mort1305 Posted January 16, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2018 My wife and I will be doing our first back to back cruise in November on the Majestic Princess, the first cruise is Sydney to Hobart return followed by Sydney to New Zealand return. Could anyone please advise how the turnaround portion of the cruises works, do we have to disembark after the first cruise and then re board after checking in again, do we receive a second cruse card and if so where and when. Any help and advice re back to back cruises would be most appreciative. My thanks in advance. Cheers.
Aus Traveller Posted January 16, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Usually you will be issued with your new cruise card on the last night of the first cruise, together with a letter explaining the procedure. You will have to disembark using your old cruise card. You can go early or you can go as the last passengers. However, the ship must be cleared of passengers before embarkation can start for the next cruise. If you wish to disembark last, then embark for the next cruise as soon as you can, they usually let these B2B passengers embark first. Otherwise, you can go out for the day and embark later. BTW, you do not have to do the muster drill on the second cruise as it is within 30 days.
Rare MicCanberra Posted January 16, 2018 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2018 Agreed with the above, except we have had to do muster every time we have done a B2B anyway.

If it was Princess, they don't require you to do it within the 30-day period. Passengers on cruises longer than 30 days, have to repeat the muster drill. Princess twice, P&O and X as well, although with X, we only had to have our cards scanned for that one and we could leave again. Either way it is no big deal as nothing is open (bars, etc) and as the lounges are the muster stations the only real place you can stay is in your room where you would get disturbed by the announcements and the alarms.
