Will this work and cost of uber?

Looking at renting a car from Hobby the day before our cruise and driving to Texas City for the night. Next day, will drive family and luggage to the port and drop them off. I thought I read that there is a Starbucks they can walk to?? Will return the car and uber to port. Anyone know the general cost of the uber? Also planning to do the same in reverse after our cruise. Can I uber back to Texas City?
