  1. We are on Anthem Sept 21 and we are driving to the port and parking at the port. Oh our time says 11:00-11:30 but we plan on getting there at 10:15-10:30. They don't really care if you are early right? With the parking, can you elect to park in the over flow parking even though you are early enough to park in the garage? It looks like less of a hassle and I'm not the biggest fan of parking garages.
  2. My family has traveled on a few cruises, but we've always chosen itineraries instead of ships. I was wondering if it might be worth trying our home port (Cape Liberty) since we have 3 kids including an infant to be on a fun ship for the kids. My dream for a long time had been to travel to Cuba, but since that isn't an option I'm wondering if a local ship for an easy vacation might be something to try. The ships in Cape Liberty are: Oasis of the Seas Vision of the Seas Adventure of the Seas Anthem of the Seas Empress Are there any ships among these that would be your top choices of activities for a young family (children are currently aged 8, 4 and 9 months) . We'd wait until the baby was over a year to sail.
  3. Flying into Newark the night before sailing on Adventure out of Cape Liberty. Looking for recommendation of hotel just for the night as we will be arriving late and heading to the port in the morning. Thank you
  4. We are about book Liberty for next May. There will be 4 of us, myself, DW, DS and our 6 year old granddaughter, who has been on Harmony twice and Anthem once. She would spend hours on both the carousel and the lucky climber. LOS has neither of these. She really enjoyed Adventure Ocean on HOS. How does that compare with AO on Liberty. I hope there is enough on Liberty to keep her amused. DW is somewhat mobility challenged. She will use a scooter as much as possible. Her favourite port is Grand Cayman. That is a tender port. With some effort she will be able to get on/off the tender but it is quite a walk to where you get the excursions vans/ buses or taxi. Are there wheel chairs available
  5. I know there is information somewhere on this stuff but could not find it so...…..We will be sailing Liberty March 2020 and I was wondering what the best way to get from Hobby Airport to Galveston would be. Also a decent hotel to stay in the night before in Galveston. How long ahead of time should I make the reservations? Don't like to wait until the last minute and want to try to get the ducks at least flying in the same direction.
  6. Hello all, We have an upcoming cruise next month on RC LOTS. I've only cruised one other time, so am still an inexperienced cruiser. My wife and I will be bringing our 10 y/o and 4 y/o with us. The last time we cruised was also on RC and my wife and I really liked Sabor, and wished we had tried more of the specialty restaurants during the trip. I noticed that RC now offers specialty dining packages, so I purchased the unlimited one to give is the freedom to try them all out while we are there. One of our relatives, who is an experienced cruiser, shared with us that going to the specialty restaurants with our kids (mainly the 4 y/o, whom can be at handful at times), would not be appreciated by the other guests and that we may want to reconsider that option. I know RC will allow us to bring our kids, but we do want to be respectful of the other passengers. We were really looking forward to trying out some of the nicer specialty restaurants on the ship, so I am just wondering what the general pulse on this is and if I should cancel the specialty dining package, and just go to the regular restaurants on the ship instead? TIA
  7. First trip on RCCL and we are wanting to know what options are available for lunch when you board the ship around noon and don't leave until 4p...not interested in the specialty upgrade options, just the "free" stuff
  8. I know there have probably been people asking these questions but I have not found those threads so far. We are sailing Liberty in March 2020 and I need to book drinks, food, and I guess whatever we think we will need. I have just booked a week of internet for one and the mystery dinner for 5. Will those things be waiting when we board? In our suite or at check-in? I was looking at the Premium drink package at $28 but when I went to purchase instead of the $748 they were going to charge me almost $1000. Are gratuities added when you purchase the package, and when I purchase the dining package do they add gratuities at the time of purchase also. I have to be honest and say that at the cost we will be adding to the suite price I could have booked a Star Class room on Anthem and probably gotten away with less money. I would appreciate any help from anyone who has done all this on board stuff, where I my genie when I need him....on a different ship. Thanks
  9. Has anyone done this class on Liberty? Did you sign up for the guacamole class on the ship or can you reserve a spot before cruising? What all does it include? I saw reviews about it from someone on a different Royal ship and they were also given a free souvenir cup and avocado tool. Did you receive anything?
