  1. What movies are being shown on the Jewel. We will be on a 16 day cruise next week and are interested in seeing some new movies. Anyone on the Jewel now. Thanks.
  2. What time do you think we will be off the ship in Port Civitavecchia? I am trying to arrange travel from the ship to Termini and then train tickets to Florence. Thanks for your help!
  3. Anyone recently on Jewel know where the smoking areas are located? I think the lower outer deck is on 5 and maybe the pool bar on deck 11. Some cruise lines don't have chairs on the lower deck, like NCL & MSC. Thanks so much!
  4. Hi everyone. Found the perfect itinerary for us on August 25th 2019 on Jewel. All places we have not been too, reasonable price and Balcony Stateroom. Booked 9582, how is this compared to the regular Balcony staterooms? I like the position of the room, on the hump and it looks like it is in a quiet area. Can not wait to go on RCCL again 🙂
  5. We were recently on Jewel of the Seas for a nine night cruise. We had an oceanview cabin on deck three, starboard side, aft. The cabin number was 3626. The cabin itself was your standard size cabin for this class of ship. Adequate room, and plenty of storage. The shower was the tube style, not the curtain. The location was very convenient - just down the hall, and one deck up to the Centrum. The issue is the noise! My DH felt that there was an air handler of some sort directly underneath our cabin. It honestly and truly felt and sounded like we had a transport truck idling in our cabin 24/7. Yes, I do mean 24/7. Every moment of every day and NIGHT! Even on the night we 'drifted' from one ABC island to the next the noise was non stop. Worst nine nights of not sleeping I have ever had. I have never gotten off a cruise more tired than when I boarded! So just a heads up to those about to book Jewel of the Seas, and likely the other ships in this class - Radiance, Serenade and Brilliance.
  6. My wife and I just completed a 9 night Southern Caribbean cruise on the Jewel OTS of which a review is coming, but I see that many people ask about current MDR menus. We were able to photograph 6 of the nine which we will post here. Please feel free to ask any questions. One more thing, thew service and food in the Tides MDR was very good and consistent.
  7. Hi Folks, we are on Jewel of the seas this year in the Med, do any of you seasoned RCI's have information on cabins 4048 outside and 8008 very small balcony. Are they okay or will cabin 4048 get noise from deck 5 promenade, I know the balcony on 8008 is very small but is the cabin ok. Any info much appreciated. Kind regards Viv.
  8. Has anyone information on these balcony cabins that are first balcony cabin (small balcony) either port or starboard. How small is the balcony? is the cabin itself of normal size. Any info or pics much appreciated.
  9. We will be on the Jewel in Feb. Who is CD on the Jewel now.
  10. Ok, time is coming down to the wire. We leave for FLL for our Jewel of the Seas trip this Thurs. I'm starting to freak out. We booked our return flight for 11:50 on SW out of FLL for the 27th. I normally don't book a flight before 1 p.m.; however, their next earliest flight was after 4 p.m. I sailed on the Serenade out of Boston this past Sept., and we did self walk off with our luggage. It was chaos. It took over two hours standing in line to get off the ship. For those of you who have recently sailed on the Jewel OTS in Miami, what was your experience walking off the ship with your luggage? I think are scheduled arrival time is 7 a.m.; however, I know it takes time for the ship to clear and that that time is not guaranteed as s**t can happen. Also, I am considering booking a private shuttle on Jiffy Jeff to pick us up in Miami, as the 27th is a Sunday, and I don't know if we would have to wait a considerable time after we get off the ship for a taxi, as there will be a number of ships arriving in Miami that day. Any suggestions on what we should do? We will be traveling with two other couples and their flight is also 11:50 a.m. out of FLL.
