  1. Getting ready to cruise. This is our FREE RCI cruise. ( more details on that later) One email we received a few weeks back. We will miss Labadee. More to come.
  2. My understanding is that it's just one elevator bank to get to the Crown Loft Suites on Symphony. Also, how is Muster handled? Do we watch a film and then go to our station to check in?
  3. Oasis class ships, specifically Symphony of the seas, I’m trying to see which cabins would kind of overlook where they have the musicians in Central Park. I think it would be above Jamie’s on one side and Park cafe on the other? Is this correct? And I’m thinking like deck 11 if some are available. We’ve done deck 9 with CP window and loved it but would like the balcony.
  4. How's the suite area on Symphony? Any shade? How's the drink service? I know there's a hot tub.
  5. I’m planning a family cruise and comparing these 2 ships. Not exactly sure how many will be going in our group but know we’ll have 2 adults in 60’s, 3 in 30’s, a 5 year old and a 2 year old. What are pros and cons? The largest ship I have sailed on is Adventure. How do these ships compare? Are they more crowded, wait times for my time dining, etc. Not really too concerned with ports, more about ships. I also know this is all subjective but would like others opinions. Thanks
  6. Hi! We are looking at a Panama Canal cruise that is on the Joy. Our one really big ship experience was on the Symphony of the Seas and we did not like it at all. All of the extra bells and whistles aren't really important to us and the few things we enjoyed were far outnumbered by the feeling that everywhere was crowded and we were constantly waiting in line, even though for meals and entertainment, I made all of the reservations I could, on the first day it was available. Quite a long while ago, the second largest ship we ever sailed on was the Explorer of the Seas. We really enjoyed this ship and didn't feel the crowding issues as we did on the Symphony of the Seas. We aren't foodies, but I like to be able to be seated fairly quickly, early in the evening in the main dining rooms. I like to be able to find tables at breakfast in the buffet, especially on port mornings. I like to be able to see non-reserved shows without having to line up outside of the theater to wait for the doors to open because it fills up long before the shows start. Any personal experience with the Joy would be appreciated, especially if you can compare it to these other ships.
  7. Can you help us pick our embarkation day Lunch on Symphony? Leaving soon and haven't decided. It's our 12th RCCL cruise but 2nd in suite class. We have always done the Windjammer or Solarium. Looking for something a little calmer. Is Costal Kitchen open for Lunch? Any ideas on what the Genie can do for us.
  8. Hi everybody, I have a confirmed 11:30am check in, but I have the Key, so I'm just wondering what the earliest check in time in Cape Liberty for Symphony of the Seas in May 2024 is (b/c I need to get on board to reconfirm allergy accommodations with a few places - including the Key lunch, and I'd like to do it before the madness of a sold out ship all being on board). Thanks for any info you can provide!
  9. Hello, My son and I are booked on this short 3 day cruise. I was able to book Hairspray and HIRO. However, someone on our roll call mentioned there would be no shows on this cruise! Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks!
  10. We were recently on Allure and the silent disco was on Boadwalk and we just loved that, it was so fun and lively. More space to move around compared to Studio B.... and it was fun watching the people when we returned to our room on the Boardwalk. So I was wondering if Symphony also uses the Boardwalk now for the silent Disco? Thanks!
  11. We’ve been on the Oasis and on the Allure and found that the little shelves and nooks surrounding the desk/vanity/mirror to be quite useful. My husband and I would put things like cans of sunscreen, snacks, cups, sunglasses, etc on them. Out of the way but easily accessible. Here I am ready to embark on Saturday and I’ve probably looked at videos of cabins a dozen times or more. But I JUST noticed that there are none of those handy little places in the cabin on the Symphony - except in the bathroom. Does anyone have any suggestions where to stash those kinds of items on the Symphony? I’m losing sleep over this! lol! Am I going to need to go out and buy an over the door shoe thingie tomorrow? Have taken lots of trips to Disney and 3 cruises and avoided using one of these things. Maybe until now?
  12. Just wondering if anyone knows what is the price of a glass of Pinot Grigio on this ship. I wonder if it is worth purchasing the drink package at $70.00 per day.
