  1. Sailing on Oasis for first time in September. Am D+ where is Diamond Lounge? No plans to purchase Key. Any perks being D+ ? Thank you
  2. Welcome to Willdra's Outrageous Oasis OTS October 21-28 Cruise! This was our 29th cruise, but our first time cruising Royal Caribbean. Did we like it, love it, or loathe it? Welp, you have to endure my very long, rambling review to find out. (No refunds on time will be given). Willdra approves this message. None of the other initials joined us on this cruise. It was only W and I. Yep, just good ole Ike and Tina. Our adult offspring were busy working and making sure that they could pay their bills, and not return to the nest. We are ok with that. W and I also wanted to sample this one on our own, since we were "cruise line jumping". I still see your shadows in my room Can't take back the love that I gave you It's to the point where I love and I hate you And I cannot change you so I must replace you (oh) Easier said than done I thought you were the one Listening to my heart instead of my head You found another one, but I am the better one I won't let you forget me Lucid Dreams-Juice WRLD Just wanted to see if you were paying attention! We heard that song a billion and 12 times on this trip. Maybe it was an omen. Or just our inability to escape pop culture. Either way, it was our theme song this time around. This brings us to Travel Day (Or Travel-Yay!!) Our goal was to wake up early so that we would get to Cocoa Beach at a good time. We wanted to get our money’s worth out of the hotel. Cha-ching. We set our alarms for 4am. I woke up at 4am. I normally wake up before my alarm on travel day, then just get up so I can take my time getting ready before I wake W up. He never wakes up early. Slacker. When my alarm went off I was not ready to get up. Felt like I’d only slept for 13 minutes. I lay there in denial until I was almost in the deadly "now we are rushing zone". It was also my birthday, so W had my gifts all laid out for me when I woke up. I showered quickly and ripped into my pile. While I was loving everything, W wandered in and got ready, then he went down for coffee. I threw the last few things in my bags then sent a text to the bellhop (AKA W) letting him know that my bags were ready to go downstairs. Shortly after that, we hit the road. We were close to our goal of leaving by 5. There was not much traffic, but there were speed traps everywhere. I'm so glad I don’t have to worry about those. I just sit in my seat taking selfies and keeping W company. My phone was blowing up with “Happy Birthdays”, which also kept me occupied.
  3. We are on the August 8 sailing out of Civitaveccia. I have searched CC and google for answers to the following questions and have come up blank. We are usually Princess cruisers but are trying RCI for the first time. Thank you in advance for your responses! -On this particular route, do most passengers board in Barcelona? -Since we have no priority, what time should we arrive at the port? -Other than the buffett, is there a dining room open for lunch on the Civitaveccia embarkation day? -Will we be treated as “in transit” passengers on the Barcelona day, meaning do we use a different exit/entrance area than those embarking? Thank you again.
  4. We have not been on RCCL since 208 so not sure of the current set up. I was wondering how far in advance can we do dinner reservations for My Time Dining on the Oasis. I don't see anything in the planner yet. We aren't sailing until August 2020. We will have at least 21 people. I realize we will likely not be able to all sit together, but if we all have the same reservation time we should be able to work it out that we can be near each other. We did this on Celebrity Summit 2 years ago with 15. We spoke to the MaitreD upon boarding. Thank you in advance.
  5. Cruising on Oasis in December (cabin 7680 Oceanview Balcony.) Are there outlets available by the bed? Using CPAP & need to know if I will need to request an extension cord from Special Needs Dept. or not. Thank you in advance for any help.
  6. There's great pricing for Accessible balconies on the Oasis out of Bayonne in Sept 2020. I've been watching the price for a while and finally booked on June 9th for $2631. Since then, I have gotten four reductions and am now down to $1981.
  7. I'm thinking probably not but one could hope!
  8. I just switched my son's cabin from a deck 7 forward inside category 6V to 11902 which is a new cabin to be built where the library is on deck 11. On the new deck plans there are no codes. Does anyone know about size, adjoining, sofa etc?
  9. There seem to be some great suite deals popping up on Oasis class ships for GS (and some above too). If I see one, I'd like to jump on it quickly, so I'd like to ask some questions in advance (just in case). Which Oasis-class ship has the nicest GS . Perks, suite lounge, etc.? Is any deck preferred? Is Coastal Kitchen guaranteed? By this I mean, not like Jr. Suites where it is on an "as available" basis. Can I count on dining there without disappointment? Is it true that GS doesn't have to make show reservations, you can just show up? Hope you can help ....😍
  10. An online newspaper in the Bahamas has tweeted video of what seems to be a crane that has partially collapsed into the stern of Oasis in Freeport. (It seems that maybe it was there for a week-long wet dock?) It also seems she is listing slightly to starboard. Can't find any other details at the moment. https://twitter.com/Bahamaspress/status/1112772498427441152
  11. I have never been on Oasis and am looking for any info about Cabin 10290. Good location? Bed by bathroom/balcony? Obstructions? What furniture is on balcony? etc. TIA.