  11. We will be on the Jewel of the Seas this weekend to begin a 5 night cruise. Interested in knowing what is the least expensive specific drink package that includes "Powerade Zero". I think it's the "Classic Soda Package". Also, can anyone confirm that the 2019 price is $12.99 per night for one person. So that would be $64.95 for the 5 night cruise. Do I need to add on the 18% gratuity to that amount, making the actual total $76.64? If I don't purchase this "Classic Soda Package" until day 2 of the cruise, is it prorated for the remainder of the cruise? Happy Sailing, Suzy B
  12. How do you keep track of your kids when onboard please? We have an 11 year old but I am concerned about keeping in touch with him. I have seen an app mentioned but it’s not available on Jewel and we don’t plan on internet package - depending on responses here that might change. Do kids club know how to get in touch with you for example he’s had enough so we need to go and get him or there is an emergency? Ive seen older kids can sign themselves out of kids club. These ships are big so open to getting lost? First cruise in June. Thanks.
  13. Does anyone know who the CD will be on the Jewel for the transatlantic cruise in March 2019 from Miami to Rome . I have reach out to RCCL and a few CD’s I know personally but no one has a clue . Thanks
  14. Hi all ...we have cabins 7144 and 7146 on hold for an October Jewel Of The Seas cruise. The cabins are listed as obstructed view with the ladder. Has anyone stayed in these cabins before and does anyone have any photos of the obstructed view. Also keen to know if noise from deck 6 is an issue. Any other tips or feedback for first time cruisers? Thank you. :)
  15. What time is the solarium cafe open on the Jewel and also what kind of food do they serve?
  16. Hi, we are booking our transfer for jewel of the seas 29th March 2019 please can you give me the address of the terminal, thanks janice
  17. The November 5th Jewel of the Seas Transatlantic cruise has had 3 ports cancelled and replaced with the Canary Islands. The November 5th Navigator of the Seas Transatlantic has had 3 ports cancelled and replaced with the Canary Islands. Same issue, weather related. Understandable. So what’s discriminating about that? The discrimination is in the fact that Royal is giving the Navigator passengers OBC of $100-300 per cabin plus a future cruise credit for 25% of the cruise fare value per person on a future cruise. Royal isn’t offering Jewel passengers any competition! As as a passenger on Jewel it seems ridiculous and short-sighted of Royal Caribbean to offer some passengers compensation and not others. We were both impacted by the exact same storm and extreme itinerary changes to both cruises. Having been a very loyal Royal cruiser in the past it makes me question if I want to continue cruising with them when there are so many other choices available!!!
  18. Does anyone know if we need to pack any formal or theme outfits for this cruise please ? i always like to be prepared. thank you
  19. I know that Windjammer is usually very crowded on embarkation day, is the main dining room open for lunch on this day? What about the sandwiches and pizza at the solarium, is this available during embarkation? We will be doing a 16 day cruise, does the menu for dinner in the main dining room repeat during this time? Does anyone know if it is like a seven day rotation? Since there is not a Johnny Rockets on the Jewel, is there another option to get shakes?
  20. Anyone know what nights are formal on a 9 night Jewel cruise and where they will be broadcasting the Superbowl? Thank You!
  21. It’s been quite some time since traveling from Miami. We have a cruise from Miami on Jewel and want to know what terminal it goes out of and how is the parking? Any other comments will be helpful.
  22. I will be sailing on the Panama transit in March, I have not sailed Royal since 2002. On Carnival there are six shelves in the bathroom that hold all our toiletries, it looks like there is a cabinet in the bathroom on Jewel, if so, how many shelves are inside and will it hold all the items that two people need? I saw a mention about "theme nights" does anyone know what sort of theme? I would like to dress appropriately. On Carnival we have the Carnival Hub, which allows us to access all events and menus. From my research, it does not look like Jewel has anything like this, is that true? Thank you for any advice you have. Looking forward to this trip!
  23. We are sailing on Jewel next month. Does anyone have current information on menus, (5night cruise) current entertainment, and any other observations you wish to share? Our first cruise in 3 years, plus it's for our 25th anniversary, so I am trying to learn what I can in advance for planning purposes. Thanks.
  24. Is this still a thing? We did a whiskey tasting on Serenade 3 years ago and had a blast. I tried searching the boards but came up empty on an answer. I just remember on Serenade it was in the cruise compass one day, we didn't have to purchase a ticket in advance. Thanks!
  25. Sailing on Jewel next month. We are in one of the newer balcony cabins installed on deck 11 in 2016. Has anyone sailed in one of them? Any difference from standard balcony cabins on other decks besides being newer?