  13. I have really appreciated all the info on these boards so I thought I would give back and share my thoughts on our Mediterranean cruises. Hubby and I traveled with our 4, mid twenties children, and spent 7 nights on Symphony then boarded Virgin’s Valiant lady for 7 additional nights. We love cruising the Mediterranean but it can be exhausting with such port intensive itineraries. First, I am a loyal Royal, diamond/prime and purchased the Key for everyone in our group. We loved Hairspray, looked forward to drinks at the Central Park Trellis Bar, enjoyed our free diamond and casino drinks, and was surprised by how much we liked just the once a day cabin cleaning. Key- paid $10 more than internet pkg. price, not worth it. Half of my group are vegetarian and Key lunch waiter literally said we can not accommodate vegetarians, “you can order the Caesar salad”(not vegetarian). This was the start of a bunch of little annoying things that continued to add up throughout the week. The food rumors are true, dining was mostly unremarkable to down right bad all week. If you are a steak and potato kinda person then you might be okay with the bland menu, but I guess we were looking for a more healthy, creative dining experience. Besides food, here is a list of things that need to change pronto! Beds- come on Royal your beds are the worst in the industry! I always have to ask for a mattress pad for my aching back. Casino- Make it smoke free! Are Royal casinos the only ones that allow smoking?! Towels/pool- stop requiring people to check/return towels, it’s a pain in the backside. Price- We paid a lot for this cruise and felt like we did not get our money’s worth. Royal tries to be everyone’s cruise- bring the kids, grandpa, honeymooners etc. maybe this dilutes the experience by trying to make everyone happy? Virgin cruises, much better fit for my adult group. If you are a “foodie”, like a ship with no kids, socially laidback, and enjoy a smoke free casino then Virgin is the way to go. Prices were similar but it’s like comparing apples to oranges, that’s how much better Virgin’s experience was compared to Royal. To be fair, Virgin only had 900 passengers vs Royals sold out ship so I’m sure our spectacular service would have been quite different with a full ship. We have always enjoyed our Royal cruises but this last one was just too underwhelming for us. Sorry for the negative post but I needed to vent, Royal’s survey link has already expired🤪. We will enjoy our Prime/casino cruise next February on Jewel of the Seas, but will move on and try other cruise lines in the future. If you have any questions, fire away!
  14. We're thinking about booking a junior suite on Symphony. I'm thinking if you allow RCI to pick your cabin there's a good chance you'll get one on the deck below the pools. How bad is the noise?
  15. Can someone confirm Symphony 3/31 sailing change - I’m reading conflicting reports of Coco Cay 4/2 and also 4/1. I’ll be on Wonder which is scheduled for Coco Cay 4/1 - trying to see if we have two ships on our day. From everything I can see, Wonder is still the only ship on 4/1, but seeing the earlier post about three ships on 4/2….thinking one of those may scoot over to 4/1.
  16. So I just reserved a casita on our cruise on symphony in 3 months. It didn't say if it was an ocean facing view or poolside and It didn't give me the option of choosing. How do we make sure it is a poolside one?
  17. Hi everyone. We’re sailing on Symphony this summer. My husband uses a vaping mod. We know that he has to go to the smoking areas. Will someone tell us where exactly the smoking areas are, on the ship? Thanks! 🚬 P.S. I don’t smoke or vape, just asking for my husband. 💍 🎩
  18. I have always used a wireless travel Router at Hotels (TP-Link AC750 Travel Router) as I do not like being ‘open’ on wireless connections. I read somewhere that many ships, even with Starlink, had very poor connectivity in your stateroom? I’m will be more aft on the 12th floor on Symphony and want to make sure that I actually would get connectivity without a problem… as I do most of my on-line work in my cabin and if the connection is bad… would not buy the daily package. Anyone have experiences?
  19. We are booked on Symphony and wondered where Muster station E2 is located. thanks!
  20. Cabins on deck 8 and 9 that surround Dazzles was there a lot of noise coming from the club?
  21. Looking to possibly bid on an Ultra Spacious Ocean View with Large Balcony on our upcoming Symphony of the Seas cruise. Anyone know if the bunk beds are standard twin size? Son is 6'2" and didn't know if he would fit.
  22. Hello, My son and I are considering a 3 day cruise in early May after he gets home from college and begins his summer job. I have narrowed the search down to 3 options in order of preference. Symphony 3 day from FLL, Allure 3 day from PC, AND Celebrity Reflection. My questions are primarily if you have sailed on both lines; will Celebrity be too sedate for him? Also will the RCCL cruises be too “wild” for me? Also I like the fact that Symphony has been refurbished, but Celebrity is cheaper! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! I am going to book today because the Symphony sailing increased by $300 yesterday! Ouch!
  23. Hello Everyone Can you stream from a device to the television wirelessly? Or can you connect a HDMI cable to the television, particularly in the crown loft rooms?
  24. We will be sailing on the symphony of the seas departing June 14, 2024. check-in opens April 30, 2024 My question is when they say check-in opens April 30, 2024 does it begin at 12 midnight on that day or a specific time during the day. I would like to check in as soon as I possibly can to help insure an early boarding time. Any information will be greatly appreciate it. Also does your Tier level have any impact on boarding time or process??
  25. Does anyone know the name of recent entertainer in pub. The name is not listed on app. Also who is in Dazzles We are on ship 3-23-24 for 8 day cruise Thank you
