We have friends going on this - and they are spechiell !!!!!! :) They are the only ones (as far as we and they know) who will actually board at Melbourne. (As Melbourne isn't an "official boarding stop" - as per the official sector stops for boarding)

They are going to the UK to live.....and are doing Melbourne to Dubai. They contacted Princess to see of they could board at Melbourne instead of flying to Sydney - and Princess said yes. Now how's that for special? I think it's a wonderful gesture from Princess. IMHO

Yes Bon voyage all ... It is always very exciting...... I know this sounds awful but let's hope you are running late leaving Sydney. vivid Sydney starts next Friday ... The bridge and the opera house are just amazing when they are lit up... The view from the ship would be spectacular!,,,

There should be a few people in that situation.

I'll be getting off at Melbourne! ;-)

I was looking forward to that.

Problem is it starts at 6 p.m. Our ship leaves at 4... so, you know... :-( I don't think departures run late very often.

We will be aboard and are definitely hoping for a delayed departure so we can enjoy the lights.

What channel, Joanne?

it was the today show on channel 9. the segment was money minute... the finance guy talked about that with the way the dollar is cruising around the world was a good option as most of you major costs ( accom, food, drink etc ) are paid for in Australian dollars... also as I always advocate ... unpack and re pack only once LOL...

If it stays windy they could have a late departure. Our Sun cruise left White Bay three hours late due to high winds, and the weather forecast is predicting similar strength winds today.

Not the nicest day for them to leave Sydney, unfortunately.

Shame on you Sydney... fancy putting on this weather for our world cruisers to sail away in...

Ha ... hang on ... you did the same thing to us in 2011 .....

now there is always a silver lining... in 2011 cause of the rain and the amount of baggage on a world cruise ... loading the ship took extra time.. sail away ran very late... so they may be rewarded with Vivid Sydney....

Yes bon voyage to all, any blogs happening? I have friends Gordon & Kay boarding on June 11 for the Dubai to Southampton sector, their first cruise, here's hoping they don't cop the whingers when they board, as sometimes happens midway through a 'Worldie.'

Having joined a 'Worldie' midway, 3 years ago, we copped a few whingers who had been on since day 1, ....the sea days, missed ports, the food, price of drinks, laundry rage, rough weather, poor entertainment, etc, etc. One needs ear plugs.

Admittedly most were Pom Whingers as it was on P&O UK's Arcadia, but Aussies are no different.

Anyway I hope the weather clears up for the lucky folk on Sea Princess. Crikey they couldn't even give Sea Princess a berth at Circular Quay, but she is 'parked' at a tatty White Bay, sad that.

"And they would have an enhanced view of Vivid Sydney from White City, sailing under the Harbour Bridge.

Thanks Joanne. I had channel 9 on and usually watch/listen to that finance guy, but I was doing the usual half a dozen jobs whilst I watched, so missed it.:)

Agree unpacking only once is a big attraction. You would have noticed a big difference with your last big cruise/land content combination trip.

Bon Voyage to all World Cruisers.

As you can see I posted at 6.51 am.... I only caught it because I had just dropped my daughter down at the bus stop... I walked back into the house and there he was ( on deck ... ).... but it was just at the end... Luckily the fetch box played nice today and let me rewind it back to the beginning of the segment...