  12. Anyone else wish these ships did longer itineraries in the Caribbean? We tend to cruise in the winter and fly from New England. With that in mind, I am always looking for a longer itinerary to get the most days out of of the cold weather and in the warm sun. Unfortunately, every time I look I never find a 9 night or longer on Oasis or Allure, etc.. For this February we are booked on a 9 night on the Explorer. While I am very excited, I do wish I had the option of going on one of the larger ships since a seven day itinerary doesn’t give as much time to enjoy both the ship and the ports. Wonder why they don’t....
  13. After reading a thread here which showed a deck plan for the new Oasis amplification taking over the "sun deck" on 14 forward with cabins, I was hoping Royal would expand the Solarium on deck 15 out to include the new space which would essentially be the roofs of the new cabins installed on deck 14. Any speculation if that might be feasible? Is it just a matter of expanding the wind screen forward?
  14. Hey everyone! Really excited to be heading to Coco Cay in a few weeks on NOS. Does anyone know if floating beach mats are allowed in the Oasis Lagoon? Royal has a few press pictures of people lounging on mats but I can't seem to find any pictures of actual guests on mats in the lagoon nor can I find the answer to this anywhere! Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
  15. We're thinking of doing a family group trip with 10 people and because of the cost, we would have to drive to the port at Cape Liberty to sail on Anthem rather than flying to Florida to sail on Oasis. I emailed RCI and asked if Oasis would still be sailing out of Cape Liberty in 2021 and they said in November of 2020 Oasis is moving permanently to Florida. We really like the Oasis class ships because of the many activities and amenities available. Would we notice a huge difference between these two ships as far as size and available activities? Is there anything you prefer on Anthem as opposed to Oasis? Our group would have an age range of 3 years old up to 65 years old.
  16. Hey cruisers! Anyone know if the bed is by the door or balcony in this Oasis of the Seas cabin. Looking at an Eastern Caribbean cruise April 2020. Thanks! kate
  17. Booked a ocean view balcony on deck 9. 9306, 12 rooms from very back of ship. Good distance from the elevator. Looks like a low foot traffic area. But a few rooms away is Dazzles. Little concerned with the loud music. The rooms seem well insulated from sound though. Thoughts? Anyone been on deck 9, Harmony of the Seas or similar? We’re not picky, just want a balcony with an ocean view that’s not obstructed by anything, with a good view of the ocean. This will be our 2nd cruise, 1st was Oasis. Would like to try a smaller ship next time to compare.
  18. I went on the Oasis back in 2015 to the Eastern Caribbean with my wife. Want to go next February to the Western Caribbean. The price for the Oasis is much cheaper than the Harmony or Symphony. Symphony being the most expensive. Is the price difference worth it? Ships are similar but the others are newer. Thoughts? Thanks!
  19. Looking to narrow down some choices for our cruise next year. We're looking at the same itinerary but different dates on different ships Itinerary: 7 night Orlando/Perfect Day/Nassau out of New Jersey. 1) Oasis (will be amplified) - Sept or Oct 2020 2) Anthem - March 2020 We've cruised 3 times: 1) 2014 on Allure - loved it, but memory isn't completely clear 2) 2018 on Grandeur - loved it 3) 2019 on Independence - had a good time, but had some issues with the ship, some over crowding (which we learned to handle as the cruise went on) and layout issues. Wouldn't completely prevent us from doing a Freedom class again Things that appeal to us about Anthem - new class of ship for us - we want to try wonderland - skydiving sounds fun - seems like it's very different from other classes, and would be a fun to try something new Things that appeal to us about Oasis - newly renovated - huge ship, lots of space and things to do - want to try 150 Central Park (didn't manage to on our 2014 allure cruise) - new BBQ place might be interesting - would be interesting to try an Oasis class again now that we have more RCCL experience under our belt We would just like some thoughts to help us narrow down which ship we would want to take. We would have a great time on either. We're a couple in our 30's without kids and the port is in driving distance.
  20. Considering these out of NY area next summer. Which one is recommended?
  21. We love Oasis and the fact that she will be refurbished makes her even more appealing to us. However, we are wondering if the cabins (in particular the GS) will be refurbished also. Anyone know?
  22. I was wondering if anyone has been on the Oasis recently and can tell me if they have some sort of Happy Hour during emabrkation, sea days, or port days? Carnival usually has a 2 for 1 in the Red Frog Pub on Embarkation days. Thanks in advance!
  23. Good Morning, All! My family will be sailing on Oasis of the Seas 8/4, western Mediterranean (our first non Caribbean). Does anyone know who the concierge is onboard? We will be Diamond Plus on this cruise!!! Thanks... Jen
  24. We have already booked Oasis for May in a Central park interior room view. Got a great deal I believe also, very happy with our price. Anyway are kids, or 3 people allowed in these rooms? I know that sounds weird because we booked this room but only through our TA. When I did mock bookings from RCI's website it would not allow us to book either room. It kept saying choose a different cabin with no explanation. So what are the rules for these types of rules and how were we allowed to book one of these rooms? We are 2 adults and 1 child of 6 years old. Thanks, its just a curious question as we are booked and excited to sail on Oasis from NJ.
