Connections at EWR Newark

Just bought our tickets to Hawaii for a POA cruise. We have not flown sice 2004 so it should be an experience in more ways than one. We will be arriving in Newark for our connection at terminal "C", but our connecting flight leaves from Terminal "A". I heard that they operate a shuttle bus from terminal "C" to terminal "A" where you don't have to go through TSA a second time. Does anyone have any information you could share?

Here is United's terminal map with the bus clearly on it https://www.united.com/web/en-US/content/travel/airport/maps/ewr.aspx

I've used the bus in the past and it is a SLOW process and will stop TWICE at terminal B, make sure you enough connection time. You need your boarding pass for the flight out of Terminal A to use it. It only goes to the A3 concourse so know where your flight is leaving and you may have to change concourse when you get to Terminal A. Well again that was a few years ago. YMMV.

FYI, the shuttle bus stop/gate is next to Gate 71 in the C concourse. It is well marked and easy to find. The stop in Terminal A is right in the grand circle of gates. Do NOT take the AirTrain. That will force you to go through TSA again at Terminal A.
