  1. We're new to Royal Caribbean and we'll be on Oasis of the Seas next March. We have Diamond level membership due to reciprocal benefits from Celebrity. Is the Diamond Club and the Diamond Lounge the same thing? What is the location(s) and what is the benefit of using this area? Thanks!
  2. Hi Cruisers! We are sailing May 19, 2019 on the Oasis, out of Barcelona. I haven't seen any postings from people who were on the most recent sailing regarding any visible damage to the ship from the port accident. Has anyone posted a review from the May 3rd cruise? Just wondering if they were able to repair all of the damage and if all venues were open, as promised.
  3. Do you need to put a card in slot to turn on the lights in your cabin on the Oasis or does it have normal lights? Can you make reservations for things on your TV? Are their kiosks by the elevator which allows you to make show reservations like on Harmony?
  4. Does anyone know what the deal is with Oasis stateroom 11146. According to the map it should be a ocean view balcony. But it is classified as an inside room. Anyone ever very stayed in it or know the history of the room?
  5. I will try and answer any "incident" related questions if I can.
  6. An online newspaper in the Bahamas has tweeted video of what seems to be a crane that has partially collapsed into the stern of Oasis in Freeport. (It seems that maybe it was there for a week-long wet dock?) It also seems she is listing slightly to starboard. Can't find any other details at the moment. https://twitter.com/Bahamaspress/status/1112772498427441152
  7. Just got a really awesome deal on the star loft suite on Oasis for this June. It’ll be my husband, myself and our 16 & 17 year old sons. Our 17 year old will turn 18 on the cruise and will have just graduated high school. We live in Texas so normally we cruise out of Galveston so this will be our first time on an Oasis class ship. We have cruised in suites before but this will also be our first time with the Star class on Oasis. Any tips, advice, things we should know about would be really great. Oh my gosh, I’m so excited.
  8. We have sailed many of the Oasis Ships, typically 6D on decks 10 & 11 starboard. Contemplating an OAS sailing in November 2020. The price is great but only for an 8D on deck 6 forward or all the way aft on deck 6. Can anyone tell me if we will be blocked somewhat from the lifeboats on deck 5 ?? Hopefully we are not making a mistake going down the ladder. Sailing on SOS this Dec but the rates are crazy for the following year. We just can't justify the higher price of $750.00 One other question - some of the cabins being offered are adjoining. I seem to remember some on the boards saying you can hear noise & see light from the adjoining cabins. Thanks in advance for your feedback! Paula
  9. Hi All, We're looking to book the 6th September sailing of Oasis from New York. At present, it looks like the offer of free all inclusive drinks doesn't apply. Does anyone who checks prices regularly know whether there's a good chance that the offer will come on at some point. We seem to have plenty time to book! Cheers Davy !!!
  10. Hello I was wondering if there is someone on Oasis at the moment who could have a look at the Daily Compass for Palma, Majorca? And tell me what the everyone back on board time is? Port time is 8 - 4pm
  11. When will the Oasis be back in commission? The next sailing that shows up on Royal isn't until April. Have all the cruises been cancelled up until then?
  12. I've only cruised in the summer months (June-July). Oasis of Seas was pretty fun and the atmosphere was great when we sailed. We did all the events at night and people were enjoying themselves having fun. How is the atmosphere in September for Oasis class (allure specifically 8th september)? Is it a much older audience like 65+? My wife and I were 30 when we last sailed Oasis of Seas, and we had our daughter with us. I'm asking for a friend who is in his 30s that wants to go on his first cruise with his girlfriend. He likes a good atmosphere and energy.
  13. Friend of mine, whose April transatlantic was cancelled, wanted to book the "return" one, but the last Oasis cruise in the Med is September 15th, and the next one is November 24th, 2019. Is Oasis returning home "empty" after the dry dock?
  14. Have previously done four Caribbean/ Middle East RC cruises, but have sailed with other lines more recently. ( Not in Med.) Sailing with family on Oasis this summer, some who have never done RC. Please help to answer these questions. Hopefully Oasis will be 'fixed' before we sail..at least we haven't been told anything different yet. Are the sockets USA or European? Kettles in mini suites? Booking table for large groups on ATD? Service Charge? Booking climbing wall? Boarding in Barcelona? Flights...we booked with RC's £1 offer and find we are flying Easyjet..haven't done this before. Strange to have no control over booking..not sure we'd do this again. Travel agent says we can't book actual seats or extra leg room till 10 days before... Two very big/ tall men need extra legroom but seems we can't book till 10 days before when seating detail issued to RC..is Travel agent wrong about this? Travel agent says 20kg hold and 10kg hand luggage. . Easyjet's website says 23kg and hand luggage unlimited weight, determined by size..anyone know? RC transfer from airport to ship in Barcelona? Children's club (age 8) Arcade use for 8 year old...set daily limit ? How formal on Med cruises? Dress shorts at Restaurant for Dinner for men? Or just in buffet? Anything else we need to know about travelling with RC as a family on. Med. cruise.?? Many thanks.
  15. I am booked on the Symphony 3-day over Memorial Day for this year (May 25-28th). I know other Oasis class ships have done short cruises like this in the past. Typically, how did they handle shows? I know 3-day isn't enough for all of them. I was hoping to at least catch the AquaTheater show and Ice Show. Do they pre-schedule them like the 7-day cruises or do they just set it up first come first served on board? We've sailed on Oasis class ships many times in the past, so I am specifically interested in how short cruises are handled since we haven't done one of those. I am hoping to be able to pre-book! Thanks!
