  1. Hello, seems like we’re always the last to know, by the time we book, the prices has gone up. We would like to go on inaugural sailing for Oasis no. 5, visiting Barcelona and the rest of Europe. Anybody knows please. Thank you,,
  2. Who else is impatiently awaiting the first reviews and videos of the post refurb Oasis?!! We’ve been on the other sisters, and will be doing Oasis in Feb. I can’t wait to see tours of the ship, once it has been updated 🙂
  3. Occasionally, Anthem of the Seas will do a Canada / New England itinerary and visit Boston. When the Oasis of the Seas does a similar itinerary, it skips Boston. The Anthem has a draft of 29 feet. Oasis has a draft of 31 feet. Queen Mary 2 has a draft of 34 feet and visits Boston. Per this article, the harbor depth should be sufficient. So my questions are: Can the harbor and cruise port accomodate an Oasis class ship? Why do you think an Oasis class ship will not home port / visit Boston for at least during the months of May - September?
  4. For all you pros out there that can figure out the were the bed is located. These two cabins I'm having an issue with. 8401 is in a set of 3 cabins and 7501 is a cabin all by itself. So is the bed on the back wall on those 2 cabins. The rule of "right is always right" does not work with these 2 cabins. Please help.
  5. I’m booked on the Oasis, cruise date is April 26, 2020. The ship is scheduled for dry dock, which is one of the reasons I booked this ship. I’m now wondering if Hurricane Dorian has affected the scheduled dry dock. Does anyone out there have the answer?
  6. Hello all, Am getting excited now, 1st time back with RCI since 2013 and two with Celebrity in the meantime. Have sailed Splendour (twice) our 1st and no longer in the fleet, Vision, Navigator, Adventure, Voyager and our favs Brilliance and Serenade. Now going on one of the big ladies Oasis after her 165 million drydock on 8th Dec. Excited to see the changes but can’t compare as haven’t sailed her before. A little disappointed no Wonderland and champagne bar going to be replaced by bionic bar and rooms may or not be redone, but going with an open mind and heart. A few question to all my helpful cc’ers ( have been taking notes on all the posts so I don’t forget). Got a deal on the 3 night package so it will be Chops, 150 and Giovanni’s I think ( love sushi but don’t think it is a good deal..). I understand that the Celeb chef is mo longer linked to 150, have searched for new menus and reviews but no hit. Would appreciate if someone could share experiences and menu and how it compares from last year. Lowly Emerald and will be one point away from Diamond after this cruise. I seem to recall a Captains champagne reception 1st formal night and two parties one for repeat cruiser and one for Emerald, Platinum etc. Does that still happen? On last day is there still a service breakfast menu in the MDR and does the drink package cover a final mimosa, they brought this out on our Dec cruise with Celebrity a nice little farewell but could probably do without if they cut the beverage package off. When is it terminated do you know ? We have a late flight back to Europe from Miami eve of 15th think 10 pm or thereabouts. Booked the RCI xfer 14 euros, plan is to leave luggage at the airport and head in to Miami and leave again at 5/6ish. I don’t want it to be a v v long day, do you know when the bus shuttles go ? Would I be better trying to get a late disembarkation (and how can I assure this) and taxi/Uber to airport ? Reading the revised plans it seems like new staterooms on deck 14 I think .. Does this mean that the tubs over the edge will be gone and will there be some place on that deck for non-suite guests to enjoy a sea view. Our itinerary has been revised due to propulsion problems with Allure, same ports just different days and times. Looking at San Juan, the excursion says 10am, but we don’t get there till 1. I had a webchat with RCI but not much help, should we just book and assume the time will be updated to reflect docking or just wait??? Tks in advance and any other hints and tips most appreciated
  7. Hope they do not destroy South Pacific with one of those so called " Great Day For A Triple Pay Artificial Cabana " 🤮 https://cruisepassenger.com.au/royal-caribbean-says-worlds-largest-ship-could-be-on-its-way-to-australia-and-brisbanes-ready/
  8. Royal has changed the deck plans on Oasis. What was to be all cabins in the old D lounge on decks 11 and 12 has now been changed to now being a card room on both decks where the 3 center cabins were initially shown. There was a lot of speculation about those 3 center cabins as they appeared much larger than a regular inside. Too bad as I had a pair of those larger inside cabins booked for next Christmas....time to look for a different location.
