Military discount

Just a reminder for those who aren't aware of this 10% discount. Its for anyone who served in the military. Do not have to be active. Proof is all you need.

MSC also offers a firefighters discount for active and retired personnel. They will extend the discount to family members also.

And by extending the discount to family members, that means if you’re on the same cruise but in a different cabin you still get the discount. I’m even more thankful my sister was in the Air Force!!!

According to their webiste, 5% discount for inside and ocean view. Not combinable with the MSC Voyagers Club discount, so check to see which is better for you.

 

The website also says it applies to active duty and retired; interesting to hear that others have received the discount as well.

Police too? All 3 of my brother-in-laws are active State Patrol. Would we qualify for a discount? If so, how do we prove it?

Yes, police are included in the government employee/civil servant category. I guess you'd have to ask MSC or your travel agent what kind of documentation they want.

It seems that these discounts are only for US travellers. Why is there not a similar scheme for European and United Kingdom passengers? Or is there?

I’m a retired state employee..... I’ve gotten it on previous cruises...but yesterday I booked a family cruise...6 cabins so far....and they honored the 10% off all balcony cabins....5% off inside.

 

I just provided a copy of my retirement letter from the State. They put it in the system and don’t have to provide each time

I have gotten 10% on all our MSC cruises as the Travel Agent provides the info she has on file from when I used it on Princess. Has to be provided each cruise. Just saved a ton of money on our 21 Day cruise.

I called yesterday and spoke to a nice service rep.

She sent me an email, I attached photos of my DD214s and sent it back...

BAM! In an hour I had a 10% discount on my Yacht Club booking.

I'm an active County employee and got the 10% discount on a past Divina cruise, and our upcoming Seaside cruise. Grateful for the savings!
