Ft Lauderdale things to do before Allure

Recommended Posts

Heading to FLL in Sept for a trip on Allure. Staying at the Diplomat for a couple days before. Any suggestions to visit? Just myself and DW, since the kids will have just started school hehehe... they're mad at us :-)

If you post your question on the FLORIDA departure boards you will get some excellent advice and the mods won't move your thread.

That being said love to sail from Ft. L and there are tons of things to do based on your interests and time in town. Great restaurants too.

Please, go to FLORIDA area as many locals post there. Happy Sails

I know a few have mentioned the water taxi. We spent a day touring on it...and off. Wonderful! An Everglades Airboat tour is also really fun. Las Olas Blvd is worth wandering. They also have unmanned stations with bikes for rent. Just use your credit card to unlock. We also went to a state park just off the A1A that was beautiful.

So much to do...so little time. Enjoy!

We were on the Allure last year out of Fort Lauderdale. We did the Everglades tour and it was fabulous. We also did the Jungle Queen Paddle Wheeler which has day trips and we did a dinner cruise on her which was loads of fun! Just google these and you will find websites. Nancy

Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood is close. (Hubby's place to kill time before and after a cruise -- we will leave a ship, Uber to there, check our luggage at the Bell desk and he goes and plays poker. I shop, maybe play a little slots. We have an early dinner, then catch an early evening flight back.)

Eat at Ricky's. It's a hole in the wall local sports dive bar. It's the local Cheers. Order the twin lobster tails, $25.00 and don't dress up. Sit as far from the door as possible........If you sit at the bar, beware......you are taking someone's seat. TV's everywhere, very noisey, but good food, wonderful service and everyone know's your name.
