Best deck for an Oceanview room on the Triumph

I'm trying to navigate the floor plans and figure out which deck would be best to book our room. The available information that I have found seems vague. If you have stayed in an oceanview room on the Triumph, which deck/part of the ship would you choose? Which ones would you avoid?

Best approach is to pick your cabin with cabins above and below to minimize risk of noise. Being under Lido deck you'd likely hear deck chairs scraping, especially late nights when the crew cleans the open deck. Also, being under the galley you'd likely hear noise from carts rolling. Avoid the area under the fitness area because you'll likely hear gym equipment noises. Also, avoid cabins next to the cabin steward storage room. Those usually appear as white areas on decks with cabins. IMO, cabin choice is more important than deck choice unless you feel strongly about being close to Lido. Sites such as cruise deck plans dot com can help you make that type of decision. IMO you will feel more motion being forward on the ship. I prefer mid-ship to aft over forward.

Awesome! Thanks for the tips!

I usually like more toward the aft elevator, it goes right up to the back of the buffet for a fast breakfast. I havent looked at triumph, all the way aft lately, so I cant remember if there are some oversized cabins on deck 2 that are oversized, if not i would stay mid to aft. Hopefully you get the back dining room if near aft elevator

middle elevator takes you near where guys burgers or whatever is near the back of the pool these days. not a bad location if you want to go to the casisno a lot and i think anytime dining is off this elevator, though you never know.

i cruise by myself, and for price, those 1A with portholes all the way forward cant be beat for price, but last time some idiot decided to upgrade me to a higher deck and gave away my larger than regular inside cabin with a porthole i picked specifically. worse ever, was all the way forward, on a deck that had doors where you could walk outside to the deck in front of the cabins, .... and stormed and the door to outside was closed and locked the whole cruise. wasnt too happy with carnival changing my selected room on triumph without my permission.

Id have to look, but i dont remember triumph having those oversized cabins clear in the aft facing the wake, seems like they were smaller on triumph. been on too many ships to remember any more.

right now i have a cabin near the aft elevator which will be convenient to everything but the theater. But im sure ill get in more than my share of walking no matter where I choose, but i try and minimize it. I like aft elevator just because of the ease to get up to the back of the buffett or the things in the back of lido deck. pizza used to be back there, not sure any more, but i like to sit in the aft chairs outside on lido deck and watch the wake.

I would say that 6, 7 ,8 , or 9 would be the best. Of course they aren't called oceanview rooms, they are called interior obstructed view or 4J. They are basically an oceanview room at an interior room price. They are located at the front of the ship with the "secret decks".

If you're talking about traditional oceanview cabins that just have a window, you're limited to decks 1 and 2 on Conquest class ships like the Triumph. There are a few other types of cabins with an ocean view and no balcony on higher decks like the previous poster mentioned. We were on deck 2 forward on the Triumph in December. Good location unless you spend a lot of time in the casino or don't want to walk a long way to get to the dining room. Also, if you pick a cabin deck 2 forward, the theater is right above you. There will be some noise.

We just had 2 odd shaped and large OV cabins way aft on deck 2. They were great, except the morning we got back to NO, then it was super loud from the wee hours in the morning and the cabins shook and closet doors swung open, etc. from the anchors or whatever equipment is below. All in all, I'd do those cabins again because of the space.

yea those were the cabins i was talking about, though i thought on triumph they were small, conquest class ovs all the way aft that face the wake/aft are larger than on triumph as i remember.

We had these--2456 and 2454. They were perfect for having to cabins, one for us and one for our kids (13 and 5). They had their own little entry way with a door before the cabin doors. That door didn't lock, but we shut it at night.

I like riviera deck, mid to forward or slightly aft. Quiet, not a lot of movement, quick debark in ports of call, as well as return to ship. Main deck is a second choice, but beware of what is above.

Makes sense. Thanks for the heads up! We still don't have our room number yet because we bought a guaranteed oceanview room. I'm a little nervous and a bit sorry that I didn't just pa the $20 difference for the room. They dangled that possible "free upgrade" in front of us so I bit.

as far as upgrades go..dont give up your guaranteed oceanview for anything less, but only for a balcony room. Sometimes they try to sell you an upgrade to a higher deck inside as an upgrade...it is not. There is absolutely nothing wrong with with the oceanview on riviera or main. I personally do also like inside rooms, but an ocean view room is always better in my opinion. Nothing wrong with the lower decks especially the ocean view rooms.

We were on valor room 2475 and aside from the rattling and vibration, it was a good room. It was at the aft facing Oceanview. There was an external door with two cabins inside. We didn't lose any sleep but if you are bothered by this beware. It was great location wise because it was a quick tide up to 9 to the pizza place. The ship was small so even if we ride up elevators it took no time to walk across to the other end. We had lots of motion in the back too but it rocked you to sleep. These rooms are also only for two people, we had no couch, just a table and bed but sufficient closet and drawer space .

Yeah, the one our kids had didn't have a couch, but we had one in the bigger room. Honestly no idea why those biggest rooms couldn't be made quads. There was more than enough room for 4 in there--much more room than a standard balcony cabin. We had more floor space in there than we had on a premium extended balcony room on the Pride.
