Cabin Guarantee

We just upgraded from a Junior Suite to a Grand Suite Guarantee on our February Indy cruise. How far out are guarantees typically assigned? I looked today and there are no more GS or GS guarantees available.

Anytime between now and sailing - more likely sooner than later

I had a guarantee assigned 2 days before sailing...

I booked on Saturday and was assigned a cabin today.:D

We sailed in a guarantee on Anthem in November and the room was assigned 2 days before sailing.

If you have a guarantee how do you get luggage tags? Do you notified that you should print new tags?

You don't get notified.

If you are assigned before cruise documents are issued, then your luggage tags should be correctly created and downloadable.

If you are assigned after cruise docs are issued, you can contact whoever booked your cruise and request your cruise docs be re-issued.

Or, don't bother with luggage tags, just go to the porters and tell them your stateroom. If you don't know your stateroom number, the porters can look it up.

For her honeymoon, I upgraded my niece to a guaranteed suite after her documents were issued. I want to make sure she knows what to do.

That doesn't mean they aren't holding cabins....or upgrading people to higher cabins to free some up;)
