  1. Looking for pros and cons for each ship. TIA
  2. Confused as to what princess is telling me. We have a suite on the golden. They asked me if I wanted early or late seating. Isn’t club level dining you can go whenever you like? Thanks.
  3. We don't have many choices. There's a few cabins left on Caribe(our favorite decks) but they are all the way forward. Our other choices are Lido 303 or 307. I didn't even realize there were cabins up there. Wondering if they are covered. Also, curious about the noise level. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Does anyone know if the balconies are covered or not? Thanks
  5. Hey - We are fortunate enough to be sailing on the Grand on July 15, on a 10 day round trip to Alaska, departing San Francisco. We have booked one of the Owners Suites at the aft and was wondering where would be the best place to view the iconic sailing under the bridge - from the comfort and privacy of our nice large balcony but perhaps a lesser view, or from an atmospheric top deck with a more panoramic view with being able to dart from one side of the boat to the other? Perhaps in typing this, I have just answered my own question! Views would be welcome. Thanks. Ian.
  6. What is the minimum attire on the Alaskan cruise Formal nights? Also do they have a guest self-laundry onboard?
  7. Does anybody know if ouzo is served onboard the Golden Princess? I am sailing in January 2020 from Melbourne Australia to NewZealand. TIA.
  8. Hi, this summer we are looking at the 14 day Voyage of the Glaciers Grand Adventure itinerary (Vancouver roundtrip) on either the Golden (Aug 24) or the Island (Aug 28). We would like opinions on comparing these ships. Pricing is very similar so that isn't influential. This itinerary has 4 scenic cruising days (plus 2 sea days) and we would be booking a balcony cabin. What comparisons are important for this itinerary? Thanks in advance!
  9. I was just watching a video of Alaska on Golden Princess and there was a sign in one of the pictures that said. 'Skywalkers Lounge is now reserved for Platinum, Suite and Elite Guests'. Is this a permanent thing or is it just for a party and just closed for a few hours. One of the reasons I chose Golden was because of Skywalkers. I thought that would be a quiet place to sit and view while travelling the inside passage. Thanks
  10. When looking at the deck plans of Golden Princess, there seems to be some blank space on the starboard side of the casino, is this seating? Trying to find somewhere to meet up for our slot pull and I've never been on the ship before. If you have do you think this would be a good place to meet up, or is there somewhere better? Thanks
  11. First time cruisers taking the southbound glacier cruise in July from whittier. We have some onboard credits to use and wanted to reserve some specialty dining. Unfortunately, we found out that you cannot use onboard credits for advance reservations, only after you have boarded the ship. In checking for times available, many nights showed unavailable already. My question to those who are more knowledgeable, are there more times that open up once the cruise gets under way? I really hate to prepay for a specialty restaurant when I have money to use once on the ship. Thanks

  13. I’m going on my first Princess Cruise next week. Golden Princess - 13 day New Zealand Cruise. Not my first cruise but my first on Princess. How are the shows? Are they up to par with Celebrity or Royal? Thx!
  14. I'm looking at the deck plan for Golden Princess' Caribe deck. I wondered if anyone knows what is on the non-cabin side of cabin C324? Or has anyone been in this cabin and know if whatever is on the other side caused any noise that might be bothersome? Thanks in advance for any info!
  15. We sail southbound from Whittier, Alaska in late May and selected a table for four family members in the Canaletto Dining Room. From prior helpful posts, I learned that cruisers reach the dining room only by elevator or stairs from other floors, rather than walking by or through the Donatello. (We're glad to know that in advance.) Have fellow cruisers enjoyed Canaletto recently? Also, how are the views and service in this dining room? Thanks!
  16. While cruising on the golden princess we attended Tai Chi. Does anyone know how to get a copy of video they used? It was really very good.
  17. I'm looking for a cruise to Alaska. Would you choose Golden Princess or Island Princess? TIA
  18. We cruise in May, southbound from Whittier to Vancouver, and the Princess map indicates we do sail through the Inside Passage. However, the trip itinerary simply states "At Sea" for our final day. I ask because other lines emphasize the Inside Passage aspect in their advertising. Does anyone know if similar Princess cruises have used the Passage to sail from Ketchikan to Vancouver? Thanks so much!
  19. We've stayed in C-752 and loved it. On a northbound trip through Alaska we've been told the side E-729 is better. Also, it's a suite. They are the same price. Trying to decide. Any input would be appreciated!
  20. thing of taking the ship sponsored excursion next month while in St Maarten any pros or cons on this any input greatly appreciated
  21. We will be sailing on the Golden Princess out of Melbourne. We received a message from Princess stating that our check-in time is 1:30 PM. The message further stated that they were doing a "progressive check-in" and to not show up before the assigned check-in time. The earliest check-in time shown for anyone is 1:00 PM. We wanted to have the embarkation lunch in the main dining room--which is only open from 12:00 to 1:30. We are in a suite, so normally we could board at any time once boarding begins. In order to clarify this I called Princess directly and was told that we could only check-in at our assigned time. When asked how we could go to the embarkation lunch (which would already be closed) I was told "I have no information about that." I would like to know what time check-in actually starts and whether suite passengers can board early.
  22. Does the golden have on demand movies in the cabin?
  23. My hubby likes draft beer rather than bottles or cans. What kinds are available on Golden Princess or any Princess ship if you think it would be the same and what is the price? Thanks
  24. What are the production shows that are available on the Golden Princess, in the theater performed by the princess dancers and singers?
