  1. Hi Folks, we are booked on the Jewel of the Seas late summer for 9nt Greek Isles cruise, I have been trying to find out from RC's live chat what time the shows finish so that I can make speciality restaurant bookings, all they can till me is they are timed for 1st & 2nd dinner sittings. Anyone been on Jewel know what time the shows begin and end even an approx time would help.
  2. I've read that there is usually lobster on the second formal night of a 7 night sailing, but that might just be for Caribbean sailings, I saw a travel blog for the Greek Isles itinerary that did not seem to show lobster for any of the nights. I was wondering if anyone could confirm this. We are trying to arrange specialty dining and don't want to miss a special meal in the MDR if we can help it. Thank you!
  3. For those that have been on the Jewel out of Rome: 1. How early have they been letting people board the ship? 2. How early did the Windjammer open for lunch on the first day? Thanks!
  4. Will be on the Jewel sailing 10/3/19 and wondering if we will tender at the old port or dock at the new port in Mykonos. Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi!!! I hoping to find some help. I am looking for a magnet from the Jewel of the Seas, my wife and I collect magnets everywhere we travel. My wife and I got married and had our honeymoon on board this ship. We just noticed we never bought a one before disembarking from the gift store on board. If you know anyone that is selling one let me know please. If you are traveling on board the Jewel of the Seas and are willing to buy one for me, I will reimburse you for the cost and shipping. The pictures I attached are just an example of the magnets we remember seeing on board the Jewel of the Seas. Thank you in advance!!!
  6. Does anyone know what pier Jewel of the Seas docks at in Civitavecchia? I'm trying to figure out if I should rent a car from Hertz or Europcar and want the shortest distance to walk to rental agency.
  7. Hello, hoping someone can help please? We’ve booked our AI drinks package ready for our cruise later in the year and I am hoping someone can confirm if the cap on drinks is still $12 or if it is $13? I’ve see from some other posts that it is $13 on the larger (newer?) ships but can’t seem to find the info on the Jewel. I’m asking in part because I’ve seen a few posts showing recent drink menus where the cost of the premium cocktail seems to be $13 as standard, but that might be on the newer ships. Thanks in advance!
  8. Can someone tell me what broadway show is on the ship? Also, what activites do they have as far as entertainment. I will be going to Greece, so I realize scenery is the most important.
  9. I have this 3 paragraph opener with all my pre-planning drafted on my work computer, but I felt like starting this now so I will post that at the end of the blog. This will be a picture heavy report and include a lot of details. I want to preface this by saying I don’t care if you reply and repost pictures...it doesn’t bother me. I’m just happy to see people reading along. I also want to say that this is my opinions and the Greek Isles seen through my eyes. Sorry if you don’t agree with something I say, just be kind about it [emoji6] No hateful comments will be responded to. This was my 6th cruise. I am 36 and bf 39. We are from Colorado and this trip was definitely bucket list for us. Ok next post will start the report.
  10. We were just on Jewel bouncing around the Greek Islands. Had a terrific time. No real complaints other than I ate too much and the outside windows could have used a hose down. Anyway, a few days into the cruise a written notice was sent to cabins asking that we double check that we had our correct luggage. Said some guests were still waiting for their luggage or something to that effect. Just seems odd that anyone would be in a cabin for a couple of days and not come to realize that the luggage they were tripping over wasn't theirs. I feel for anyone who went without their luggage but could not help but chuckle that a guest would actually check and come to realize they had someone else's luggage after a few days. IDK, maybe people steal luggage and hide it in their cabin until disembark day. Anyway, first time I've seen this in 30+/- cruises.
  11. Is there someplace where I can see a quick view of what kind of "bells & whistles" the Jewel of the Sea has? Specifically looking at what kind amenities to keep teenagers busy and active. I see a rock climbing wall and mini golf, but that's it. Is there a water slide? Thanks.