  9. We used a cruise credit that we had to go towards our fare we received from an RCL Australian cruise to pay for the cancelled Oasis Cruise. We were promised a full refund (we did receive that our credits back and the cash we paid for the cruise) and a FREE CRUISE. But what we since found out is that RCL only is paying the full amount to people who paid their full fare. We got a Credit in the amount that we paid in cash. There is the rub. Are Cruise credits used as cash? and If they are not, why would we accept them as payment for cash? If RCL is going to discount a cruise in the amount of the Cruise credit, then the credits are in lieu of cash right? Not in RCL's world. We got stiffed as loyal cruisers and long time customers because we used credits instead of cash. All of the cash customers got full value for their tickets.. We should too. If we had used cash we would be whole as RCL promised (amount paid plus new cruise). Currently we have credits + cash paid and partial cruise credit leaving us less compensated than if we were a cash customer.. I have been round and round with RCL staff and gotten nowhere. My Travel Agent cannot get them to budge.. So be VERY WARY OF ACCEPTING CRUISE CREDITS. They are not as good as green money and will put you at a disadvantage when dealing with RCL. Demand CASH refunds so you can make sure that you are adequately compensated for your losses.
  10. I just opted out of my cruise on Symphony of the Seas due to the hurricane. I want to use my future cruise credit for another cruise and it is not enough for another Oasis class ship cruise. Would love your thoughts on what your favorite ship and itinerary is from Miami, Ft Lauderdale or Port Canaversl. I feel the need to have a cruise to plan😊
  11. I'm already booked on Oasis 12/1/19 sailing and was checking on a cabin as a single for my sister to join us. Came upon a guarantee balcony for one passenger for $907 all in. This is for Maryland resident, senior, & she is Diamond. We immediately went to Next Cruise desk and she booked it (on the ill-fated Grandeur today). When mock booking If you change cabin types etc., pricing gets wonky and it charges double. Surely that $907 price is a glitch.
  12. Wow I just saw RCI ordered a 6th Oasis class ship. I have no idea where these giant are going to all be ported or where they will sail but I'm excited. Here to hoping it will be here in NJ. I will leave a link but they don't allow links here right? Well here goes a try, either way just Google it, comes up quickly. https://www.cruiseindustrynews.com/cruise-news/20393-royal-caribbean-orders-sixth-oasis-class-vessel.html
  13. Is this restaurant only by set price or can you walk in (as long as availability and order a la carte? If no a la carte was it worth $22/adult? what about kids? What age is considered a kid? If a kid is there a kid menu to order from? On Norwegian we dined but our daughter could order for free form the kids menu which suited her fine as she is quite picky. Was it worth $22pp if you have been?
  14. This will be our first time on the Oasis what specialty restaurant would you recommend we ask to eat in for the BOGO? Are all the specialty restaurants included in this offer?
  15. When I sailed on these in 2015, they were Royal Family Suites. Now they are 2 bedroom grand suites. We had both for 6 people and it was truly amazing. There is no price you can put on having a hot tub on your balcony. Never mind two. I receive so many emails asking for pictures, that it is just easier to post them here. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help.
  16. Considering upgrading to a crown loft suite. Anyone ever stay in one, is one better than another. There are several of them available, I can have my pick. I am thinking #1754. I love an aft cabin but all of the aft suites face the sports deck. TIA
  17. Hello! Is it possible to know in which days have been the theme nights aboard Oasis of the Seas since it arrived to Mediterranean? Im traveling with a big group and would like to organize some theme nights for the group but would like to coordinate with the ship theme nights. Right now I have a different schedulle from diferent cruise compasses: Mon: formal Tues: White OR Tropical/White Wed: Tropical + 70's Thu: Latin Fri: Formal Sat: none Thank you :)
  18. Will Oasis's Solarium include the "fishbowl" type pool found on Symphony of the Seas? Will Oasis's Solarium extend above the bridge? Thanks in advance!
