Bug Spray

We are doing a Buenos Aires round trip cruise in December with stops down the coast and around Cape Horn. Also spending 5 days in BA after the cruise

What will be the bug situation and should we take spray?

Would love to know too!

I was just there in Feb/March. I had it with me, but never used it. If you were going on a more tropical tour, you would probably want to use it. Take some, better to have and not need, than to need and not have.

Never needed it around the horn, in BA, or at Iguazu Falls. Don't recall even seeing a bug!

Our experience too (but we had it with us) on a cruise from Los Angeles to Rio de Janiero with a post cruise trip to Iguazu.

We had a few bugs in Ushuaia (Jan 2018) when hiking in the National Park - but nothing that concerned us, nor bothered us. All other ports of call, not a bug to be seen.

Do take sunscreen.

We never used our on a Feb. cruise. No did we use for our week pre cruise in Uruguay and BA or post cruise in Santiago and area.

No problems with bug when I did this cruise in November. Do take sunscreen, and do pack bug spray, just in case. Make sure you take layers of clothing.....can be cool and very windy in some places!!!!!!! I love, love, love this cruise and will do it again in the near future! Enjoy!

It depends on when and where your SA cruise goes.

Ours is from BA to Rio and back so it stops in many Brazil ports and that is where bugs are as well as the Falls. We just got our YF vaccine as needed for these area. (Travel Dr showed the map area CDC also lists it)