  16. Hi all, I have never sailed RCI before and last night booked the last remaining ocean view cabin on Oasis of the seas 3 night med cruise in August. I have been watching the prices (oh my, do they fluctuate daily!) and when I saw an ocean view at £350 cheaper than the last time I had looked I just booked it. As it was the last one I can appreciate that is unlikely to be in a favourable position. It's on deck 7 over the fitness suite. Does anyone have any experience of these forward cabins? I am used to midship balconies on Carnival! Should I try to upgrade to a balcony closer to the sailing? At present there are loads of balconies left but were starting from just under £900 so thought I would save my money for what is only 3 days!
  17. Hello Everyone! We are booked on the July 7, 2019 Oasis of the Seas Western Mediterranean sailing, and I just looked today and realized the itinerary now says Florence/Pisa (La Spezia), Italy. When I booked the cruise, I am almost certain the itinerary stated we docked in Livorno Cruise Port. Can anyone confirm that RCCL's Oasis of the Seas is now docking in La Spezia for Mediterranean cruises? Thank you!
  18. Hi all. I’m seeing Balcony Guarantee rooms at a nice discount for a 2020 cruise on Harmony. I’m assuming they could put us in any balcony (Central Park, Boardwalk, Oceanview), correct? I’ve also read on here that once a guarantee room is assigned, if a different room is available you can switch rooms at that point. My question is whether you can switch to ANY balcony that is available, or would it have to be the same type of balcony (Central Park to Central Park, Boardwalk to Boardwalk, etc.) I’d love to hear experiences from folks who have booked a Balcony Guarantee on an Oasis class ships-thanks!
  19. Just getting another thread started ... This article brought to my attention... Melody of the Seas https://www.schiffe-und-kreuzfahrten.de/kreuzfahrtschiffe/melody-of-the-seas/
  20. lI would love your help! We have a cruise scheduled on the Oasis. It will be two adults and two kids (ages 10 and 13), plus grandparents (they are booking themselves). I am looking at various options but found that it was around the same price to book two rooms of two versus a room of 4. We're late in the game so availability is low. There is only one connecting room left, but supposedly it's not in an idea location, so I'd love info from anyone who has stayed in this room, as well as your opinions of the other rooms and what you would pick given the options. Price is not a huge factor, but I'll put it to give an idea. 1) Connecting rooms- 14323 and 14325 (was told this is obstructed view) $8400 2) Rooms across from each other 10956 and 10957- one balcony and one central park. $8500 3) Rooms next to each other balcony 7286 and 7288 $7900 4)Room 12200 large ocean balcony 4 people in one room $7500
  21. Just wanted to let people know: I just found a military discount on the Oasis of the Seas Holiday cruise , December 22, 2019. I know how elusive this discount is. I saved $250. Also, if you need a handicap accessible cabin, there are 2 junior suites which can hold 3 people available, as well as some balconies. I don’t know if there are any 2 person rooms available, because I did’t need that category. ( and I don’t book handicap accessible, they just showed up in my search). I hope this will help someone.
  22. What are your opinions on adding Ultimate Abyss to Oasis and Allure during their next dry docks? I've read that Royal Caribbean wants consistency across the Oasis class, but also acknowledges each ship will have some uniqueness. I'm sure Royal Caribbean has already decided, but it's fun to speculate. Personally, I think that the backs of Oasis and Allure are beautiful as they are now. Pictures taken from boardwalk balconies facing aft look majestic. They highlight how large the ship really is. Pictures of the Harmony and Symphony look almost comical in comparison. The purple color of the slide feels wrong. The attraction doesn't seem to fit the boardwalk theme. To me, it looks like a purple sea monster with giant tentacles is attacking the boardwalk. Perhaps that's the intent. A SkyPad would almost fit the Boardwalk theme better, but I'm aware of the recent serious injury and closures, so won't go there! For those who have tried Ultimate Abyss, how much fun is it? Is it worth retrofitting it to the Oasis and Allure? Given that Oasis and Allure will likely get waterslides at the next dry dock, should they get this too?
  23. Does anyone know if there are electrical outlets anywhere else in the room aside from the three on the desk?
  24. Very noob cruiser here, only sailed Anthem twice. I booked on Oasis for next summer when she is in Bayonne. It will be myself, 10 year old DS and my mother (uses a walker). DS wanted the 14th floor and we got an aft room not far from the rear elevators, Boardwalk balcony. IIRC it's 14701. I got the 2 soda packages and $175 OBC as well as discounted pricing on my son and mom's fares. Can a TA do better? Possible to switch to OV balcony without a huge cost increase? Is Deck 14 okay on aft? We don't need absolute quiet but reasonable is ok! I'm the light sleeper so deck chairs being pulled around in early am would be awful. We've been lucky enough to twice get great decks/rooms on Anthem. I would love a similar experience on my first Oasis sailing. Thanks!
  25. I just got back from seeing Hairspray on Symphony. Our roll call which started long before the show was announced for Symphony. I never have seen this show and didn't know anything about it. On boarding I heard the CD talk about it being an Enhanced version. As I watched I was impressed with some of the innovative technical set improvements over what I save seen on other cruises. I wonder if this was the only change? That said, I liked the show, the set helped. I thought the singing and acting were good. I'm glad I saw it.
