Since the highest casino certificates are for a balcony, to get in a suite, it would also be an upgrade.

Short answer, if you book and pay for a suite through CR, you will get double points.

Are you concerned because you got a free suite? If so, congratulations to you. I have never been able to pull that off!

No, I have never gotten a free suite, so your point is well taken there. However, I have booked many a suite using casino rates, casino discounts or casino certificates.

I guess I am just looking for someone at C&A to say clearly that any suite booking where a casino discount, casino rate or casino certificate has been applied will receive the double points. Perhaps I'm asking for too much.

Same here - I'm looking for them to say casino rates or crown and anchor rates (high level solo) paid for suites - which have certificates cash value or casino discounts applied will get the double points.

High level solo - don't you mean triple points for suites.

Actually we booked a free junior for November that was part of a mailing. Short three nighter for port fees and grats. If I don’t get points for a free cruise so be it.

My understanding is now we go back to old rules, which say if you are upgraded for free or pay a minimal amount to upgrade, no double points. One time I upgraded to a JS for $10 pp (pretty nominal in my book) and we got the double points, so you never know. Here's hoping you have a great cruise and get double points!

With a casino cert for balcony in hand. What is usual casino rate to get a suite ? 7 day sailing.

Really does depend on ship and sailing. We used our balcony certificate and upgraded to a Crown Loft Suite, Sky class on the Allure for a total of $1935. Expensive but worth it to me for 24 hour access to Coastal Kitchen, Suite sun deck, Zoom, etc. nice birthday present to myself.

Just wanted to post a pleasant resolution!! I sailed on the Freedom on April 8. I had purchased internet package pre cruise during one of the sales. From April 1 I kept calling Club Royale to see if I was getting the free internet. Finally I got an agent that told me I did qualify for Signature and the host onboard would have the info. Of course the host knew nothing!! After reading either on here or on Facebook that someone on the next sailing did get the benefits, I called Club Royale to complain. The response was:

I have contacted our post cruise department and my supervisory department about your internet package from Freedom of the Seas, 04/08/18. No internet packages were charged to your onboard spending account. My supervisory department did okay a refund, but nothing was ever charged. They must have corrected the issue onboard. If you have any questions about what was charged to your account, you can call our Post Cruise Department at 1-800-256-6649.

Today I called that Post Cruise Department and I told them I purchased it on the cruise planner. After about 15 minutes on hold, the agent came back on and told me they were crediting my card!!!

I called Club Royale to ask about the new program as I sail next week. I spoke with Karen. Though I believe I will be Prime, she said she could not confirm that as they didn't have the information and comps are at the discretion of the casino host. Though it would be available on the ship. She said information email will be sent in May. She was not very helpful.

I thought of another question so I called back. I spoke with a very nice man named David. He was able to tell me my level and points on my last cruise, that I would get the sticker, free drinks, internet discount. Though he did say he only has access to the last cruise.

A note about points. The total be gave me was the total that I had on night 6 which was about 5000 points and the amount my certificate was based on. By night 7, I had 2000 more points. So it is a good idea to somehow record or confirm with the host prior to leaving the ship what your actual points are because my play on Friday was not in the total they had. In my case it is not going to make a difference in the big picture because I can only get a way once or twice a year. But for those that cruise frequently, this could be significant.

Unfortunately, it often is about who you get on the phone when you call. I always follow the rule, “if you don’t get the answer you want when you call, hang up and call again”.

I have made the same observation about making sure you reaffirm your final point count at the very end of your cruise as the certificates never fully reflect your final points count.

Did they upgrade your certificate when you called the second time and they realized your certificate was based on a preliminary number ?

No I didn't. I had already used the offer.

Does anyone have any experience with combining the D+ internet benefit with the Prime casino discount?

Yes, Gayle - I just did it yesterday. I have a cruise on Anthem on hold for Feb. 2020. It was too far in the future to get a casino rate, but I did secure a very pathetic casino discount. According to the agent, they can only offer me a 5% casino discount this far in advance. Since this is for a Star Class cabin, I am sure that the rate on this room will be so high by the time I can secure a casino rate that it won't be worth it by then. So this is likely all I will see.

I received the C&A D+ discount ($250), BOGO50 ($3310), whatever a BLST savings is ($100) and 5% off the net price after all other discounts were taken ($494). Overall, this is a 31% discount. A far cry from the 55 - 60 % discounts I used to get with CR.

If I book this cruise, it will be the first time I have booked a suite with a NRD. I am not happy about it but if I want to cruise in a suite, this is the only choice I have. Feb. 2020 is a long way away. I will decide this weekend.

Thanks for all the details, I love to see/hear what other are paying for cruises, discounts etc, just to get an idea if I got a good deal etc! I think Gayle was simply referring to combing the "Diamond + internet discount" with the "Casino Royale internet discount"

We are onboard Freedom now. Hubby had a letter in his stateroom saying he was prime. I am a lowly choice. Internet discount is 30% off a package. Our plan is to use our 2 free diamond days then use the prime discount if we decide we need more.

Very upset with my call today to CR :( As I mention above I been on Freedom B2B. 1st leg--- 27K points and 2nd leg 14K points. Called CR and ask to check for me sailing 7 days on Allure April 2019 based of my play. Answer: We ONLY can count on your last cruise play and give you balcony if you want JS then you need to pay $1,500 more. CR representative said that she cannot even see my 1st leg play points (don/t know if its true or not).

Also what I didnt like that she asked me several times to use my certificates --- but I completely booked for 2018.