  12. Currently aboard Jewel of the Seas doing transatlantic. Questions?
  13. Can anyone share the adventure ocean flyer for the Jewel oof the seas out of Rome (Greek isles) - we are on the June 16 sailing. Or at least the hours?
  14. Sailed transatlantic from Miami to Rome March 29-April 12 with 3 additional days/nights in Rome. Love the Radiance class as just the right size and amenities for us 55+ folks. Cabins are average size with an outside with window our preference. Large window makes the room bright. We were on deck down from Guest Services and Centrum. Very quiet and private in spite of proximity to hustle and bustle of Centrum. Great shows, movies in cinema big hit with everyone we came into contact with. Food average fare in Windjammer and good to very good in dining room. Service there FAR surpasses Windjammer. CHOPS is a cut above..We did the lunch offered at 20.50 booked via cruise planner as well as the coffee card which is by far best deal aboard. Voom worked great..4 cabins in our Roll call group shared the cost 4 connection package with each of us having our own line/access. Doing her sister ship Brilliance of the Seas in Sept 2020 New England Canada roundtrip Boston . BOOKED via next cruise onboard. Reduced deposit, special pricing in effect and onboard credit.
  15. Hi folks Have noticed this cabin is available and I managed to view a video online but I'd also be keen to hear from anyone who has stayed in the cabin or opposite number. It looks good but not sure if its very private as there seems to be a gap where you can see into your neighbours balcony? And will the location be quiet? Many thanks
  16. Does the Jewel have a StTropez (topless) deck during Mediterranean cruises?
  17. Pretty sure no-one was able to book a shore excursion in Denver.
  18. I am booked on the October 21 ,2019 Italy/Greece cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. When looking on the RCCL website it appears that there are no cruise itineraries on the Jewel from the middle of September 2019 until the beginning of November 2019. Seems very strange that everyone of the cruises on the Jewel are completely sold out. Should I be worried?
  19. Deck Plans show Jewel Deck 7, Starboard side as unobstructed stateroom cabins. We are currently on Jewel, and views from ashore also show no basic obstruction. Brilliance deck plans show just about all the staterooms on Deck 7, Starboard side as obstructed. I want to book a stateroom on Brilliance, 7592, and wondering just what is the obstruction? Anybody been on board and has personal knowledge of any or what the obstruction is? I know on some Celebrity ships the obstruction might be the top of a lifeboat davit. Jewel and Brilliance are the same class ships, so just wondering. If the obstruction is minor, I just might go ahead and book as I like the location and larger balcony on the bump out.
  20. Pros and cons; lots of noise, location etc thanks
  21. Hi We've been looking at doing the Dubai to Rome cruise through the Suez Canal on Jewel of the Seas in March 2020. I've planned our itinerary before and after the cruise from Australia with a cruise date of 20th March 2020 but I've just look again and the cruise date is now 23rd March 2020. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this date change? Not a huge deal as I haven't booked flights/accommodation or the cruise yet but am wondering if I'm going crazy. Thanks Tamara
  22. We're booked on Jewel of the Seas 9 night Adriatic cruise leaving May 20, 2019...booked ocean view guarantee and just got my cabin assignment...does anyone have information on deck 2 cabins? Our cabin number is 2500
  23. We will be sailing on Jewel of the Seas this summer. Wondering where you purchase premium coffee on the ship. Is there a coffee/bakery type bar? I know this is a smaller/older ship and may not have all the bells and whistles. Thanks Chris
  24. What time do you think we will be off the ship in Port Civitavecchia? I am trying to arrange travel from the ship to Termini and then train tickets to Florence. Thanks for your help!
  25. I'm looking at a cruise for next year, the price for the inside where RCL picks the room is $1600 (for solo pricing). The price where you pick the room is $3000. This is for a 10 day Europe cruise. Does the Jewel have studio cabins and that is why it it is so much cheaper? If so, does anybody know how they compare to NCL's Epic studio cabins? I've been on several cruises but never booked one year in advance. Should I jump on this price because the studio cabins will go fast? Thanks,Judy