  19. Are these a thing? I only see week passes on the Cruise Planner website. I'm sailing in two weeks, and plan on staying on board on the Rome day as I think a lot of people will get off to see the City. So this could in theory be a good day to do these if they exist? Perhaps only available on board?
  20. Currently for an Oasis cruise in March 2021 we have a 2 BR Grand Suite booked for our trip traveling with our kids, who will be 16 and 12 (turning 13 on the cruise). We’re trying to decide whether to switch to a Crown Loft. As far as I can tell, the rooms stack up like this: 2 BR GS: Full bedroom for the kids, leaves the living room free to use as a sitting room. Larger balcony. But it’s on deck 9, so potentially not as advantageous an area of the ship, and I’ve heard that the fits and finishes in the room aren’t quite as “plush”. Crown Loft: Spectacular room, still has 2 bathrooms, very close to Coastal Kitchen and the Suite Lounge. It also “feels” more convenient to the pool deck. But the kids would be sleeping in the living room. We usually ask for a rollaway bed for our younger one so they don’t have to share a bed, so between that and the foldout couch it will make it difficult to use the downstairs as a sitting room. Price is fairly similar within our margin of comfort, so that isn’t our deciding factor. Any advice from those who’ve been in these room categories?
  21. We have MTD for our Oasis Cruise in December of 2020. Reservations are open, however 5:30, 6:00 & 8:00 are not available for any day to book. Does anyone know if they will become available later? Or why those times are blocked out for each day?
  22. As much as I love the larger ships, I am concerned that an Oasis class ship will be all the more crowded and hectic getting on and off the ship at European ports. Anyone have an opinion on which class of ship may be best for a European cruise? Thanks all!
  23. Hi. I want to do a solo cruise as a writing retreat for myself, so mainly I'll be hanging out writing in the quieter spaces (although I do like being outdoors in the shade). I've found 2 cruises to the Caribbean (the ports for both are fine) and would like your opinions about which one you would choose. One is on the newly redone Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas. I've been on the Oasis once before with my son and loved it. I can afford a Central Park window view and I like having the natural light. It's a 7-day cruise at the end of January. The other is on the Norwegian Bliss for 12 days the beginning of December. I've only been on a short Norwegian Sky booze cruise with my sisters and didn't much like Norwegian, but I'm assuming this larger, newer ship would be a different experience. I can only afford an interior room (no virtual window - the solo studio cabin was way more than interior). Why I'm even considering it over the Oasis is because the observation lounge looks fabulous and also it leaves from NYC, which means I don't have to pay for airfare, making this 12-day cruise the same price as the Oasis' 7-day cruise out of Miami. But is 12 days in an inside cabin a bad idea? I've been in an inside cabin once before on a Disney ship, but that was only a 3 night cruise. And is Oasis that much better where I should just take that cruise? I don't drink alcohol and I may see a show or two, but basically I just want a ship with a nice atmosphere and good complimentary food (I won't pay extra for specialty dining). I can't afford any different room type. Which cruise would you choose and why? Thanks!!
  24. I recently was on the Oasis of the Seas 7 night Eastern Caribbean Holiday cruise from Dec 30th 2018 to Jan 6th 2019. As I've had trouble in the past finding details about the Holiday cruise, I saved all the literature we got on the cruise, such as the cruise compasses and adventure ocean daily planners and scanned it in as PDFs, which are attached below. I’ve included some of the additional pages, such as the New Year’s Eve special insert, the luggage valet, departure info, excursion catalog, and port shopping guides. oasis of the seas port shopping and excursions 190115.pdf oasis of the seas adventure ocean daily planner 190115.pdf oasis of the seas cruise compasses 190115.pdf
  25. I just completed my Set Sail pass and it shows that my Muster Station is F01. Does anyone know where F01 is on Oasis? Just curious
