First time cruising on QM2 - question specialty coffee

They are free - but in Britannia at least, are the type dispensed from a simple push button machine, so aren't the same quality as the barista-made coffees you pay for in Sir Samuel's, Carinthia Lounge, Cafe Carinthia etc (depending on which ship you are on). To be honest, we didn't find them very palatable so we stick to either English breakfast or mint tea. However, I'm sure there will be some different views about the palability so give them a try and see what you think.

An espresso is free after lunch and dinner.

For breakfast I always went with the usual joe.

I never ordered a cappuccino after a meal, simply because everyone who does goes straigth to hell according to Italian dinner etiquette.

Exactly--no cappuccino after 11 a.m.

The

cappuccino you pay for is actually quite good. I personally don't care what time it is. You can use OBC.

The free expresso in the MDR was not very good, did not finish it. I thought the regular coffee in the MDR was drinkable, not great, however, as in most things it is a matter of personal taste. While I really like a very good cup of coffee I will usually drink most coffee unless it is burnt.
