If NCL offered completely non-smoking cruises, would you book?

I wonder if NCL ever looked into having specific cruises be 100% non-smoking? If they did:

1. Would you book one?

2. Would you be willing to pay a premium to book a cruise that was 100% smoke-free?

1. Yes, definitely.

2. Probably no more than ~$50pp

I am NO on both counts because I am tired of government and their regulations demanding what I and the members of my family do.

Just like the water threads.

What's next?.....NO alcohol or limited because it causes problems and it does stink.

How about perfume?....Kids?....

They can try, as other ships have tried, but the government loves and are addicted to the taxes.

Just look at the cigarettes they sell onboard? How large the space is.

Then there is the cigar lounge....Seems peoples right to enjoy themselves are being taken away bit by bit.

Don't go on an Asian cruise IF you expect NO smoking.

Celebrity which was once a thriving line, offers no smoking, except in a tiny area and now they have a smaller cut of the supply of passengers and only built 2 new ships in 2014 as they sell off the older ones.

I believe the ships have done a pretty decent job of curbing smoking within, and about the ship, but until smoking is eliminated completely in the World, it won't happen.

Perhaps they could build another casino in another area as a test or put in better air control.

I have only found that the smoke is heavy in the morning where they gather for that first smoke of the day when I go take a look. the evening smoke is not very noticeable on the NCL ships I have cruised on.

Yes

No

There are plenty of times in life I've been very bothered by cigarette smoke but it hasn't been on a cruise yet. With smoking being confined to a specific spot on deck and the casino it's easy to avoid - since I'm not a gambler. Now, I love eating outside and would pay a premium to not allow smoking in or near the patio of a restaurant - the smell ruins the taste of the food.

If a cruise line decides to make one of their ships non-smoking, what does it have to do with the government? It is not the government's decision, it would be a business decision by the company.

In answer to the question.

Yes

No, because there would be no need to charge more for a non-smoking ship.

No

And oddly enough only a few would pay more $$

Since there's a thread about smoking...

Hypothetically speaking...

I wonder, if marijuana was legalized,

how many pax would book a Cannabis Festival Cruise?

Carnival tried this a few years ago and couldn't fill the ship. The Paradise is now same as the rest of the fleet.

14 years ago and with one ship that did the same route over and over.

I sailed on it twice and loved the no smoking but after the second time, I wanted to go somewhere different.

I'm sure there are a lot more non smokers that there were 14 yrs ago.

Yes and only a little bit more BUT each trip is priced according to the magical price fair computer .I'm interested in what the future brings based on demand .

I am very happy with the smoking changes implemented over the last few years and though I'd be happy with a total ban , this is pretty great . My only change would be doing what HAL did where there was a non-smoking night in the casino . Maybe 2 nights on a 7 day ?

Government?

Whoa - maybe he should put on the aluminum hat so the government can't read his thoughts .

Absolutely I would go on a non-smoking cruise but it seems to me that instead of paying extra, I should pay less since by not smoking I'm not damaging the ship's upholstery and carpeting nor is there any chance I might put a cigarette burn on anything and also, I am lessening the ships insurance liability since there is no chance I could throw a lit cigarette overboard causing a fire.
