Advice needed on back to back cruises

It varies from ship to ship---we've been on several. But they have always sent us a letter a day or two before disembarkation and had the B2Bers meet up in one area at a specific time (usually near the service desk). A ship's officer escorts the group off the ship--you need your ID and boarding pass---they march you through customs, give you your new S&S card and bring you back on the ship. It usually takes 15 minutes. Sometimes they'll take a group picture and give your cabin champagne and a fruit bowl. The best part (to me) is the hour or so you'll spend "alone" on the ship! Here's one of our B2B cruises, just click on the link below---the part you're interested in would be pictures 137-147. Enjoy your cruise!

We have been on one B2B. We had to go to the service desk and get new sail & sign card. We stayed in the same cabin and were given a pass to get back on the ship if we wanted to go ashore but going ashore was not required. Make sure you eat a good breakfast in that food will not be available for a few hours once the ship is fully disembarked. We did enjoy the experience.

I have done many B2B cruises and the info above is correct. The only times we did not leave the ship is when it was a B2B journey cruise combination going from the continental US to San Juan and then returning back to the original embarkation port. There were hundreds of B2B cruisers on these cruises and they handled the turn around on board.

In Jax, traditionally, we didn’t have to leave and walk to immigration. In Canaveral, they trundle everybody off for a LOOOOONG walk to the farthest most point possible to have the officer glance at your passport for 1/10th of a second. Once we complained as a group after returning to the ship for our free drinks, and a wonderful officer smoother ruffled feathers in explaining they have zero control how Immigration handles it, and carnival has to PAY them to be there, at their whim. So don’t blame Carnival for the inconvenience, it aggravates them as well!
