Dear friends,

I've send you a contact/friendship requests, so we can swap our contacts and trade cards.

I'm in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro), publish my own postcards (I did publish the QE2, QM2, Costa Victoria, Costa Favolosa, MSC Armonia, MSC Preziosa, MSC Meraviglia, MSC Magnifica, Celebrity Infinity, Pullmantur R5 Blue Dream, Pullmantur Sovereign, Seabourn Quest, Silver Muse, Funchal and MS Kayamã river cruise) and have a friend who publish cruise ships, ferries and liners cards, too!

Best regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Would you believe, I am only now (a year later) seeing this post of yours.

I just had a quick look thru your impressive collection of cards on Photobucket.

Somewhere at Photobucket, I also have photos of cards posted...

but I haven't visited or used Photobucket for years now (suspect I'm getting old! lol)

Go look for user Aplmac

In the long run now

I'm collecting only Carnival cruise cards.

It's just too much to try to collect everything!

Anyone willing to send me any Carnival cards, ancient & modern

please email me at dh-jennie (at) outlook dot com

My Carnival collection drops jaws on board.

I take it with me on cruises, to show crew: they're impressed

That's how it works to get me even more.

I've discovered that crew cards are particularly diverse and interesting!

You should see what I have now............

Hi Aplmac,

My collection just doubled recently but I am looking for more. Would you sell any of your doubles?

You have my personal email in the previous post. Just let me know 😉

Regards

Sergiu

.

Quite honestly

I'd let you have all my remaining non-Carnival cards.

Hope you can one day stop thru at Barbados somehow

and we can get together.

Mailing them to you could cost you quite a bit.

.

It's difficult to give you a quote, because it depends on the weight involved.

I agree that Registered Mail would be best,

but that would mean sending the package at Letter Rate!

Registration fee is (I believe) another US$5 on top of the Postage cost.

probably best to take the cards out of their plastic sleeves and stack them

into little 'bricks' and Mail them that way.

I should think the whole thing might total to somewhere between US$ 10-20 ?

but that is just an educated guesstimate.

I have all of mine and the kids, including the paper ones. They came in handy when I needed to establish the fact that 1 of them really should be elite now. They somehow had dropped a few of his cruises and were only listing him as a platinum on princess. But I sent him a copy of every card that he had and they corrected his status to Princess Elite which was helpful as it got him that extra $25 OBC

I'm curious - why have you collected so many?

I personally only like to keep my own.

Hi , I have started to collect phonecards 26 years ago. I am working on cruise ships for 15 years now and these cards are bringing back memories plus some of them are really beautifull 😁 hope this answers your question 👍

Those are beautiful cards, thank you for sharing the photos of them. I'm still looking for an SS NORWAY card.

I will look through some things at my grandmother's house and see if I can find one for you. I know you sailed on the Norway a couple of times.

Hello!!!   I came across your post about collecting cruise cabin cards and thought I'd jump in. As you had mentioned I have only collected my own, and wondered what your criteria was. Do you collect any or are you looking for specifics? I have collected mine since 2006 but was wondering when they began using them?  I remember having a steel key on the SS Norway in 93 but can't remember if I had cards for some of my pre 2006 cruises. 3 of them would have been Carnival. Any help would be great. Glad I saw your post...

I've been writing to ask about cruise-cards, here on the Memorabilia section

and at other CC Message Board locations but it seems no one collects cruise cards

beyond saving their own 'Sail & Sign' cards as a memento, only to be forgotten in a drawer somewhere!

I've recently discovered it's not that difficult to ask around among friends and acquaintances

-even in my small island community- to receive cards that turn out to be quite interesting.

Now that I have a few different ones (Carnival mostly)

I'm seeing all sorts of major and minor design changes that make a collection worthwhile.

As a collector, you already know that variation is the basis for all collections.

For what it's worth

here are a few cards I've recently acquired..

After returning from a memorable cruise, most people don't throw out their cruise cards, I'm sure..

they serve as an integral part of your holiday memories.

They get stuck away somewhere, not seeing the light of day for years!

Anyone who's been saving their old cruise cards 'for a reason, but not quite sure just what'

might consider donating them to a collector like me? Please? 😕

Are there any other cruise-card collectors? -I'd love to know!

Please have a dig around to see what you can find.

Oh by the way...I live on the Caribbean island of Barbados

and this is one of my local beaches.

Thought you might like to see.

These days I'm collecting Carnival Cruise cards only.

I used to try to collect all lines, but it got to be too much

so I narrowed it down to Carnival...although I will accept ALL cruise cards

because I get to exchange, every now and then as well.

My email is  still dh-jennie (at) outlook dot com

for anyone who cares to donate any spare cards about to be thrown out

or just to chat

OK I see now what happened.

Your post is this chunk in green:

..........................

I have seen cruise cards dating back to the mid-1980s

so chances are you've had a few of them before your cruise on SS Norway in '93.

I'm attaching a few elderly Carnival designs,

in the hope they might jog your memory...

My post above shows my email, so keep in touch one way or the other.
