Good from Niagara and hope all are well. Just waiting on tests for husband that he has no recurrence of cancer and my self waiting on knee surgery. Interesting week . Anyway prayers for everyone on the sick list and I love cole slaw in any way shape or for, m. Generally I make dressing by thinning mayo with lemon juice and it’s pretty nice. Well we see if we sail on Koningsdam in May , have not been to west side of Canada butI can heartilyreccomend the East coast, particularly Newfoundland where my family originates. Terra Nova national park is just stunning and the people there are very nice. Tge humour is off the charts. Happy Earth Day to all my friends on this board and take care.

I've done all the normal (sadly it's only this app that gives me issues) things to try to see daily dinner menus in the MDR. Cleared data and cache, uninstalled, etc. The rest of the app is ok, just can't load the new daily dinner menus for club orange and MDR anymore. On the Koningsdam in 6 weeks...maybe it'll be working then?🤣

Mine isn’t working either, numerous issues with booking transfers and no menus on Koningsdam

They were still selling the junk on the Koningsdam 2 weeks ago, not on Zaandam or Volendam.

I've seen the seafood feasts on Princess and Celebrity and Cunard, and the people look a little silly, sitting there in bibs. I really do miss the pea soup on an open bow, even if it's freezing, and I really love that HAL makes such an effort to provide excellent regional dishes (and now entertainment) based on itinerary. So on Koningsdam recently I was happy to see lots of local dishes, although I also remember pre-Covid that they did a huge Mexican buffet night once, as well as a deck salmon cookout in Alaska, and in Mexico they'd have 'Mexican ambassadors' along to do language classes and dancing/singing

I'm happy it's still around, but irritated I haven't been invited to one since restart. Before shutdown, all 1-star and above were invited, and it was a special occasion and really fostered loyalty, with free drinks and tiles handed out, and a speech from the captain. I've mostly done Koningsdam since restart, so maybe on a larger ship they only invite higher loyalty levels, to keep crowds down. I have Noordam in 10 days (if I clear standby) and Zaandam multiple times, so maybe on a small ship they'd have one for even 3-star peons like me.

And there's just one more PEV sailaway after this….Zuidy returns from the World Cruise on May 11. For those interested in following the Alaska Juneau sail ins, the first one starts on April 29 for the Koningsdam. ms Volendam will be at pier 26 from 5:30 am to 5:00 pm, and she is on a 13 night Atlantic Coast Voyage Also in port is Odyssey of the Seas at pier 18, (5:15 am to 6:00 pm), and Celebrity Reflection at pier 25, (6:00 am to 3:30 pm) The PTZtv webcam can be found at https://www.portevergladeswebcam.com/. On most of my recent cruises I ordered decaf in the MDR every evening as it was a delicious nespresso brew, no charge. Unfortunately on my recent Koningsdam cruise they walked around with a carafe and I am pretty certain some evenings the pour was not decaf.

Looking for opinions, recommendations, and advice for finding the best decaf coffee on the Koningsdam. Cannot drink regular coffee for health reasons. At home I drink exclusively Peet’s decaf - hands down the best decaf. Also, does room service deliver coffee in thermal carafes and if so, how long does it stay hot? Thanks!

If you have paid for Club Orange or if you are in a Neptune Suite on a ship that does not have a CO dining room you will have a separate priority entry line to the main dining room. I don’t know if you will get a special CO menu (you should) but if you don’t see the CO entree listed, just ask your server what the CO entree is. Even when eating in a CO dining room on the Koningsdam the servers sometimes had to tell us what the special was.

Recently on Koningsdam 18 day to Hawaii from San Diego and had Thermal Suite pass. I visited every day and never had any issues. There were some folks who were "napping" on the heated loungers, but I always found a free heated lounger. As for the pool, often I was the only one in there, and sometimes maybe a few others. Never crowded for sure. Steam rooms also never crowded. I never used the cold chill shower, not my thing. I booked my Thermal Pass ahead of time and it was worth every penny!

We have CO on the Koningsdam.. We still have to wait to get into the CO dining room if we happen to arrive at the wrong time.

I was curious so I looked at the March 22,2025 HAL cruise on Koningsdam under the $2 deposit & the price for a veranda state room is $2728.00 . when I nooked it with HAL ,it was $2118 .00 & mY TA got it for us @ $1986 .00 with $300 un on board credit 7 vthat is not uet counting the $100 we get from our CCL stock Hmm so it seems that the $2 deposit sale has some higher prices

While I do always look at VMax1700's charter/group list there is no way to know for certain the size of the group involved. Case in point, I was part of a group booked on an Alaska cruise on the Koningsdam. (It was a Genealogy group). We were about 150 total and did have exclusive use of some rooms and the theater on sea days. That was it. Some people probably had no idea we were on the boat really. But only the group knew how many people were booked beforehand -- so unless you were in on those communications you wouldn't know. We could have been 10 times that amount (unlikely, I know) and then it would have impacted the rest of the people. (To be fair it was also in 2022 and the ship did not sail at full capacity but it was full-ish). And depending upon how the group worked their contract/deal with HAL it might not be until close to the sail date that they have a final total # of cruisers. Which might put it after final payment for normal cruisers. So take the list as a warning, and if you do book on one of the listed weeks with a group be prepared/forewarned. You could try to do some web sleuthing to figure out if the group might be considered annoying to your cruise ideals but you may or may not turn up useful info on number of attendees. And yes, it is possible for the group to show up a bit after booking opens -- all depends upon how "put together" the management of the group is perhaps.
