Interesting, we were not allowed to go to our rooms right away nor were our luggage first to be delivered. Just saying. That is all I will say about FTTF. I like to be happy.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by “...we were not allowed to go to our rooms right away...?” We will be doing this cruise on 9/2, and we have FTTF. Were you verbally told you couldn’t enter your room when you boarded?

We were verbally told by the first staff member we saw in the atrium that our rooms would be ready at 1:30. We showed our FTTF sticker and they said we could not go until 1:30. We tried to go to the room anyway and we were met at the hall door by another staff who we went through the same exercise.

We then gave up and ate lunch. At 12:30, we saw a staff member delivering flowers on our floor and asked if she thought our room would be ready. She was very friendly and escorted us to our room and it was ready then.

So, we did get in 1 hr before the masses but not immediately upon embarking. This was not a big deal and had no impact on the rest of the cruise. However, if immediate access to your room is make/break for FTTF, be forewarned.

I feel like the first couple people that you spoke to were misinformed and didn’t know what they were talking about. I would have argued the point more (and will if it happens to me in a couple weeks). Early access to our room is the only reason I still buy FTTF. If they try to prevent me from going directly to my room when I board, I will be asking for my money back. But anyway, thanks for the heads up! I think I’m going to make sure to save the link to the description of FTTF on my phone so that if someone tries to give me this story, I will whip it out and correct them. [emoji4]

I do agree. This aspect was not critical for us and we did not want to start our vacation complaining (though we were entitled) at the front desk. So, we had a Miami Vice and chilled. Life is good.

Those do look tasty! Unfornuately for me, I will have my 84 yo Mother with me in a wheel chair and we will need to drop off our carryons as soon as we board :(

As a follow-up to this, we are just getting off the Imagination today. We were on board a little after 11 and our room was ready with our S&S cards waiting for us. When we checked in at the terminal the lady checking us in did start to explain about rooms being ready at 1:30, but I had to correct her about FTTF rooms being ready when we board.

I can’t recall if you said this, but did you go to your room and it wasn’t ready, or did you just assume that it wasn’t based on what the person told you? I hope it’s not the latter, because I’m sure if that’s the case, you missed out unnecessarily.

We showed our boarding pass with the FTTF logo to two staffers. We were clear that we were FTTF. Maybe just bad luck. As I said, it had no impact on our cruise experience. Glad you had good luck.

Take home: Carnival needs to train their staff better and never give up if this is important to you.
