with my husband Robert we'll be on this cruise. I was so happy we got to book this cruise but now I'm REALLY psyched since they announced DIPLO will be DJ'ing at the Bimini Beach Club! Basic background: we're both 58 and live in Philadelphia. We're seasoned cruisers with 85 cruises under our belt. Our favorite line is Celebrity and Especially their new ship, The Edge. But we also cruise Royal, Carnival, NCL, Princess, MSC. It's going to interesting to see how DIFFERENT the whole PLANNED experience is going to be. One Thing I REALLY HATE about mainstrea
  15. This roll call is for sailors on the new Virgin Voyage's Scarlet Lady Havana After Dark Cruise to Cuba.
  16. My husband and I are on this cruise if it sails. I'm interested to see if they will still require all passengers to be vaccinated then. My husband is, I am not, by choice. He may have to sail without me 😁
  17. We are booked too. 😁 I have checked and you may well have a point about maiden voyage. I can't find anywhere that says anyone has actually taken a fare paying cruise on her. Have you booked your car park? According to the website spaces are limited and there are special rates for each cruise, this one is £25 for the cruise.
  18. Had my eye on this sailing for a few months and finally booked this morning. We were supposed to have sailed on Scarlet Lady in May 2020, so it'll be great to finally get on board. Looking forward to visiting Bimini and enjoying all of the offerings on the ship!
  19. Ah Marco! I had the pleasure of meeting you on Meraviglia October 19 NYC-MIA. I’ve just booked the May 22 Transatlantic Miami-Barcelona on Valiant Lady. This ship looks so good - especially the food!
  20. We have cancelled this cruise due to Covid19 fears and concerns that we may not get vaccinated on a timely basis. Virgin kept $140 of our $550 deposit and gave us $410 toward a future cruise. We’ll most likely look at them in the future; once our fears are addressed.
  21. Hopefully the third time's the charm... After being cancelled on twice now, I decided to book far out enough that this thing is actually going to happen. Too bad it's almost a year away. I was previously booked for May 17th 202, which was called off on March 13th 2020... I re-booked for September on a back to back, which was also cancelled... I've been following the process all the way from the beginning, and I just can't wait until the day finally comes to step on board...
  22. Someone has posted on Facebook (apologies, don’t know what their source is)... As our most important partners, we wanted to update you first about our recent decision to postpone our sailings through October 15th, 2020 — which your Sailors will be notified about on Thursday, May 21. We’ve been working hard to find a way to set sail by August, but that hasn’t turned out to be possible. We appreciate how many of your Sailors were excited to sail with us, so we understand how disappointing this news is. But we trust you and your Sailors will understand our decision given the e
  23. We changed to this cruise from July 10, 2020. Hoping we'll all be sailing by May 2021!!
  24. We will be onboard with you. This is our first attempt at booking a Virgin Voyage. I am so sorry that happened to you. I have had 6 cruises cancelled on other cruiselines, so I understand the disappointment and frustration. I'm still worried about three more that may cancel. I have my fingers crossed. Hopefully by next summer, things will be greatly improved. We are definitely looking forward to this cruise!
  25. Looks like we may be on a maiden Virgin voyage. It’s gonna be a hell of a ride and I am very excited.
