Received my Golf invite there is no cost for me too, last year they wanted me to pay $250 to play in the Golf event. You know me, I would jump on Anthem in a heartbeat ;) ,going again next Sunday---won't know until April if we're able to do any May sailings. I just spoke to Dawn and Andy will definitely be on board :D:cool:

Don't worry about your handicap, mine is so bad and the team we previously played with wanted to team up with us again----lol, we had a lot of fun. If we do go on that sailing, I'll probably not play Golf this time.

I was told Anthem is getting new slots too but they could not tell me the ETA.

Or, taking away the machines they are not making any money on because they are not being played enough to make the casino any money.

Nothing yet, I spoke with them yesterday and they said sometime in March we should received an email.

I received the offer, I'm sure not as good as yours :) my offer only has a listing of 5 cruises that are only 3 or 4 night sailings or a dollar amount towards a cruise of my choice.. Hope to see you in the near future :D

Casino RoyaleSM invites you to win big in the new year with an exclusive

selection of action-packed itineraries and a complimentary stateroom

on the house.

There's also a Baseball offer going out to CR members, if you qualify for invites.

Interesting... what’s the details of the baseball offer?

Just got off Adventure a few days ago. I got a certificate but they also wiped all my onboard spending including my gratuity charges. I can’t recall them doing that in the last few years.

Now that is different. Do you know how many points you earned on the cruise???

Based on the points you earn at slots (not sure how it is calculated for table play) you can either use points for more slot play or have the points applied to dollars off your sea pass. And whatever you decide does not diminish the value of the certificate you may receive in the Casino.

Our recent cruise on the Independence was the first time in 6 cruises we did not receive a certificate at the end. I don't understand it, and as others have mentioned there seems to be no one that can explain how things work. Didn't help that we had the worst casino host ever.....he literally did not say a single word to us when we went to get our stickers on our cards.

I only play at the tables. They used to give me money for play but I haven’t received that in a few years.

I try to make sure I talk to the host before the last night so I can verify my points. The point system is usually posted at the desk so you can see what you qualify for with your certificate. 4800 for balcony?? I’m thinking. I was on a 5 day cruise and only qualified for an ocean view this time. The cruises in the cert were mostly for 4 and 5 day cruises and on older ships. I didn’t find one I wanted to use it for. We usually only do 7 or more day cruises since we drive from Illinois.

This time we did the 5 day navigator and a 7 day Carnival cruise. Five days is hard to get as many points unless you just live in the casino. That being said, I had way more points on the Carnival cruise and the offer was pitiful. Not even a free inside. At least with Royal I knew what I would qualify for. I guess that is all changing.

I don’t ask about my points cause I learned along time ago that chasing points was a losing battle. I play what I’m going to play. Trying to chase points is a losers game. It is unlikely that the point benefit will out weigh your loses getting there. Play to have fun not for manipulated benefits. Remember those benefits exist to enhance their profits not yours.

Just to clarify. Not chasing points. I want to make sure the host knows who I am and that I am aware of my points. I can see them on the machine as I play. If I am close to earning a balcony cabin, I guess I would “chase” those few points. I play because I like to play and any benefits received are a plus for me. I have had several nice cruises in balconies with those points, and I would have played anyway.

I am the same way.

My wife and I have decided that we enjoy making cruises our vacation. I take what I am willing to lose and no more. While I can’t say that I have walked away with the ships money the free cruises that we have gotten are our next trip that we would have been paying for and what I have lost is less than what the cruise fare would be. So in effect my nightly entertainment is free as we don’t pay for our next cruise.

Ditto lol. Mum and I gamble what we can afford and have walked away in profit a few times but the other losses have been offset by the cruise certs we recieved. We see it as a fun way to save for our next cruise 😉

I agree. While chasing points for the sake of it is a losing proposition, verifying that you are receiving the points you have earned just makes good sense.

On our last cruise (Harmony) they had given out our certificates based on points earned through about day 5. By the last day we had actually earned enough points to qualify for the next level certificate and TRUST me, they were not going to go back and redo our certificates unless we MADE them do it - which we did.

So checking points has way more to do with keeping them honest than it does with chasing points. ...and who knows how many points they would have "reported" for that cruise. Would they have used the original figure upon which the original certificates was based or would they have reported the true final figure ? I'm guessing the former. Since points will be cumulative in this new program I think verifying points will be more and more important.

With hosts preparing the certificates before end of casino play time someone could be given a certificate that does not include full last day of play. So if you have been given a certificate well before casino closing time...the choice is to go to the host and ask them to re check the points/play or not to play after you have a certificate in hand...

Can someone explain if you play Blackjack how are they keeping the points? How would we know an accurate count?

Thought I'd chime in....

Just off a 9 night on the Navigator, I earned 6300 points on my card, received my free Balcony stateroom certificate, and also earned about $150 in free play. Then used wife's card in the slots and earned her a certificate also.

We used the dollars off value ($1000 for me and $300 for her) by simply calling Casino Royale and applied it to an existing booking on our Med cruise upcoming Oct 2018 on the Jewel. This type of play is typical for me, and sometimes I even earn more points (play more).

I'm also Canadian and also have NEVER received an "event" or "free cruise" offer from Casino Royale, either by email or snail mail. I suspect, but am not certain, that my play warrants an "offer" but have never actually received one. Just to get an idea, this past cruise I had about a 9k loss.

Previous to my navigator cruise, I did book the jewel cruise for about 60% of the lowest price that I saw on the website. I called Casino Royale to get that price. That being said, I called today to get a price on a summer of 2019 cruise on the harmony and they best they can do is 5% off the website price.

.....inconsistency at it's finest....

The whole time I was on the phone with CR and after about a 15 min wait they confirmed that regardless of play, "Event offers" are only sent out to people who have a US address....

There ya go, mystery solved/confirmed!

Cheers...

Did they let you apply your certificate to your existing cruise without changing to current pricing? They wouldn’t let me the other day but I feel 95% sure I’ve done it in the past. Thinking I might call and try again.

Yes they let me apply BOTH certificates without repricing....hmmm, now that I think about it maybe they did reprice (behind the scenes) and it was the same so they just further discounted to the tune of an additional $1300 total.

Given my past experience, I would call back, the only thing that seems to be consistent is the inconsistency ;)

Really looking forward to the new tiered system, and the free internet.

Just curious and I apologize if this is answered earlier in the post. What is the calculation or formula that determines how many points you earn? Different for slots vs tables? Thanks.

Slot machines earn 1 point per $5 wagered. Video poker machines earn 1 point per $10 wagered.

Table games are mystery. The points are based on a combination of game type, average bet size, and time played. Whether you're winning or losing may also be a factor.
