  1. Hi! Our cruise has been postponed for the second time now; the room we have booked the last two times is taken. Our travel agent offered us a room nearby or asked if we were interested in one of those bump out rooms. We are very new to cruising so I spent last night trying to find my answer but haven't found anything, hoping someone can help here. We are on the Eclipse, Alaskan Cruise RT Vancouver, 2A balcony room in early July (originally our honeymoon but will now be an anniversary trip 😅) We were specifically looking at 7189, 7197 midship (which is where
  2. Hi, all, So I've noted the Eclipse is now docked (past few days) at the TUAS Shipyard in/near Singapore. She was set to be refurbished in March. Does anyone know if this refurb is going to happen in March? I can't find a peep about it.
  3. As anticipated, since Celebrity moved Solstice to Asia, the South Pacific deployment continues to be slightly pared down. Press release here: "...the return of the award-winning Celebrity Eclipse in Australia and New Zealand for the 2022-23 season with a series of curated 5- to 18-night itineraries immersing guests in the natural wonders and sublime coastline of the land Down Under, along with the South Pacific’s enchanting tropical destinations." The stated selling points for this season (with attached screenshots of some examples): A new, unique overnight o
  4. We are hopefully taking an 18 night transpacific cruise on the Eclipse in March of 22. I was considering doing some work on sea days during the cruise. I'm aware of the time difference, but that aside, can anyone tell me their experience with the internet? Is it available on the ship in that part of the world? Is there enough bandwidth for Teams meetings? Thanks, Dave
  5. Going on a transpacific from Hawaii to Australia. I prefer the bed by the bath layout. Any thoughts on bed arrangement or balcony size for 1229 or 1231? Any thoughts on port vs starboard (hence the 1122 choice)? I wasn't thinking that side of the ship would matter, but I see a lot of comments that the side of the ship matters significantly on a TA cruise, so wondering if anyone had thoughts about a TP? I really want to be close to those elevators to be able to pop down for a drink and I don't want Aqua class because of the pool deck right above us. Any suggestions
  6. Looking for info on sunset veranda cabins on the celebrity eclipse (6307)
  7. This is a review of a great Transatlantic cruise we did on the Eclipse from Barcelona Spain to Buenos Aires in Argentina with a sail across the equator and a stop in Rio http://happytravellingwithdavie.blogspot.com/2020/11/review-of-celebrity-transatlantic.html
  8. I can not find that this has been posted. So pardon me if it has. For the longest time the Eclipse has been hanging around San Diego. Checking on her today I see she in fact left there some time back and then onto Honolulu and onto Manila with an arrival of Dec 28. On her way to get crew?
  9. DH and I are looking at a 12th deck aft cabin on the Eclipse. We have never been on the aft before and want to give it a try for Alaska. We are normally in a bump out on the hump of the 12th deck and are used to a larger balcony which I don't think we will get on the aft (unless it is the corner) but that really isn't a big deal and we are aware of it. Does anyone have any photos, pics, etc? We have never stayed in a suite and would love to give it a try depending on price but may wind up with a concierge aft....just don't know. There are not a lot of photos of 12th deck aft cabins that I
  10. Does anyone know why the Eclipse is sailing to Hawaii right now?
  11. Help, trying to decide what to book for May/June 2021. We were booked on Solstice last June so we have a credit. DH is now eyeing the Eclipse instead. We’ve cruised the Solstice in the past but he’s concerned she’s getting old and missed her dry dock. I don’t know anything about the Eclipse, cruising out of Vancouver or that itinerary. Anything you can say about it would be welcome.
