  1. Odd question. But I was wondering if carnival Freedom has HBO? I don’t want to miss Game of Thrones Sunday lol.
  2. I just learned that our next cruise on Freedom departs on the same day as the final episode of the final season of Game of Thrones (May 19). We can record it and watch when we get home, but I'm afraid that we won't be able to go a week without hearing someone reveal something from the final episode. A couple of questions specific to Freedom: 1. Does Stream work well enough to truly stream video? We can either watch it live on HBO Go or watch it on the Spectrum app from our DVR, assuming that it doesn't drive is crazy by buffering every few seconds. 2. Can we plug into an HDMI input on our stateroom TV (using an iPad with the appropriate converter/cable)? I've read a few threads about this but haven't paid close enough attention to which ships can do this. I'm assuming, even though this will be an extremely popular show, that it won't be shown anywhere on the ship since it's not very family friendly. Yeah, I know...we're on a cruise. If you feel the need to judge others for what they do on their vacation, please keep it to yourself.
  3. Just wondering if you can ever get a walk up reservation for this restaurant? Or wait to book on the ship? I am just not sure if we will want to go or not. May depend on the dining room menu on a specific night. TIA
  4. After dry dock is it still outdoors?
  5. My daughter, granddaughter, and her husband returned yesterday from our first cruise on the Freedom. Having loved the Magic and the Breeze, I wasn't sure what to expect. We missed the spa and the T-pool. That's all we missed. The Freedom is lovely. Beautiful atrium and decor. Compared to the Magic and the Breeze it felt crowded only when we were in the Fun Shop area during a sale. The young ones had an interior cabin on deck 6, and Cheers. They said the cabin was comfortable and they never had a wait either in ordering or getting drinks. My daughter and I had a scenic ocean view on deck 9. The view was spectacular and the extra seating area was delightful. Our cabin steward was attentive and cheerfully gave us both morning and evening service. The Chef's Table was amazing as usual. I enjoyed the quiet location in a private room off the mid-ship dining room. It was nicer than the noisy area in the galley where it was held on the Breeze. We had early seating in the aft dining room. The food was very good, served promptly and at the proper temperature, and our wait team was top notch. I was disappointed that butter pats were no longer available on request. The last night they were out of souvenir shot glasses but I came home with several to add to my collection, including two pink ones which are my favorite. We skipped the steakhouse this cruise and didn't regret it. We once again were very glad we had purchased FTTF. Embarking and debarking were both smooth and easy and our cabins were ready when we boarded. The young ones enjoyed the night entertainment, and we all enjoyed Hannah at the Piano Bar. Key West was a lot of fun, as usual. We had an incredible lunch at a crab restaurant on Duval. I highly recommend it. We shopped some in Freeport. The young ones really enjoyed Cabbage Beach in Nassau while I enjoyed relaxing on the quiet ship. I have booked the Freedom again for next spring for another daughter and me and am already looking forward to that cruise.
  6. Does the Freedom of the Seas have a coastal kitchen? If they do, are jr. suite passengers able to go to eat there? Also, does the Freedom OTS have both Diamond and Concierge Lounges? If they do, what is the difference between the two? Thank you!
  7. Is the library open 24/7 or are there set hours? Thanks.
  8. It seems that the 3/30 Freedom sailing is overbooked and many are getting calls (yesterday) for full refund and a free cruise at another time. Some were asked to go on the Vista a day later (Sunday). I was thinking that perhaps the Vista is not getting the bookings they thought it would and they are trying to fill it vs Freedom overcrowding. Many were single cruisers and also employees. Anyone ever hear of this. Lots are being called.
  9. Would anyone happen to know who the piano man or pub musician will be on the Freedom the week of 4/14? Thank you in advance.
  10. I have searched and searched for recent information about Carnival Freedom and cant find what I am looking for. I will be sailing on the May 25th sailing. Its an 8 day cruise going to Key West, Nassau, Freeport and HMC. I would love any recent information about the cruise. Ex: menus, fun times, what shows are playing. Thank you in advance.
  11. Looking for a recent Cruise Compass on Freedom of the Seas southern out of San Juan. Ports St. Martin/St. Kitts/Antigua/St Lucia/Barbados/At Sea/San Juan. Thanks!
  12. I'm looking at a picture of Independence of the Seas. The lifeboats along the side of the ship appear to be like years-gone-by lifeboats: an elongated 'tub' with a rounded cocoon top over it. Not at all like the lifeboat/tenders I have seen/used on other cruise lines, which are more like large launches. Are they lifeboats or are they tenders - or both? Either way, they look like they would bob around quite a bit in the water.
  13. We are getting ready to sail on the Freedom of the Seas out of San Juan in June. Does anyone who has sailed on the ship have any secret locations to share (hard to find places to see, quiet locations to relax, hidden hot tubs, good coffee/snack areas, etc.) This will be our 1st time on the ship. Thanks.
  14. I've read some fairly critical reviews of the passengers on Freedom of the Seas out of San Juan from cruisers that traveled in the last few months. These types of reviews are harder to find before this fall/winter, so I'm wondering about their validity (I don't think anyone is lying, but some reviewers may be more sensitive than others). I am booked for a June 2019 cruise on this ship and I'm concerned about the rowdy nature that has been described. I anticipate and hope to have a fun crowd on our cruise, but I'm not interested in a week of rudeness, cutting lines, people taking over areas of a ship as has been described in 5-6 reviews in recent months. Are these descriptions an accurate portrayal of cruisers out of San Juan? Or are these reviewers exaggerating? We are considering canceling our cruise and picking another ship/departure port if this is accurate information.
  15. Hi all i am due to cruise on Breakaway in June and this is my first cruise with NCL ( have cruised quite a bit). One of the things I enjoy is dining with the same people each evening (if you get a good table!) and obviously it is Freedom Dining on NCL. Any observations, thoughts on how it went from other solo passengers who have sailed NCL before? Thanks Pat
  16. Usually we don't try to board early in San Juan if we arrange for late checkout through Hilton Honors but if weather isn't stellar we may arrive early. Where is a good place to enjoy first drinks of the beverage package? We will probably just grab pizza or something light because we will have a large breakfast at the hotel.
  17. Trying to decide which to cruise next... We have been on the Freedom several times, and really enjoyed her.. Never been on the Glory. From reading the specs, very similar, with the Glory missing a couple of things. Which do you prefer? and why?? Thanks for all your help.
  18. Can anyone that has been on the freedom of the seas recently confirm if they still have Blanton's in the pub? We were on freedom last august and they had it and it was included in the drink package.
  19. I've never sailed on a Freedom class ship. I'm looking for some input on these two cabins. On the deck plans they look odd shaped. How does that affect the layout of the cabin? What is the balcony like? Is it very large like similar locations on Voyager class ships? Does anyone have pictures of either the cabin or the balcony?
