  1. We usually fly to Florida and get on a ship. Have only sailed out of Cape Liberty on a 9 night Explorer cruise several years ago over Thanksgiving. Would love to try another cruise out of here because we can drive there, but so many of the itineraries are with a stop in Port Canaveral and then the Bahamas. Just curious how other like these itineraries? We are doing a 9 night on the Explorer soon with four long port days (8 or 9am till at least 5 or 6pm or later...even 8pm) which I love. I am having trouble wrapping my head around arriving in port at 12 or 1 in the afternoon. How do others feel?
  2. We were on Liberty of the Seas almost two years ago and there were drink punch cards (I think for 10 drinks) available. Has anyone who has been onboard recently confirm these are still available? Thanks!
  3. Good afternoon, Are there any recent cruisers on Liberty of the Seas that can tell me if there are theme nights ie: country Western, Disco, Caribbean or White night? And if so do you remember what port day they were on? Thanks trying to pack for February cruise.
  4. We will be on Liberty next year right after the refurbishment. Will "The Key" be offered?
  5. We are booked on Liberty in March 2021 and were checking fares for friends and noticed that sailings are showing as "sold out" for February 2021 through March 2021. Seems weird that they would be sold out this far out and for so many sailings in a row. Any thoughts on what is going on with those sailings???
  6. Aloha! We are a family of 6 with 4 children ages 12, 10, 8, and 4. We were planning to book Majesty of the Seas out of NoLa in Sept 2020, but are also looking at Liberty of the Seas or Enchantment of the Seas out of Galveston. We have only cruised with Holland America, and are looking for something more activity filled now that our children are older.
  7. I bought the soda package cheap on BF thinking Liberty had freestyle machines with all the options like dasani sparkling water, etc. Since it does not, it may not be worth it since I am diabetic and cant do caffeine either. Any clear diet drinks with the soda package? Thanks!
  8. We are sailing Oasis of the Seas out of Cape Liberty on August 1, 2020. Ports of call include Port Canaveral, Miami, Perfect Day at Coco Cay, and Nassau. This is an 8 day cruise - all others out of Bayonne all summer seem to be only 7 days and NOT including a stop at Miami. Does anyone know why this week is different and including Miami? Is anything going on special in Miami? It just seems odd, but we selected this date to have one extra day on the Oasis.
  9. I know that a later flight is best, but if we walk off with our luggage and are in line by 7 am, what would be the earliest flight we could make out of LGA if we are on the Oasis? How efficient is customs at the Cape Liberty port? We walked off in Florida and walked right off the boat. Is that possible at Cape Liberty? TIA
  10. What is one's thoughts on the difference between Jewel of the Seas vs Liberty of the Seas? We have a choice to change because of a cancelation. we are two couples with no kids. Have been on ships from the Adventure to the Symphony of the Seas. Pros and Cons.
  11. We are first time cruisers (retired, mid-60's) and on the March 29, 2020 LOS sailing out of Galveston. We are wondering about the time it takes to embark on 3/29 disembark on 4/5. What time should we arrive at the port? Is there a preferable time to arrive so we are not in long lines to board? We live in San Antonio so will be driving to Galveston the morning of the cruise We have reserved parking at the port's parking lot. Any recommendations/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  12. We booked a 7-day cruise on Liberty of the Seas, sailing this Sunday (January 12). We wanted a Grand Suite and the only option available was the Grand Suite Guaranty, which I went ahead and booked several months ago. Today, less than a week out from sailing, I got a call from the RCI Revenue department, saying there are no Grand Suites available, but they will refund us 50% of what we paid if we will accept a Junior Suite. The problem I have with this is that, even with 50% off, I won't be paying much less than what a Junior Suite typically costs, plus I will be taking pot luck on which Junior Suite I get. Also, I'll miss out on all the Grand Suite extras, like the happy hour every night (which saves us a ton on drinks). Has this happened to anyone else, and if so would you please let me know how you resolved it? We will be Emerald status after this cruise, plus we have another 10-day cruise booked for later this year. I would think RCI would want to take care of us, and personally I think what they are offering so far is pathetic. I'm ready to cancel the entire cruise, plus cancel our next cruise and go with another cruise line altogether. Thoughts? Negotiating tactics?
  13. Anyone know if they have the roast beef carving station on Liberty like they do in the Park Cafe on the bigger ships? I love them!
  14. I have been looking for hotel recommendations near the cruise terminal. Shuttles are not a concern as we will be driving in. Looking for something clean, comfortable and somewhat reasonable in cost. I have checked the East Coast departures but there doesn't seem to be anything current.