  12. Hi I just thought I would share . My brother in law has just been contacted by Celebrity To advise him his Eclipse cruise in February 2021 has been cancelled .Well done Celebrity letting him know prior to full payment Date of October 25th.He was offered either a 125% Future Credit Or a refund of his deposit.he will take the refund as he already has some booked for 2021 but I am happy to see Celebrity now acting in a more customer focused way ,which will hopefully help with their Customer retention .It has renewed my faith in them . required
  13. The website shows that there is a cruise on 26 March, 2022, for 11 nights, but when you look at the itinerary, it shows 12 nights. So the next cruise would start on either 5 April or 6 April, but I don't see a cruise listed for either of those dates. Does anyone have any insight into what is going on? TIA
  14. And what are they? Looking to hopefully go to Alaska next year, staying in an aft cabin and was curious what everyone's thoughts were. Also....how are those aft cabins? 😉
  15. Hi, Hoping to hear some advice on the selection of an Aquaclass stateroom on the Eclipse...I would like to have the bed near the verandah and access to the stairs to the spa. Does anyone have any pictures of the stateroom area near the spa stairs? I have the option of selecting stateroom 1527, 1523, 1519 or 1517 and would welcome any information or pictures. Looking forward to hearing from you! Thank you
  16. Which Cabin would you select on Celebrity Eclipse to Alaska. Please tell me the pros and cons between 1120 and 1231 Thank you!
  17. Hello all First time cruiser here and booked on Alaska cruise next summer. We are in a concierge cabin and I need to know how easy (hard) it may be to stow away 3 regular size cases. Thanks. Nigel
  18. Just home from the March 1- 30 sailing of the Eclipse. We were told NO ONE was sick with the virus. Now we found out a passenger has tested positive with the virus. The passenger was diagnosed by the ship's doctor with bronchitis about a week ago. They were sent back to their cabin. Then the passenger was diagnosed with pneumonia several days ago. Upon arriving home the passenger has tested positive with the virus. Way to go Celebrity for exposing 4,000 passengers & crew to the virus. Way to go Celebrity for sending thousands home exposing who knows how many to this. You are always saying

  20. Well with all the concern about travelling in 2020, we chose to lift and shift to 2021. This will be our second trip to Alaska, and out first cruise on Celebrity. We are looking forward to the trip and plan to spend a day or so in Vancouver and we are looking forward to meeting all of our fellow cruisers. I can't wait to get planning on excursions, plans. We would love to get your input on making it the best trip ever. Please join and tell us about you and your cruising experience. Jeff and Mary
  21. See this link for an article in today's San Diego Union-Tribune. I didn't know there were some South American passengers still aboard Eclipse. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/business/tourism/story/2020-04-30/cruising-has-stopped-but-ships-with-thousands-of-crew-members-still-in-san-diego-waiting-to-return-home Cruises have stopped, but ships with thousands of crew members still in San Diego waiting to return home
  22. Hi there, Looking at changing our cruise to next year which gives us several room options. My TA has indicated that the balconies are the same size in square feet, however I see the 1233 appears much bigger. Just wondering your thoughts if you have any insight. TIA
  23. Any help from people in the UK that were on this btb cruise of South America that ended in San Diego, would be appreciated. As you know on the 14th March we were told that we were going to debark in San Antonio, Chile as the cruise was not going to continue to San Diego, USA. We all had to pack our suitcases as we had to leave the ship the next morning. There was a mad scramble to book flights home, which we had to do independently as it was very difficult to get through to any airline. We did not have Choice Air so Celebrity would not help us. We managed to book but as it was less than 3
  24. My husband and I just returned from a 7 day Alaska cruise on the Celebrity Eclipse Sept 1-8 2019. It was one of my best cruises, and probably the most relaxing one. Since I was on a brand new ship, the Norwegian Bliss last January, I will be doing some comparisons. On the Eclipse I was able to relax more, and it was less crowded than on the Bliss. The Eclipse has 1426 staterooms with 2850 passengers. The Bliss is much larger with 2043 staterooms and 4004 passengers. The Eclipse was more quiet and relaxing than the busy energy on the Bliss. Since I wanted peace and quiet on this cru
  25. 10 years ago, Celebrity Eclipse postponed her naming ceremony in Southampton, and set off on a rescue mission to repatriate tourists stuck in Spain due to the volcano eruption 🌋 cancelling flights.