  10. How do we find out who the ship's doctor is? We are trying to remember his name from the Liberty in 2017. He was so helpful and I contribute him in saving my husband's life. We will be on the Liberty in May 2020 and wanted to stop by and tell him thank you.
  11. The premium beverage package which does not include alcohol lists premium coffee except anything from Starbucks...so is there another option for lattes, etc. that is available on the ship? I don't need starbucks, but regular coffee is free so what are the premium coffees available and where do you get them? also, are they unlimited like the sodas?
  12. We are considering a cruise on Liberty. Does anyone know if there is a lucky climber on board. We will have our young granddaughter with us. She has been on Harmony twice and spent hours on the lucky climber
  13. I apologize if this has already been answered on other threads but when I did a search all I could find was a ton of discussion on Johnny Rockets milkshakes and whether or not they are included in the drink packages or using the ultimate dining package at JR. My question is how does it work when you use a 3-5 night dining package (not the Ultimate dining package) at Johnny Rockets specifically on Liberty? The fine print says that you get a $35 food credit at a la carte venues which I've read is how Johnny Rockets on Liberty is currently operating. So does this mean that I can order $35 worth of food at JR in place of using one of my nights at Chops or Giovanni's? Thank you.
  14. We are sailing in May 2020 and looking to book some of the speciality restaurants. Which night are usually the formal nights in the MDR?
  15. Although we are avid cruisers, this is our first time on Royal Caribbean. We are 4 adults late 50's to early 60's. Read through some of the facts and just want to clarify, each stateroom can bring 12 water bottles on board and 2 bottles of wine? Do these items need to be carried on? Any tricks, if you are not buying the beverage package? Is the coffee card worth buying and how does the pricing actually work? First time are main dining rooms good or should we think about buying the Chops Grille plus one before we board? Do they offer any beverage package specials after we board, or only in advance? Where is the best place to do lunch when we board? What does Royal usually do on New Year's Eve? Does Royal let you book shows in advance? For 4 of us, should we book ahead for some nights on Anytime dining? Anything else a newbie on RCCL should know about embarkation day and beyond? Anything not to miss do/eat/see. Thank you!
  16. we are cruising in November 2019 on LOS. we have sailed this ship before but I can't remember if there are outlets near the bed. do I need to bring an extension? I like to have a fan next to the bed. should I ask for one or bring one?
  17. We are trying to make dining reservations but want to be done eating so that we can go to the late show. What time is the late show each evening? We will be on the Liberty of the Seas out of Galveston.
  18. Does anyone know if it's worth it to buy liquor from Liberty of the seas ship store or in port in Cozumel? Wasn't sure if you really save anything
  19. is there an easy way to find out which show will be playing on my cruise? we are sailing on LOS - November 3rd. I they would all be fun but I just want to know what we are looking forward to.
  20. We usually sail on Celebrity but are thinking about taking our son and family (wife and three kids) on Liberty out of Galveston. Is there a link for the best cabins? Any thoughts on the aft cabins? Any advice would be appreciated!
  21. Has anyone used cabin 9694 on the Liberty of the seas? And do you have any pictures? Thanks
  22. Does Liberty of the Seas just have open seating for their shows and entertainment? Or is that something I will need to make reservations for when in gets closer?
  23. Anyone who has been on the Liberty recently..do you know if they have the Coke freestyle machines on there?
  24. I understand these 2 BR grand suites located in the aft of the ship were previously one larger suite (Presidential maybe)? My question is because these suites are essentially one very large suite split into two large suites, is there an advantage of one side vs the other? From what I can tell on Youtube, aside from the differences in the layout (for example, where the master is located), the two cabins on each aft seem similar. The only exception is looking at the balconies for 6416 and 6716 where the port side cabin has a bar, and the starboard side cabin has a hottub left over from the one huge balcony for when the two were one large cabin.
