Hi - Does anyone know if the Verandah cabins on the Nieuw Amsterdam (Rotterdam Deck) have an accessible HDMI port on the TVs? I assume there is one on the back - but is there one along the side that we'll be able to use? Thanks! :) -
We have a deck 10 veranda cabin on an upcoming Alaska N.A. 7 day cruise. I received upgrade offers for Neptune and Signature Suites. Neptune was too expensive and Signature basically is just a larger space. We are going to stay in the one we already have. Anyone think we should upgrade. We are not in our cabin except to sleep. Thoughts? TIA.

We're thinking of getting a Signature Suite "Guarantee" cabins on the N Amsterdam. I see categories SS, SY and SZ. There are no Signature suites available for booking today. SZ is the "guarantee" category I think. There are only 2 SYs on deck 5, all the way forward and they appear to be handicapped accessible only. There are only 4 SYs on deck 6. Those have "odd" shaped balconies just forward of the "hump". The same for deck 7, again 4 SYs with similar dimensions. Category SS appears to be the most abundant Signature suite on the ship. There are 4 SSs on deck 5. I'd assume they have the same cabin and balcony size as other SS cabins, but the only video I found on SS5098 shows a very small balcony. The cabin looks the same as all the other SS cabins. I assume the other 3 SS cabins on deck 5 are the same since they are all located next to each other. There are many SS cabins on deck 6. The videos I have found for those show a much larger balcony than those for SS cabins on deck 5. Can that be right? We'd like to get a Signature cabin, but NOT if it has a small balcony as indicated in the one video I found for SS5098 on deck 5. If anyone has stayed in the Signature suites on the N Amsterdam, especially those four on deck 5 and compare the balcony to an SS on deck 6, I'd really like to hear from you! Doug -

Have two friends currently on the Nieuw Amsterdam which experienced an explosive accident aboard the ship this morning. Two crew members were killed. Very tragic information.

Most of the handicap cabins on Nieuw Amsterdam are like the standard size cabin according to the web site " Cruise Ship Deck Plans " . There were 2 balcony cabins on deck 6 way up front of the ship that were handicap size . We were amazed that HAL could call a standard cabin size as handicap Is there any one who sailed this ship & stayed in one of those so called handicap cabins & their impression of the handicap facilities ? The Nieuw Amsterdam is taking the place of Konigsdam in late 2025 & on in the San Diego cruise port

I have a very few days to go before I fly out on Tuesday to Amsterdam to start the adventure there until we board the Rotterdam on Saturday. We have a huge and wonderful roll call so I wanted to start my LIVE thread early in the hopes that with the link provided, some of them will join in 🤞 We have some nice, different things to do in Amsterdam and fun planned on board and in our ports. It should be a great cruise! My fingers are crossed that this thread doesn’t end up like the last one 😉 🤞

Well, this will be an interesting sailaway….6 ships in port, with 3 scheduled for 3:00 pm, and 2 scheduled for 3:30. January 2026 Holland will not have Koningsdam doing Hawaii or Mexico cruises .They will ve using Nieuw Amsterdam ,a smaller ship . Just checking the 18 day Early Booking Hawaii cruise prices have really soared , additionally ,if any one requires a handicap cabin ,this shi calls standard size cabins handicap , so we tried booking a outside state room to upgrade to a deck 6 way up front handicap which are the few that woud be real handicap state rooms . I was willing to pay the outside price with the early booking Have It All , The resolution dept would not budge . Imo ,people who are handicapped can not use a standard size stateroom which does not have roll in showers . Check it out on deck plans

This begins my traditional "live" thread. During my15-day repositioning cruise through the Panama Canal and another seven days in the Caribbean, I will be collecting menus, answering CC questions, chasing rumors, experiencing the west entrance to the canal for the first time, giving my impressions (except on food quality), interviewing crew members, trying some new beaches, meeting CC members, and experiencing new excursions. Although I have my standard list of questions to ask, I encourage all new ones to be posted here. If you are on this cruise with me, feel free to add your experiences and photos. Our family is sailing on the Nieuw Statendam this summer, booked as a single 24 night cruise. It's also sold in segments (10 or 14 nights). Day 10 is in Amsterdam, where a lot of pax will be getting off, and new ones will be getting on. We've done a b2b in the US, but we're technically on a single sailing with a single booking number for this cruise. 1) We arrive at 7am. Will we be able to get off the ship once it's cleared when we wish quickly/easily, or will we need to go through immigration and be processed with everyone who is disembarking? If it makes a difference, the last stop before Amsterdam is in the UK, with a sea day immediately before Amsterdam. 2) The ship leaves at 3pm. Obviously we'll be back with plenty of time, but will there be a significantly earlier than usual all aboard time since many pax will be embarking? Just wanting to plan if we would need to be back at 12pm vs 2pm or so. Thanks!

My wife and I have sailed several times on the Nieuw Amsterdam and on our last trip from San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale, via the Panama Canal we booked a family cabana for the entire cruise. It was delightful and I would be glad to answer questions on the Cabanas if anyone is interested.