  15. I have only cruised once - that was on Harmony. We did the soda package with the cup and freestyle machines. We are going on Liberty next but I just saw that they are not on the list of ships with freestyle machines. How does the soda package work without the machines? I am asking because I love the Dasani Sparkling water. If we just have to go ask for a soda, there probably aren't all the flavor abilities of the machines. Thanks for any help. First time on the Liberty.
  16. Are there refrigerators in the rooms on the Liberty of the Seas and if so are they filled or empty?
  17. Taking Royal Caribbean Liberty of the Seas in two days and stopping in Jamaica and need to take a taxi To Montego Bay. How do you make sure it's an authorized taxi? Does anyone know if you can pay taxis in US dollars? Has anyone paid a taxi to Montego Bay? I know it’s not recommended, but I need to get to Sandals. What was the cost, of you went to Montego Bay, please? Thank you!
  18. I see on their site it is $25 a day, just curious if we pay up front or when we return, and what the general process is. Thank you in advance!
  19. It has been a while since I was on the ship. Does the room have the sofa by the door and the beds by the balcony. I am trying to make sure my mom can sleep on the sofa bed and be close to the bathroom when she has to get up vs passing the other bed. Pictures show it but I wasn't sure if it was different in different rooms of that category
  20. Is any one else furious about Royal Caribbean taking away priority boarding for Diamond and Diamond plus members on Liberty of the Seas? We have been put in the general boarding line instead of our own line like we had back last spring. They have given the "Key" passengers access to board with Pinnacle and Suite passengers and put the Diamond and Diamond plus members in general line. Just one more thing that Royal Caribbean has taken away from us. Wise up Royal Caribbean, we have paid more for our ammenities that we have earned than any "Key" cruiser will. Stop taking our earned ammenities from us. Maybe we need to bombard Royal Caribbean with complaints.
  21. We were on the Liberty of the Seas 12/1 sailing. My wife and I took 4 grandchildren (7-15). We are Diamond plus but we have not been on Royal for a couple years. Here are some plus and minuses I saw-Not sure if the minuses are ship specific issue or fleet wide but they definitely influenced our cruise. However we had a memory filled awesome cruise. +++ pluses The passengers (lots from Texas) were some of the friendliest people I ever met. The crew were accommodating and professional. Food was good not great-MDR and Windjammer. - - - minuses MDR waitstaff seemed rushed and resulted in poor service-slow drink service-courses not synced -very inconsistent. From what I saw -this was due to the fact the assistant waiters are no longer teamed with 1 waiter-they float between several tables. Johnny Rockets-charge of $12 per person surprised me and caught me off guard-looks like no more JRs for us. Debarkation in Galveston was very strange-seems to me Royal wanted everyone to self assist. I had a 1 pm flight from Hobby and was told to self assist to assure we arrived on time. We never self assist because we like to relax our travel day-especially with 4 kids. We went to our assigned area deck 4 dining room-it was chaotic and disorganized. Though I never do self assist it seemed like there was alot of people self assisting-It took us an hour in line. So they must not have started calling luggage tags till 9-9:30. -IMO Royal was pushing the self assist to save on their labor-I had 1 pm flights before in other ports and was never advised to take my own luggage off. Is this the norm now? Jamaica-Not a fan as a cruise stop-I feel like we are tolerated not welcomed by the locals because we are their source of income. Nothing against them they are a great people and are blessed with a beautiful island.
  22. Good morning everyone Liberty of the Seas amp schedule is to be sometime in 2021. Does anyone know exactly when in 2021? We are planning to go on LOS in August of 2021 and wondering if she will be amped by then. :-) Thanks
  23. Hi all, I would love some advice. My husband and I are sailing on Liberty leaving 12/22 along with our 2 small kiddos- baby is 6 months toddler is 3. We’ll definitely try putting them in nursery and aquanauts while on board, and we’re looking for little kid friendly activities at the ports- Roatan, Belize City, and Cozumel. We’re pretty chill and easily entertained. Would appreciate good transportation recommendations (car rental, taxi, shuttle bus with car seats... we’re schlepping ours from home and not super long driving times), good beach recommendations with calm water and shade, playgrounds, kid friendly restaurants, etc. We are willing to book shore excursions through the ship if they aren’t too expensive and we are also willing to do things on our own. One more piece: we’re a family with 2 dads so gay friendly is crucial. Thanks all!!!
  24. I know they used to have a Squeeze, can anyone confirm if thats still there after the refurb? Is there a vitality spa equivalent? Also if anyone can post menus of these places from Liberty of the seas. I'm trying to see what options i have for fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies. Thanks
  25. Does anyone know how long Oasis of the Seas will be leaving from Cape Liberty? I believe it’s coming in May of 2020, but didn’t know for how long thanks
