High Quality Blankets in PV

My beloved Mexican grandmother gave me a woolen mexican blanket years ago. It is beautiful and heirloom quality..or I should say it WAS...before the dog chewed a hole right in the middle of it:mad::mad::mad::mad:about 15 years ago:mad:. I would love to replace it and maybe buy more but all I can ever find are the cheap ones that tourists buy. I AM a tourist so I don't mind buying tourist stuff. But this is special. Does anyone know where in PV ,or Cabo or Mazatlan, for that matter, I could find a high quality mexican style blanket. I can post a photo of the one I'm wanting to replace, if that would help.

Also, the last time we were in PV, we crossed a rickety foot bridge to the flea market. When we returned to he street (Matamoros?) , we bought a BUNCH of stuff..mens shirts and womens dresses, in a store across the street next door to Casa Roma. Some were "better" and some were just the regular stuff you see everywhere. We want to go back and buy more, lol, when we return 12-26-18. Anyone familiar with the store? Is there a better one in another location? I will say it'd be hard to beat selection wise. Not sure about prices, though..Thanks in advance

Maybe something in Mercado Municipal. Up at the third bridge (second street bridge) on the Rio Cuale. Bonus- the restaurants are extremely local, not touristy at all.

Only other place I know of is the weaver across the plaza from the old mission church in Loreto. Princess usually stops here on their 9/10 day itins.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have shopped all over Mexico for beautiful blankets, and have found the highest quality, most beautiful ones at the Port in Puerto Vallarta. But perhaps someone else has more information.
