Luggage Question

Sorry if this has been answered previously. We're going on Discovery from Barbados and wondered how the hold luggage is handled. When we arrive in Barbados from Newcastle will we have to collect our luggage or will it go straight to the ship?

Your luggage is bonded, so will be taken to the ship directly. You do not have to collect it. It will appear outside your cabin door within a couple of hours. On return, you leave your luggage outside your cabin door by 02:00 and you will see it again at your destination airport.

Thanks, that sounds just fine; no hassle at all.

Also if you are going directly to the ship, not stay and cruise, you do not go through customs its straight onto the coach for your transfer. The last day on the ship you have to go through customs on the ship for paperwork you hand in at the airport its a great system.

Even better, pity all holidays weren't as simple.

A tip is to have a change of clothes in your hand luggage as it could be a couple of hours till your luggage appears and you don’t want to be still in your winter clothes!
