We did a few tours via MSC because we had children with us and safety/convenience was number 1 priority for us.

GENOA

We did Portofino boat tour from Genoa - very scenic but also very short time in Portofino. Definitely worth seeing Portofino. Although its a long ride on a boat there and back its gorgeous to see Genoa and surrounding areas from the sea. I would recommend this if you really want to see Portofino.

MESSINA

We did Taormina and beach tour. Taromina is beautiful and worth a visit. The "beach club" however was very underwhelming as the wifi was basically non existent and the best beach chairs were "reserved" and staff were rude - (id recommend the transfer to taromina and back) maybe after a few weeks in Greece at some stunning beaches we found it quite average - nice but missable.

BARCELONA

my kids and husband did the CAMP NU tour they loved it. Bus stopped for a photo opportunity at the top of the city. The only downside being they ran out of time and rushed through the gift shop. I have done this tour on my own and loved it, via hop on hop off tours in the past. We were travelling with small kids this time and wanted the comfort of one bus/direct etc cost was relatively similar to DIY

Make sure you book in advance they do get booked out!
