I am booked on the Splendor to Hawaii on 12/1. i've purchases my excursions through Carnival (please no comments), do they have a system to ensure those with Carnival excurstions are tendered in time?

They do. Those with Carnival booked excursions will meet in a specific area and be escorted to the tenders in plenty of time to get to the meeting point.

Your husband went up there by himself and came back with more than one ticket? Is your complaint that they didnt follow the rules for others?

It wasn’t a complaint it was a statement. He went up by himself just to get in line and our party of 9 was literally 5 min behind him. My point was that at 9:00 15 min prior to the stated time of ticket dispersement, they were giving out tender 19 tickets already. We assumed there would be a long line so were shocked when they just gave him tickets. I mention it to help others know how it really works.

  • 2 months later...

So the arrival time into a port that is listed is the ship's time, not the local time? So if a tour (not through the ship) is listed as 10 am in Cabo then the ship time would be 9am.... do I understand that correctly? I will have a watch for getting on and off the ship so I won't miss it.... just trying to plan for activities and see what is an option for booking on my own.

Kona should be the only tender port. Ship should be able to dock at the other ports.

Did you park at the port before the cruise? I understand from these boards that because the Splendor is larger, there isn’t enough parking at the port. Someone said that you can’t park in the port garage until 11:30. We have FTTF and I would like to know what time everyone started boarding on your cruise? Nice review-Thanks!

I'm not the original poster but I was on the Splendor 7/14-7/21. In Cabo, ship time is one hour behind local time so yes, a 10 am Cabo start is 9 am ship time. In Mazatlan ship time and port time were the same. In PV, it was back to one hour behind local time.

I was able to find parking at 10:30 on the top level of the parking garage. There were probably 30 other open spots up there and more opened up as the last stragglers of the previous cruise trickled off.

I had no FTTF or any preferred status and I was on board the ship at 11:35 (my arrival time was supposed to be 12:30-1:00).

Thanks Slinky! We have FTTF and there is no way that I am waiting to park at 11:30 😀 Do you remember how much the parking was per day? I think it was $19 a day last time we used that parking garage.

Parking was $20 per day. Always nice to spend lots of money on the ship and get one more $140 punch on the way out :)

You should have spent the night before hand at one of the cruise and snooze hotels nearby. I am paying $140 f or 1 night accomodations and 7 nights parking. And the best thing is I dont have to drive from my house to ship on embarkation day. Free shuttle to and from the ship also

We considered that but our group would have had to get 3 rooms and there was only two vehicles so in the end it was still cheaper to just drive the morning of. I might do it next time when it's just the wife and I.

I was on the Splendor 8/4-8/11 - Steakhouse rocks! (went 3 times) - Chef's table was great too!

Parking was a problem since they did not open the parking structure until after 11:30 when I had a 11:30am boarding :( - they wanted me to park downtown and take a shuttle bus - no thank you! -- we arrived around 10:30 and ended up boarding around 11:30am
