Cruisen Elf Posted October 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2017 We will be returning to San Pedro from an international Princess cruise on a Thursday. What is the time difference if you self-disembark versus having to collect your luggage in the terminal before heading to customs? We are trying to determine which would be our best option. Our flight leaves LAX at 1:55 PM and we need to know what time to arrange for our transportation. Thanks in advance for any information you can share! You don't need to pre book transportation to LAX if you use SuperShuttle or PrimeTime. They have lots of vans at San Pedro and will load up as people show up. They charge 17 dollars per person. Disembarkation can be unpredictable due to customs and immigration staffing.
SadieN Posted October 20, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 20, 2017 You should arrange to get off the ship around 10. That’ll give you enough time to grab your luggage, go thru customs, travel to LAX and arrive two hours before your flight. If you’re flying internationally leave an hour earlier. This will hopefully get you to the airport a bit earlier but it does have a good cushion of time. Something that’s always needed when dealing with LA traffic. Rare Keith1010 Posted October 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 20, 2017 First off you don't need to do self disembark. Time is on your side. I would arrange for the pickup at 9:30 AM. That will give you plenty of time to get off the ship and collect your luggage to be picked up and to get to the airport. Have their telephone number with you so in case you hear about a delay early in the AM you can call them. Also that will help in case you can't locate your driver. Cruisen Elf Posted October 20, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted October 20, 2017 Thanks for all the great information! Good to know we can do regular disembarkation and get to the airport in plenty of time. We plan to pre-book a shuttle so we can get a small discount. Thanks to your help we now know when to schedule our port pick up.
